I'm been hearing a lot of rumors about the NFL banning the Eagle's QB sneak, which I think is ridiculous.

It's because of comments like the one Sean Payton made where he said if they don't make that illegal he's gonna run it 20 times a game...the NFL does not want a game where 2 teams decide they can get 3-4 yards on that every play and that just becomes what the entire game is cause it would be boring as f***.

What if a team realizes it's 5 yards if they use a DT to carry the ball in the scrum?

Yeah I’m pretty sure that the pushing a dude ahead for extra yards was illegal for a long time. Not sure when it changed.

I think it was only banned in CFB from the Bush Push. Linemen have aided guys downfield for years.

So the NFL reinstated the ability to push runners back in 2006 I believe.

Personally, I think it's really stupid that it's even being discussed. If you go back and look at all the times Philly ran it, Jalen Hurts gets the first down/TD because of the push of the o-line and his own strength.

Statistically he’s not as bad as he looks, but no one should ever pay him more than a decent backup gets paid. Then again, what backups have over $100M in earnings? He doesn’t need the work anymore.
