I'm a little surprised City are letting both Jesus and Sterling go in the same window. It's not like they're complete back-up/surplus to requirement type players. They played a lot of minutes and scored a lot of goals in the past 5 years plus they're both still fairly young.
As highly rated as Haaland is he seems to be picking up a lot of little niggling injuries in the past year or two and missing a decent amount of games each season. If he was to miss a couple of months they'll need good back-up and you don't really know how quickly Julian Alvarez is going to settle in England.

By the end of the year, Guardiola will forget that Kalvin Phillips even exists.

By the end of the year, Guardiola will forget that Kalvin Phillips even exists. If it was any team except City (or PSG) I would say it's ridiculous paying £50m for Kalvin Phillips. It's City though. Money isn't an option. They can pay crazy money even for squad players and it's no big deal to them. For £100m you expect like a top 10 player in the world but Grealish might not even have been a top 10 player for City last season, he was just another decent option for them to have. If he signed for like United/Liverpool for that price and only got 3 goals and 3 assists all season he'd be considered one of the biggest transfer flops of all time.

To the surprise of no one Cristiano Ronaldo is looking for a way out of Man Utd. Supposedly Bayern Munich are interested. Ronaldo & Mane would be a heck of a forward line. Following up on this, seems like Chelsea FC might also be interested in Ronaldo, per an ESPN report.

I can confidently say that assuming he's allowed to leave it will not be for Chelsea or any other English team. Manchester City might not have any concerns about selling players to their rivals, but United don't have that luxury.

In "Surprised they're doing this now when it felt like it would have been easier to do it a few weeks ago with more free agent managers on the board" news, PSG have sacked Mauricio Pochettino as their manager.
EDIT: And he's already been replaced by Christophe Galtier, formerly of Nice, and the person that was expected to replace Pochettino after the signing of Luis Campos as football advicer, who previously worked with Galtier in his former job at Lille.

Right, looks like Saints have their eye on every highly rated youngster at the moment. I am not used to this.

Would this guy be a good replacement for Ronaldo if he leaves Man United? He’s a different kind of player. A few years ago he was world-class but since the incident at the Euros last year, he’s obviously not the player he was, who would be? He’s still quality and played a big part in Brentford staying up but although he can score, he’s never been as prolific as some other attacking midfielders. Even so, even if his wages and insurance will be high, to get him on a free transfer is damn good business. He’s obviously fit to play at this level otherwise he wouldn’t be allowed to play in the Premier League but after all he’s gone through, I think there’ll always be a bit of doubt over his health.

Would this guy be a good replacement for Ronaldo if he leaves Man United? They're two very different types of player. Ronaldo's only real role as a forward is to lead the line and score goals. Eriksen's role is creating chances for the forwards. Eriksen's a very good player, even if his cardiac arrest has diminished him somewhat, but a more direct replacement would be needed for Ronaldo.

Always a shame to see a career cut short. I saw him play a couple of times at youth level and he was phenomenal, but his injuries made sure he never came close to fulfilling his potential.

after a month of deciding on Premier League teams, I just settled with Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur. They’ve got players I like and their fanbases seem rather passionate.

Wayne Rooney has just taken over as the manager for DC United. He likes a challenge by the looks of things.

I think Tottenham will be real strong this season. They ended last season in good form and have made some good looking signings. City and Liverpool are on another level to everyone else but I can see Spurs with Conte for a full season comfortably being the best of the rest and finishing 3rd.
