On the rams employing previous unknown dark arts of the salary cap, as a non rams fan It annoys me but also I can see it from the rams point of view which is win now and last I checked the winnings teams salary cap number isn’t in the standings or on the Lombardi trophy. Don't hate the player, hate the game. You can't blame a team for trying whatever they can to win within the rules. Especially when you consider that there's a similar situation in the NHL nowadays with the Tampa Bay Lightning. They spent a lot and won in 2020, people said "well that can't happen again, capping will eventually get to them." They won again in 2021, people said "well that can't happen again, capping will eventually get to them." Now they just might win a third straight in a couple weeks. So I'm sure the Rams saw the Lightning over there and said "Let's just keep cashing in as much as we can legally, it's been working great so far."

It also serves them well now as both LA teams are in desperate need of building a fan base.

Tyreek Hill really did just do an interview where he said he left KC because they did not give him the ball enough. He was third in the NFL in catches last season, with only Kupp getting an appreciable number of higher targets than he did. He even said that while professing that he did not want to come across as a diva. Not sure why he thought that he wouldn't come across that way by saying that....

Good luck catching bombs from Tua’s very un-Mahomes-like noodle, dude.

Scary Terry is holding out on Washington to get a new contract so he won't be at training camp

I still can’t understand why the NFL, who let’s not forget have in the past and likely will again, suspend players for stuff where no charges have been brought. Big Ben wasn’t charged with anything yet he was suspended games. They suspended Brady over footballs, yet they have decided to do nothing over a player who’s been accused by 24 women of sexual misconduct ? Really ?

I highly suspect that he will be put on the Commissioner's Exempt List in perpetuity, especially since it seems like more shit is likely to come to fruition. This is especially true since these upcoming trials will be civil trials, where the rules are completely different. Each trial is likely to call other victims to support their claims, which can't be done in criminal trials but probably can be done in a civil trial. This means that each trial will simply be a cesspool where each one will prove to be worse than the last. He'll likely languish on the list until every damned one of these trials are done. Even if he starts settling lawsuits he'll still have to languish because once he starts settling the women's lawyer can more easily start getting other women to bring forth lawsuits since Watson will likely be stuck settling all lawsuits once he starts. Related to all of that, Watson was ABYSMAL answering questions from the press today. He can't even properly prep himself for the questions he absolutely had to know that he was going to get. He said all of the wrong things, sounded like he was lying, and sounded a little sociopathic.

He came across as tone deaf and for stuff he said he couldn’t talk about, he seemed to talk about it a bit. That line about him being sorry him saying he didn’t do it triggered people was especially 🫣and I’d say him legal team were reaching for the good whiskey after that.

Colts starting strong safety Khari Willis is retiring after 3 seasons to pursue the ministry. I think the team was not taken by surprise though, as they already brought in 2 veterans, drafted Nick Cross, and signed a couple UDFAs who are viewed as hybrid linebackers/safeties (a nice combo to take some SS snaps).

Eagles finally got more safety depth, not sure if they'll still try for more but that was a big need hashtagdaley/JudasDay I know he dropped a big INT in the playoffs but... tell it to me straight, decent pickup?

I hate him almost as much as Jim. Good fxxxing riddance. 🤬
He’s exactly fine though. He’s not going to blow you away with anything, most the time you won’t even realize he’s out there, but that goes for both good and bad. Never makes the great play, only makes the horrible play once in the NFCG costing his team the Super Bowl. Perfectly serviceable.

I assume this is their safety signing if they can't land Jessie Bates either

He’s a slightly younger (by 1 year), slightly less effective version of Rodney McLeod, a safety your team let walk.

I just saw a PFF article that ranked the QBs on their deep ball performance last season. Carson Wentz ranked 8th, which made me laugh. He had 3 types of deep passes last season:
1) A slot receiver blew past the coverage where his strong arm could take advantage,
2) MPJ had multiple defenders mauling him to draw a PI penalty,
3) Same as #2 but MPJ muscled his way to make the damned catch anyways.

There’s talk that Watson might get suspended for a season, which will be a damned steal for Watson in retrospect. Less than one game for each incident, especially if more come out of the woodwork? Talk about a bargain for him.
Me? I’d do two things:
1) Put Watson on the commissioner’s exempt list until EVERY case is over, whether by settlement or court finding. This does two things. The first is that it gives time for any more cases to come out so you don’t under-punish him. The second is that it will give the other 31 owners the pound of Haslam’s flesh that they all want.
2) Once all the cases are over, you’ll be free to talk to all of the accusers without risking affecting the legal proceedings. At that point, every incident gets a separate punishment. That way you don’t run the risk of under-punishing Watson. Yes, that may very well mean that he sits for a year, gets 6 games for each incident to be adjudicated to 2-3 games each.
