The final days of the AWA. Most of the people involved (aside from Masa Saito and Verne himself) are still alive to give insight.

To bump this up, it's only a matter of time before CM Punk gets an episode after these past three months. (EDIT: Not a real DSotR video, just an excellent fan-edit.)

Apparently season 4's doing episodes on Abdullah the Butcher, Bam Bam Bigelow, and Mike Awesome. Should be interesting ones.

To me, the most interesting part (since I already know the stories) is seeing how the producers get a full hour of content out of some of these. Like, it's sad that Mike took his own life, but before that, he was just your typical wrestler. There wasn't a lifetime of bad things attached to him. Unless jumping to WCW was "dark." But they're somehow going to get a full episode out of him being "dark." Bigelow died from an overdose, but not sure how much there was to his life being "dark" either. Just an unfortunate means of passing away.
I guess it really depends on if there are things below the surface that the general public don't know about.

There is potential in Ludvig Borga as a story since the man was very problematic to say the least.

They could talk about Heyman not paying talent during Awesome's episode, and the backlash against Awesome for having the gall to want to get paid.

I'm interested to see how they do the Abdullah one. He was on the Stampede Tales episode so I wonder if they will use him, maybe they filmed segments then.

Didn't part of why he killed himself have to do with a nasty divorce? I imagine that's going to come up, along with maybe "there is like a 9 million percent chance he had CTE, look at like any of these matches."

How about an episode about all of the behind the scenes shenanigans of Pro Wrestling USA and Superclash 3?

I thought Corny said on one of his recent podcasts that they were over filming a lot of stuff for a Terry Gordy episode.

Having re-watched the Ultimate Warrior Episode, I was surprised that The Renegade wasn't mentioned at all. Maybe Season 4 will give us that?
In fact, there's a few more I'm hoping gets looked at: -The Closures of WCW & ECW & The InVasion -Impact Wrestling (Though this one might be a two-parter or something) -Heroes Of Wrestling -Scott Hall (or even possibly the Kliq?) -Alberto Del Rio -The Authority Angle -How Cornette & Russo's animosity started.
There's probably a few more off the top of my head, but they've probably been mentioned already.

They should do one about Larry Sweeney, especially because a lot of the guys he worked with are still in the industry in big and small roles. I also prefer the stories they tell, while tragic, about good people rather than shitty people.

ECW's last year and Heyman sabotaging the deal with TNN out of spite.
What exactly happened there? I was under the impression they decided to go with WWE, and weren't going to keep ECW regardless of anything ECW did or did not do. I know they turned "the Network" heel on TV and cut promos on them, etc. but I was under the impression they were going to be off the air soon anyway. Did something happen to prematurely end the deal?
TNN was all in on the company when they got them and was going to give them new production gear that Heyman wouldn't have to pay a dime for. In exchange, they gave them a set of guidelines of what would be appropriate to do. Heyman being Heyman, said f u and did what he wanted.

TNN was all in on the company when they got them and was going to give them new production gear that Heyman wouldn't have to pay a dime for. What I had always heard was TNN expected certain production values, but weren't willing to pay for making it happen.
I remember hearing somewhere that TNN sent Heyman some top notch equipment to use, but Heyman turned it away because he didn’t want to change things. I’m not sure how reliable that is as I could see the story getting twisted over the years. I wouldn’t be surprised if TNN was all in on ECW and quickly soured on them. To the first point, I mean why else would they work with ECW in the first place if they weren’t hopeful? To the second point TV is a much more fickle business than wrestling in general. Look how all in NBC was on the Jay Leno Show back in 2009 only to yank it less than 6 months later.

I wonder if during The Mike Awesome episode we'll get Joey Styles infamous comments during One Night Stand.
