Toxic Attraction’s entire characters and presentation boils down to “they’re catty bullies who are sexy.” WWE beat you over the head with it in every way possible. And they’ve been booked to dominate the title scene for half a year now with no real growth or progression. It's no small part in why I quit watching NXT entirely.

What I get from what Ember is trying to say is that isn't the fact that Mandy dresses sexy is it the fact that they basically chose sex over talent and thats what the 2hr meeting encapsulated.
And thus they basically pushed her out and wanted her in a trainers role...and that the more sex driven direction correlates to the pushes women get now.
If I was someone who worked that much at my craft and get to the dream job and then learn oh yea you have alot more give but you can go be a trainer while the chicks we old f***s wish to bang get your spot now I would be pissed to.

Look at the WWE recent hires, the booking, there's no secret they are warping back to being the "sexy" womens division. Mandy Rose is everything they want, look at women like Nikita Lyons and Tiffany Stratton.. The womens revolution is dead in WWE.

I don't think most fans or wrestlers have anything against people who get signed from outside the business who actually respect it and want to learn the trade. However, the problems start when lets say to sum it up without an essay: NXT goes from developmental brand to a mix of developmental and established/independant back to developmental with some experience/tenured people still around and to boot going back to an emphasis on sex appeal. If the revamp was done partially too out of bitterness...that does no favors.
For many it feels backtracking in multiple ways. Especially when they go in a direction where you have people on cable television who aren't ready to be on television and have to rely on talent with a lot or in some cases barely enough experience to keep them looking good. Last year around this time or so there was talk of NXT: Evolve which was essentially what 2.0 is. Let talent get on 'television' though in that case, most likely the Network/Peacock instead of USA Network. And when ready bring them to NXT B&G. That would have worked better in the long run.

Doesn’t help they they’re not doing the Florida loop at exactly the time they arguably need to more than ever.

I find it interesting that there's so much controversy about how much clothing women wear in wrestling, but people like randy orton just be walking with a piece of cloth covering his junk..

The controversy isn't on if a woman wants to dress skimpy or not, its that WWE (the company) is heavily pushing them to do so, even if its outside of their comfort zone.

Doesn’t help they they’re not doing the Florida loop at exactly the time they arguably need to more than ever. I may be wrong, however unless they bring back NXT house shows this summer as speculated last year, doubt they ever will anytime soon. Part of 'budget cuts'? Or change in strategy? The latest 'experience' effort seems to be sending people to NXT UK for a set of tapings. The UK chants during the Von Wagner match on this week's episode may be the nicest if it continues. Doubt the UK fans at BT Spot will take issue with Ivy Nile coming over. But Lash, Wagner or the greener/more bland persons aren't going to go over well. It'll come across as turning what has been a brand that stands on its own and feels different to 'oh we're getting saddled with the stuff we were glad not to be part of."

I was talking more broadly here. The concept of women wearing too little in wrestling just seems odd when you compare it to what men are wearing... As far as "comfort zone" probably have a more nuanced view of it than most of the people on this board growing up as a performer.

If they started having Orton wear more latexy-looking gear and doing long lingering shots of his backside and having the commentators leer at the size of his... *ahem* Viper then it might be a decent comparison. Most wrestling outfits will be more tight/revealing than what people would wear for daily life, but I think it's disingenous to say that attire and presentation can't also be squarely aimed at sexuality beyond that.

Fightful Select on Ember and the whole "Dress Sexier" thing. It's so much more skeevy than I thought it was:
Why am I not shocked that Johnny Ace is likely behind all of this?

I am just talking on some like big picture human shit lol. Like whenever people were coming up for ideas for appropriate and inappropriate. Women gotta cover all sorts of parts or it might be deemed too sexy meanwhile men are just covering the smallest parts. It's just wild to me.

They wanted these women to dress this way backstage...that's just...ugh gross. Not even when wrestling, just in the locker rooms, hallways and offices. Ugh.
Nobody should be defending any of this.

First of all there's a huge difference in between wearing athletic wear that happens to be revealing and dressing sexy. Especially for women and how they're perceived by society.
Also the problem is pressure on how they're being told to dress to make some pervs horny. And this weird sort of reverse slut shaming towards Ember from some posters is gross.

That's gross man. Johnny Ace gotta go. The dude pretty much is set for life unless NXT 2.0 or some of its more higher profile newer talents bomb on the main roster, unfortunately. Any sane company would fire him, but this is WWE. They gotta get rid of both Pritchard and Ace.
