This is what I expect, Wrestlemania 21 talk show and stunner. Yep There was no f***ing way in the blueest of hells Austin after 19yrs was coming out to wrestle a match again love the guy but Kevin Owens is not who The GOAT comes out of retirement after 19yrs to wrestle and not built around a guy insulting Texas no less. It is an insult to Austin let alone his legacy that they thought this was the build deserving to try and get him to do one more match. They must have paid Austin an astronomical ammount to even do this if what JR said is true that he was not enthusiastic about this.

I guarantee you they would let Austin have whatever build he wanted for a match. This is likely the route he chose after training for a match.

One big question remains: will they give him a flamethrower?
You know what? He's Stone Cold. Give him a freeze ray. Let Stone Cold Steve Austin have a freeze ray at Wrestlemania.

Funny how out of touch the regular media is on this. It hasn't been 20 years, that's for sure.

I mean...Austin's still a great promo, so it wasn't bad by any stretch, but I can't help but feel his heart's not in this one. I just didn't hear the fire and conviction I'm used to hearing from a Stone Cold promo, if that makes any sense. Like he was just going through the motions. I hope I'm wrong.

Austin is a talent that is both hard to read because he is masterful at blurring the line but also makes it obvious when he is REALLY into whatever it is he is doing. He is gonna put in the effort into whatever this is but compare it to when he and Heyman talked about the Brock match and how you could see the stark difference to this promo.

Austin was into this heavy. You bought every word this man was saying and it was real.

They're playing a dangerous game here. They seem to both be promoting this as something we haven't seen in 19 years (a match) and just the KO Show, which we've seen before. They seem content to let fans and media imaginations to run wild. So, unless they get very clear on what this is, if they burn the fans, this could really haunt them.

I mean, it’s not going to burn the only true fans they count, the media companies, Saudi Arabia and Wall Street, so they’ll likely be fine.

WWE have been consciously falsely advertising Austin since at least Survivor Series 99. It's really gross.

Calling it now - KO goads Austin into a match right here, right now. Austin accepts. Bell rings. Austin hits a stunner and wins. There's my totally original idea that i came up with all on my own.

I've heard a rumor that this "match" is basically a test. If it goes well, Austin will do the Saudi shows, for a shit ton of money.

I’m guessing the hesitancy/vagueness of it is Austin’s doing as he’s very protective of his legacy and is unsure about actually calling it a match.

Why NOT call it a match?
Unless Steve specifically said he doesn't want to call it a match because he doesn't feel he's ready for what he feels is a "genuine" wrestling match, why not just let it be 5-10 minutes of Kevin Owens getting his ass kicked mixed in with some heel cheating/cowering?
