There's a big difference between "stupid shit you want to do" and "stupid shit you're being made to do by an out of touch sexpest old f***."

Moxley left WWE cause they made him do stupid shit. Now he's doing stupid shit all on his own. Dude's happy and living his best life, as opposed to before, when he wasn't, and was in his own personal hell I doubt he cares what IWC critics think.

I do wonder if we'd be getting this same argument if say Mox was jetting over to be in the G1 while still being interim champion, or if that's prestigious enough in the minds of folks making this criticism that it'd be handwaved.
Also nobody seems to be complaining about Pac sticking around random UK indies defending that belt or whenever the Lucha Bros pop back into AAA for a cup of coffee.

Moxley left WWE cause they made him do stupid shit. Now he's doing stupid shit all on his own. This kind of stuff is so boring. His WWE run got unwatchable because he clearly hated what he was doing and he was having incredibly boring matches the last year or so there. His matches this year with Jericho, Tom Lawlor, Takeshita, Biff, Garcia, Rush, Tana, Yuta, Ospreay, Danielson and the two 10 man tags/the tag match against FTR are all basically better than anything he had done in the WWE after his 2016 Smackdown run by a colossal amount. He's also BARELY doing any deathmatches, blood isn't a death match. It's such a tiring complaint.

Moxley left WWE cause they made him do stupid shit. Now he's doing stupid shit all on his own. Not gonna lie, I loved a lot of the stupid stuff they had him do. Because despite how much he found it awful, dude put his all into making it work and making it entertaining. I loved when he did stuff like showing up with a stolen hot dog cart or returning in an ambulance. I still like Mox, but imo he really doesn't need to be on these small shows getting cut open constantly. I get worried about infections and bloodborne illnesses that could be floating around. Also, I've not seen enough of Effy to have an opinion on him, I've only seen the clip of him and Mox kissing. But dude needs to work on his punches and needs some kneepads.

Especially as some of it seemed such a minor thing. But then you had the Bane nonsense even he couldn't salvage, maybe that retrospectively made everything else worse.

I mean...Effy 'jerking it' wasn't a good part, either. And from what Effy was implying on twitter, Mox is the one who came up with a lot of the spots. That f***ing rules I hope Effy had to talk Mox down from getting naked in the ring

So is there any actual legitimate reason for this other than personal dislike of GCW or I guess you chose not to read or chose to ignore To summarize - Effy’s punches were horrible and the whole thing made a huge star, a world champion, feel small and silly.

BTW Seth Rollins was spotted backstage at the GCW show. I'm guessing he was a guest of Jon's. Love seeing the Shield boys staying friends like this.

And let's be honest, I doubt he hated ALL the "stupid shit" he was doing or that he wanted to be super serious bad ass. Man was doing goofy shit with Yano the first chance he got in New Japan. Man was just burnt out on all the shit he was going through in WWE My takeaway from the Jericho interview was that Moxley understands that he's really good at being funny, he just hated that Vince saw him as only a funny guy. Jon Moxley took the freedom of being out of WWE and went right to New Japan where he beat up Shota Umino and then carried the lifeless body of the rookie he had beaten to death out with him to the post-match interview, at which point he let the collapsed body of his opponent hang off of him, asking him questions he didn't answer, like some kind of pro wrestling Weekend at Bernie's. He made the corpse carry the US title and said things like "I speak the language of violence, but I'm pretty good with words." He's never been averse to some humour. In WWE though? He singled out actual complaints with what Vince thought funny. Shit like driving his car down the wrong side of the road to be 'wacky'. Shit like that. He felt like Vince's idea of crazy made him sound like an idiot, and it was an every week kind of thing. The character Vince gave him was a doofus nutjob who did prop comedy and had to get an ass vaccine because Vince thinks butts are funny. He articulated his issues with the Vince stuff well, and yeah, simplifying it down to "He hated doing funny things" is a massive misrepresentation of a dude talking for like twenty minutes straight about what actually bothered him.

Teasing aside, Seth seems SO much less insecure nowadays, and I imagine they may have gotten in touch due to both becoming fathers around the same time, or maybe due to Jon getting sober. Could be any number of reasons, but it feels like it's been forever since the goofy jabs.

You didn't mention the punches in the OP You also seem to think it was silly because it had comedy elements and was for a small promotion Ric Flair built decades of respect off doing this shit as NWA champion, including comedy spots like showing his ass every match

Seth was Night 2 of Homecoming because WWE was running a house show right across the street. Mox vs. EFFY was Night 1. It's a good narrative, but Seth was running really late for it to be true. Now, maybe he wanted to see his former co-worker renew his wedding vows.

Maybe I’m a biased primarily WWE fan. But I watched Mox vs Effy on GCW tonight. It was the drizzling shits and makes Mox looks like a scrub. The good news is I don’t think many were watching. But Tony needs to be more careful about what he lets his guys do. I love the open borders idea. But this was too much. Agree. AEW has a chance to be big time. Need to cut ties with low level garbage. Keep good relations with NJPW and Impact but that's enough. Really makes Mox look like a goof. Imagine Roman ever mixing it up in the low low minor leagues. Just because he is front of 6,000 people with lighting doesn't make wrestling Austin Theory major league.

Just to reframe it a bit smaller promotions benefit from aew stars. If that then helps keep them grow they can carry on helping to produce TK's future stars. Everybody wins.
