Well you’re not a TROLL WWE guy. So you’re not an asshole. Lol So you’re all good. Thanks, but at the same time, we can't claim one side as trolls where's there's plenty of others on the other side. If you see tribal shit somewhere else leave it there or specify. This place should be above that crap. When we talk about WWE trolls, it's almost exclusively schmucks on Twitter or other social media. People who make puffing their chests out about a wrestling company and going out of their way to spite fans of the other company their entire online identity.
Thankfully, that's more or less nonexistent here.

Exactly. Even if I disagree with people on here, very rarely I would ever consider anyone here a troll. So you’re right, when I mean trolls, I mean Twitter, Facebook and even Reddit, thought Reddit has a decent balance of rational people and weirdos. But this place for the most part has been awesome.

I do think he kind of played into trolls hands by going the whole 'I have lots of money and we're going to smash them' route, when it could have been as simple as 'Man, they really don't like AEW having unopposed TV time, huh? Well, rather than lay down and take it easy on the night, we're going to try harder than ever to give people as much choice as possible, and our audience the best show we possibly can.' Then it's all subjective over who 'won' with a better show rather than a concrete thing.

I don't even know what a fast national is. It's a new sex move also called the "Blitzkrieg Bop." Is it anything like "The Rusty Venture?"

As expected. Tony doth protest too much. Regardless, the numbers for both were still better than even I thought.

AEW got close to SD! besides having 30 minutes competing, SD! getting extra tv time and being in a worst time slot. If anything WWE should be upset it was this close,I never expected Rampage to beat it. To be fair Smackdown was also on a channel that is not very accessible and AEW was on its normal channel at its normal timeslot. Either way we as fans won.

The expression "the real winners are the fans" is cliche in some standards, but it definitely fits for last night given the matches we got.

I still find it funny that we were beginning to have discussions all over the place about "Do the ratings really matter in the end?" and now WWE trolls cling on to Fast Nationals like they're religion
Even more ironic now that we know WWE are the ones leaking specific numbers to make themselves look good. We have no idea how the head to heads did or the demo numbers either. It just feels like some people are bickering or "tsk tsk"ing over nothing.
I just wanna watch good wrestling. I got that last night. I hope it continues. If we get some silly back and for this or WWE in the end has slightly higher numbers? Who cares? Wrestling's fun again for the most part. That's what I want. Hopefully that's what most others want as well!

The fast nationals we already have reason to think are pretty dirty are doubly useless here, because only the quarter-hours are going to be a worthwhile comparison. It's WWE trying to control the narrative early again. You wanna talk about stoking tribalism and toxicity? The only reason to drop these numbers when they neither complete nor the ones that need to be compared in the first place is to give one side a chance to yell, assume victory, and take an obnoxious victory lap with it before anything is properly resolved. We're in another one of those "one side is doing something objectively worse in this exact same situation but okay" zones now with this. People who want these numbers to mean more are going to have an actual statement to go around bludgeoning people with, and WWE intentionally shaped up a handle for them. AEW has the same ability to get these fast national numbers and leak whatever they want of those numbers if the narrative is incorrect.

"Fast Nationals" sounds like WWE and AEW competing against each other in an auto race.

This whole ratings thing is ridiculous anyway as AEW fans are now backtracking their statements and Khan's just as WWE fans would be doing on the other side if they would have "lost" this week. It is insane the venom that is spewed in the name of pro wrestling when 90% of the people taking hardcore stances on one particular side watch both shows anyway even if it is just to critique...Doing so only helps the numbers and perceptions. It is beyond crazy that this is just the beginning. We all better buckle up haha

I think WWE look worse leaking only specific numbers that aren't accurate.

Smackdown probably won overall views. Head to Head? Nobody actually knows. Those averages aren't up. Neither are demo numbers. WWE only leaked seemingly the overall viewership fast nationals... which also aren't accurate and it seems WWE and Rampage will be up from what's posted. So yeah... no one really knows anything. It's just a narrative some peeps will run with for two days.

People do this every single time that the fast nationals are promoted which usually coincides with a WWE victory...Either way this is insanely strong indication that although AEW isn't 100% ready to run with the ball ala WCW's 83 weeks they sure as hell aren't that far off.

Question for the thread: is a hot dog a sandwich? Yes. Bread has been made as a bread, then you put in stuff - in this case a hot dog - that wasn't involved in the creation of said bread. P.S. Anyone who says otherwise is in trouble. Mod trouble. Yes, but if someone said they were going to get sandwiches and came back with hot dogs... while they are technically sandwiches are not what saying you are going to get a sandwich implies and they damn well know that
