Between this and not knowing the type of content produced by the company your trainee signed for, this hasn’t exactly been a great advertisement for Reality of Wrestling as a school.

Question about the 30-90 day window on releases. Back in 2020 when Drake and Heath got released, they brought Heath back for a RAW as apparently the contracts said for those 90 or 30 days they could still use people they let go. The same with Drake, though he got resigned soon after and they turned it into a storyline. Can they still do that? Or did that get changed? Nia Jax was asked to be in the Rumble this year during her 90 days so I’m guessing that still applies.

Sorry if I misunderstood your intent. It was some years ago. It wasn’t a major deal but it was something Meltzer or someone mentioned in a report. I can’t find it. It wasn’t a major deal or a major amount, but my memory is that they got a few thousand a year more (maybe $5K-ish?) because of expectation/expense of things of a cosmetic nature that the men didn’t need like makeup and clothing for appearances and such. I know this is true in the TV industry for female news reporters because a guy can own a few suits and just change up the tie/shirt color combination every day and nobody notices but a female wouldn’t wear the same green or blue dress/blouse twice in two or three weeks. I know a few people in that industry and even at the local level they get stipends. Yeah. That might have been in the old days, but I know KAIRI (fka Kairi Sane) did an interview (with a Japanese news site) after leaving WWE, mentioning that WWE did not cover wardrobe expenses or anything while she was in NXT. And that Io had told her they still didn't as of a couple of months ago. That talent is expected to go out and buy outfits on their own budget. They don't get paid extra or anything to cover those expenses. Kairi specifically mentioned the only things WWE covered while in NXT is transportation (as they traveled by bus when it comes to national tours) and lodging (both locally and on tour). I know when Cena was to turn heel after the Rock loss, he paid to have a bunch of gear made only for the turn to get cancelled. He ended up leaving the money with the costume people to use for NXT guys. If they weren't paying for Cena at his peak, they damn sure aren't paying PC talent who they might cut in a few weeks. Booker is a prick. He was a prick when he left WWE the first time, he was a prick in tna and found out he wasn't the star he thought he was, and he's been a prick since returning to WWE as he knows he needs them to stay in the business.

If it had been and they opted to use people still technically under contract who were fired instead of names from the past...that would have been super awkward. Not good enough to keep, but forced to come back for a match they can't fill (though with 2.0 talent they easily would have come closer) cause they released people.

If it wasn't for Ryback blowing everyone out of the water, Booker would have some of the absolute worst wrestling takes by a veteran talent of the last few weeks.

Imagine telling people 20 years ago that Booker T would be a dumbass hated for shit he says, and Triple H would be loved.

Eh, I dont know that Booker is wrong per say in this instance - it's just good sense not to burn bridges, and it is unfair to throw Mandy under a bus and it might be that Mandy is perfectly happy using her own looks as a gimmick.
It doesnt stop most of what he says being total tripe, but in this case, it's not an invalid take.

Like many old veterans, Booker is loyal to whoever is paying him. WWE is paying him, so he will be a complete shill for them.

Booker's apparently signed to a legends deal with WWE through 2029, which explains the asskissing and bootlicking he seems to partake in on a weekly basis.

Saw some calling him Bootlicker T now. Book with that Billy Graham vibe of "I'll throw anyone you need under the bus, long as those checks keep clearing"

Booker T trains some really good wrestlers, gives them the kind of TV-centric training that the big leagues want, and yet, I feel like I don't see his wrestlers getting ahead in the world as I would expect.
Gotta wonder if his worst qualities rub off on some of them, because it would explain a lot.

Ember didn't "throw Mandy under the bus" and Booker clearly didn't listen to the interview if he thinks she did, just like he talked about AEW Dark being a demotion seconds after saying he had never watched it and didn't know what it was about. Dude just says things when he doesn't understand anything

Like, I feel like the fact the biggest talent to be signed to a promotion outside of Ember was AQA and that feels super weird considering.
