I don't really have an opinion one way or the other, but that's a big enough drop that people are going to be questioning whether there's a Cody correlation.

Lowest in both numbers since December according to Thurston. Kind of surprising, was there anything major on last night that hasn’t been there the last few weeks?

That's one hell of a drop, the last few weeks have been very good, so this doesn't make sense.

Seems like it can mostly be attributed to the 7 PM NBA game doing much better than last week, there's basically a direct correlation between how much AEW dropped and how much it rose in both the viewers and the demo.
Or maybe people just didn't find this week's card interesting I guess, I knew going in I was skipping this week myself. Though doubt that many people had the same idea.

I'd be interested to see the hour by hour breakdown. I'm not a regular viewer but I tuned in to see if they'd address the Cody/Brandi situation and assumed others might too.

I do think the presence of South Park creates a bit of a lower ceiling for Wednesday night ratings, but it didn't really affect things much last week, so it's hard to attribute this drop to that.

I expect this to go like every other time this happens. Whenever there is a drop, people panic that the rating has dipped then it will be forgotten about when the rating goes back up.

This week’s Wednesday NBC coverage of the Olympics was down almost 3 million in viewership and 0.60 in the demo from last Wednesday.

I'm not sure if it was the ESPN game but I know there was a Knicks/Nets game last night and NY's a big hub for AEW fandom.
Other than that, it could just be people choosing not to watch in real-time and catch up. I know personally lately it's been easier for me to catch up on Thursday mornings and skip commercials than to watch the show in real-time. Makes me wonder again how valuable Nielsen is these days.

Yeah, that's really odd. Card had a lot of star power. You would think the Cody news would make people more likely to tune in out of curiosity, not tune out. Plus Cody has honestly been off of a ton of shows week to week. He had long absences for a variety of reasons and ratings were fine. So yeah, this drop is really weird.

Was the rest of the night down for other shows too?

Yeah, I thought it would be over a million because of that. The Olympics are still on so I don't think anyone is really worried.

Next week should bounce back with no NBA game and no Olympics.

Was the rest of the night down for other shows too? It looks like it to some extent. This rating would've been 6th last week, it was 3rd this week.

Knicks-Nets had to play a big part of it. I think it was not only on ESPN nationally, but on the RSN's here locally. Especially since you had that trainwreck factor in the fourth quarter where the Knicks blew a 28 point lead.
It was still #3 for the week, so it really does seem like less people in general were watching TV last night on top of it.

Considering the Olympics on NBC did less than 7 million viewers I wouldn't think about that as a factor. Maybe people just wanted to see the Knicks blow a 28-point lead
