Maybe I’m a biased primarily WWE fan.
But I watched Mox vs Effy on GCW tonight. It was the drizzling shits and makes Mox looks like a scrub. The good news is I don’t think many were watching. But Tony needs to be more careful about what he lets his guys do. I love the open borders idea. But this was too much.

Is it because he kissed a man?

I haven't seen the match, but it's shocking to me if Mox vs EFFY was bad, both of these guys know how to work, and EFFY essentially carried Jeff Jarrett in a match a bit ago
I know GCW does some crazy and dumb shit, but this is what Mox wanted to do, this is the stuff WWE would never let him do. Like it or not essentially, this is his decision, and unless the matches are threatening his health in some way, I don't think AEW's gonna interfere.

Jon Moxley has been GCW champion since September and it was never a problem. It'd make Khan look like a real dick to suddenly pull him without warning and hurt AEW's good will more than any bad showing from a single match.
This is assuming this thread comes from a place of good faith and isn't just a smoke screen for homophobia.

I watched the match and it was the most entertained by a Mox match I've been in a long ass time. I mean it was still kinda formulaic from him, and the suuuuper Paradigm Shift sucks balls, but the psychology was fun to watch.

Not seen the match, but that kind of backs up why my perspective on this sort of thing is, "I don't care what happens in other companies, do whatever." He wants to work there, fine, if he has a bad match in GCW it has no impact on whether I enjoy him in AEW so it's not my problem.
Same reason I think it's dumb to just have FTR sit at the top of the rankings for months while refusing to actually give them a title shot because you don't want them losing in NJPW or AAA while they're the AEW tag champions. Like, it's a different show, what difference does it make?

I haven't seen the match, probably won't, but even if it was a match I personally would find bad, who really cares? The kinds of people who are going to see Moxley on GCW are the type of people who would buy a GCW show. I don't think it's all that potentially damaging to him to be off doing something else in another promotion, especially for a smaller audience. If Moxley was over there throwing around ethnic slurs and a Warner Discovery exec was watching then that'd be pretty bad, but even if it was just "a bad match", so what? Everyone's gonna have bad matches. There's been bad matches on AEW television itself. Moxley could be pinned by ten guys in a row for Suplex Cigar Wrestling dressed like a circus clown and it's not going to make me watch him on AEW TV and go 'man I just can't take this dude seriously' because I can distinguish one show from another.

Hell, on the subject of AEW having bad matches, Moxley managed to survive that Hager match with minimal damage and that's arguably the worst match in the company's history.

And honestly while the match with EFFY wasn't the best match I've seen (from either man to be fair) it was nowhere near the ballpark of Mox vs. Hager bad.

Zero problem with the kissing.
Effys Shane McMahon punches at the end though were horrible.
I just felt the whole presentation felt small to me. But we all have our different opinions.

Is it because he kissed a man? It is for me. I would rather see Sammy Guevara and Darby Allin do that.

I haven't watched the full match. That said, I did see Effy's closing strikes and they were awful. I was at Hammerstein and wasn't blown away by Effy's wrestling. I think BUSSY in general is a good example of two really good characters that the fans catch onto that can't light the world on fire wrestling-wise.
That said, Mox should be allowed to work where he wants to work, I guess. I could see some justified concern with Mox having crazy matches before All Out. He can't get hurt.

I would love to see Effy and a few others that will be on the card for Effys Big Gay Brunch show up at All Out since they will be in the Chicago area that weekend. Plus it would be Awesome as f**k to see Kidd Bandit on AEW again

Effy is definitely a better character than a wrestler and I'm surprised anyone thought the match would be good, but....
Except for his match with Deppen, I haven't really been impressed with any of Mox's GCW title defenses, and I don't think it helps him or GCW for him to lose the title to an aging, broken down Nick Gage.
Mox getting mobbed by fans during his entrance and having a beer shoved in his face was a terrible look too.
They should've had Cogar win it at the Hammerstein show, or strapped up Deppen or Blake Christian when they had the chance.

Cogar bounced before the Hammerstein I think that was the plan and formed Circle 6. I really don't know who can beat Mox now. Whoever does gets a massive rub, but it might be underwhelming as well
