Buff Bagwell says he is moving in with Diamond Dallas Page to get help he needs

Former WCW/WWE star Buff Bagwell announced today that he will be moving in with Diamond Dallas Page to get help. DDP recently stated on his podcast that Bagwell has having a rough time and they had been talking. It appears that Bagwell is taking DDP up on the offer.

“I always loved Marcus and he’s going through some tough times right now and we’ve been talking,” DDP said in January. “It’s hard because with Jake…we had a relationship where if I said, ‘listen Jake this is how we have to do this’ he respected and would work towards that. Mark is still his own animal. He’s gonna do what he wants to do. And I think over the last few months, we’ve been talking [and] I think that he’s getting more — just let me drive for a little while, bro. You know what I mean? That’s all. That’s all I want to do. Because when Jake let me drive, we had really great success.”

Bagwell tweeted the following:

“I hate to do this, but due to me moving in with DDP this week to get the help I need and work on a new project called “Change or Die” I have to postpone my Orlando and Melbourne, FL appearances for this weekend. We will announce a new date very soon, you can get your refund at Where you originally purchased your tickets. I’m deeply sorry for this, but I have to get myself together to be the best Marcus Bagwell possible. I’ll still be in Ohio next weekend for our live show.”

Bagwell noted that he will still be in Dallas for WrestleCon in Dallas. It’s great to hear that DDP is helping him out and we wish nothing for the best for Buff.

Where you originally purchased your tickets. I’m deeply sorry for this, but I have to get myself together to be the best Marcus Bagwell possible. I’ll still be in Ohio next weekend for our live show.

The fact that he's using the name "Marcus" shows he's trying to go in a different direction. He's been "Buff" for so many years, he even writes that on every autograph I've seen. I post this anytime his name comes up on here, he IS a great guy. He does LOVE the fans. He is just like Warrior or Bret, he believes he is this character and wants to make the fans happy. I'm sure it's hurting him to cancel an appearance but he probably also knows it has to be done to get the help he needs. With Jake and Razor I know there was a big relationship with DDP during each guys time with WCW that really helped them. I'm not sure he and Marcus had that despite their many years in WCW but I do think this will be more helpful and successful than any other place would be.

I've had the opportunity to hang out with Buff twice, and he's an absolutely wonderful guy. Yes, he's a little high on himself sometimes, but never in a mean way. The evening I got to spend with him and Scott Steiner is honestly a highlight of my life, one of those "I can't believe this absolutely surreal thing happened" kinda nights. He made a 20 year old kid feel like he was a peer and not...well, a 20 year old kid playing wrestler. I have never and will never forget that.

Get well, Buff. You're one of the good ones.

That's awesome! I met him I think 5 times from 1996 to 2014 and he was always so nice. He treats every fan with kindness. One time in 2014, after an autograph signing he was backstage for the wrestling show and one of the workers had a photo of him with Marcus he'd been waiting all day to get signed. Marcus treated him like he was the important person in the world.

A few weeks ago he did a show where he and the fans sang the American Males song. There weren't too many fans but he was loving every second of it. It doesn't matter if it's one fan attending and paying $10, he will be as nice to that one person as he would be to Eric Bischoff paying him his WCW contract.

When he gave out his phone number in 2020, I messaged him after his last car accident because I know he's the type of guy to thrive on fan support. He replied within just a few minutes with a thank you message. I believe in what Dallas Page was done for so many people and if anyone can help Marcus it will be Dallas.

Buff Bagwell with the turnaround of 2022 so far is quite the endearing sight

If he recovers well, I would mark if he made an appearance in AEW. It's very cool to see these guys get help and improve both their lives and their world views.
