I loved this new episode. Showed so much of the innerworkings/politics of the Empire and how it's affecting the people. Makes you start to understand why things work and why things are breaking.

It's actually the Star Wars they've basically said they've always wanted, and yet...Just a quick follow up:

It's actually the Star Wars they've basically said they've always wanted, and yet...Just a quick follow up: This news bodes well, although it does highlight how cloak-and-dagger (not the Freeform show) streaming analytics are at the best of times. If Andor wasn't already locked into 2 seasons, I wouldn't blame anyone for stalling when it comes to checking the show out when so many other streaming shows live or die just on the first weekend of release.

Just catching up. Great recent episode.
When I saw how many episodes were remaining after the heist, I worried they’d be padding out the rest of the runtime with filler. But I loved how much more intrigue and tension last week’s episode managed to pile on.

One other thing I liked... how classic Stormtroopers aren't used as generic cannon fodder. I think they've only even been on screen once or twice tops. This show is doing a good job of showing all the non-Imperial Navy/Army type of guards/soldiers that the Empire used when it was still pretending to be Not-The-Evil-Empire.
In fact it's starting to feel like this show is going to be the transition point from "Hey guys we are the Republic's cool cousin, we are here to help!" to "We're just about done pretending to be nice".

For me, it's a combination of several things.</snip> Absolutely perfect summary. Andor is arguably the best piece of Star Wars media by virtue of that fact that it's not really trying to be a piece of Star Wars media. It's really well-made TV that just happens to be taking place in the Star Wars universe. I think it's its greatest strength and greatest weakness. Andor is really far away from wizards with laser swords and mind powers, spaceships dogfighting, good vs evil. Hugely interesting, unless you're a Star Wars fan that prefers all that. Regardless of the quality, which is very good, that's how it'll always be positioned. And good, better to be its own thing. Honestly, about my favourite character so far is {Spoiler}{Spoiler}{SPOILER: CLICK TO SHOW}Major Partagaz. The most even-handed, logical, tough love cold-hearted bastard you could wish for, a genuine highlight. Some real Patrician from Discworld vibes, you can almost admire him...from a safe distance.

Holy shit that labor prison was some nightmare level dystopian hell straight from an iPhone Factory. Really starts driving home to reason why so many people ended up with the attitude of "rather die fighting then live under Empire"

If Andor remains successful, then I hope Kathleen Kennedy thinks about revisiting how the Rebels found out about the second Death Star.
But instead of a grim-and-gritty Tony Gilroy take on the franchise, which has been great for Andor the TV show, make something like a Charlie Kaufman Rosencratz and Gildenstern Are Dead, absurdist drama called Manny Bothans Died to Bring Us This Information, and have one of the side characters be Dash Rendar if he's no longer in canon.

f*** yeah! This show is doing an great job showing just how bleak things are under the Empire, and that the Empire's actions keep giving birth to the Rebellion. "The more you tighten your grip, the more star systems will slip through your fingers."

I don't know what I'm going to do once this season ends. It's going to be a wait on all of my shows! (This, HOTD, Rings of Power)

I remember when Disney announced this show and to be honest I wasn't that hyped for it like I was for the other shows. But, like with all shows/movies Star Wars related I was going to give Andor a fair shot and so far its the best show they've made. This is probably the closest I'll get to a political show about comings and goings of the Galactic Senate. I'm more into the inner workings of the ISB than anything else (not to say that the rest of the show isn't good).

Andy Serkis just swooping in and stealing the entire show reminds me how criminally few awards the guy has for his acting work.

This show is so f***ing dope.
That ending had me so hyped, and they've built this prison escape up so well in TWO EPISODES
And man, do they do a great job of making these Empire dudes ASSHOLES. The whole origin story of their interrogation tapes is just...grimdark stuff.
This is my kind of Star Wars.

This show is absolutely gripping. The slow burn & political machinations only make the episodes of action feel all the more important. It has a real Cold War spy thriller vibe, & I absolutely dig it.

This show is still the best of all the Star War.
EDIT: Almost 3 years ago I said this in the Rise of Skywalker thread.
Andor still has the Empire and Rebellion stuff, but by golly, all the family drama between Mon Mothma, Perrin Fertha, and their daughter Leida is close enough to Kramer vs. Kramer to me.

I watched through episode 4 before going on vacation, only to come home and find my Disney Plus wasn't working. Five episodes came and went before I finally got things working yesterday and I was able to catch up. People should not binge watch Andor. Each episode needs to be viewed, followed by an hour or so of breathing and analyzing. Only then can anyone truly appreciate the layers to this show, which is a huge step forward from any previous Star Wars products.
And co-sign "Never more than 12."

Andy Serkis just swooping in and stealing the entire show reminds me how criminally few awards the guy has for his acting work. I feel he’s sort of inherited the Bob Hoskins role of an English character actor who’s seemingly effortlessly great in pretty much everything he does. That’s better than a gold statue in my book, it is.
