Rayne was never that good onscreen and turned that into being at the top of one of the more innovative women's divisions in North American wrestling The talent in AEW all leave her in the dust - with her advising them they could all become even better, frankly Apparently Maria Kanellis was one of the people behind the revival of the ROH Women's division as genuinely good so it's often not the people you'd expect to be really good at it.

Contrasting this is of course Gail Kim who has only ever been in business for herself, and when women were getting more prominent spots, instead of celebrating it she went all "Where's my hug?" over the fact the NXT Horsewomen weren't shouting her out for being the main reason they were able to be taken seriously or whatever.

Exactly. The all time greats, the naturals, they don't know how to work to become better the same way as someone who doesn't have it in their blood

A very nice PR way of saying "yeah I finally admit I need people I can trust to do other jobs because everything going through me will cause issues"

She is right, the division has had lack of character development since it launched, outside of a couple of wrestlers the rest are just generic...

I haven’t watched Madison Rayne since around the Beautiful People, but she seemed green back then. She must have improved tremendously.

Something that I think got overlooked when Swole left (understandably) was that AEW relied heavily on talent to create stuff on their end as well. If I remember right, she even mentioned that she was not super comfortable coming up with ideas and needed some guidance and she felt the same was true for many of the women.
