Bumping this because he is about to go 0-9 if they plan to have Pac drop the title to Take(rumored to be in Full Gear due to being removed from an indy show that was scheduled that night ) Takeshita could just be on Full Gear, not fighting PAC at all Orange by all accounts should take it this Wednesday especially with the story they're telling

If OC doesn't win then yes that's a dud on AEW's part. No disrespect to Pac who has had a good reign, but let him and the Lucha Bros focus on the trios title for a bit. Give OC a short reign and have him drop to Ego or Takashita

I think Orange takes it Wednesday. Or, hear me out. OC is about to win, when PAC takes out a hammer and sneaks out a win with it. No one will expect it. Think of the HEAT

As much as I want Wor Kid to retain, Orange Cassidy needs to walk out of Toronto the champion. He needs the win more and to show that when the chips are down, he can bring home the bacon.

My heart simply cannot take seeing him lose again. OC deserves this big win so much.
I have to say, AEW has been promoting this match on social media much more than the Grand Slam match. They’ve been posting random clips of their feud throughout the almost three years they’ve been rivals. Makes it feel like a bigger deal.
Also if he does win I hope one lone streamer flies into the ring rather than a bunch of confetti.

Also let me be clear. OC is a guy who doesn't need a title to be over and not winning it I don't think will ruin him.
But he does deserve the moment.

I kind of wonder if the Acclaimed forcing the tag title change combined with thr suspensions made them pivot away from OC winning at Grand Slam. But they've really been pushing the idea that Pac doesn't respect OC despite always going toe to toe with him and also really pushing that Pac needed to chest to win. Could be wishful thinking but I get the impression there's a good story there but for various reasons (some on AEW some not) that has caused it not ti be given the attention it should.

It's become a running criticism I mention to my AEW watching friends. They've basically built him as the wrestler who can beat anyone ever unless a titles on the line in which case he slips over the nearest banana. You don't want to be the Lex Luger.

It'd be good to give Canada a feel-good title change and OC winning the All Atlantic Championship would do that.
I'm in the camp of thinking OC doesn't really need a title and won't be ruined if he never gets one, but I'd probably do the switch. I don't really like the idea of PAC having two belts either.

Orange may be a comical character, but the act is supposed to be a way to confuse his opponents so that he can get a clever win against them once in a while. Portraying Orange as an idiot who constantly gets foiled by cheating does him no favors.

If the character is constantly losing title matches and they never let him go higher than a certain spot on the card, there's zero reason to get invested in the character's ascent. Either he wins a title match soon or there's a very obvious ceiling for him.

At this stage, dude has been given so many title shots he really needs to beat PAC this time.

I thought the idea was to get over that Pac couldn't beat OC clean. Which is a good angle in theory. Now the execution may not have been good. But intent was there,

Right. Orange may be a comical character, but the act is supposed to be a way to confuse his opponents so that he can get a clever win against them once in a while. But intent was there, I'm also referring to the feud with Adam Cole where Orange got low-blowed more than once before their Lights Out match when Orange finally thought to use a cup.
