Obviously, the regular doomsayers are out - but that said, 818K for a go-home show isn't good. I'm hoping things pick up for them a bit after Full Gear.

Hm. Still #4, and I've usually put more stock in that number than the total viewers. Hell of a noticeable drop, regardless.

This is genuinely a bad number. Probably the first time I’ve genuinely thought that about an AEW rating.
But, even with the product arguably at its most stagnant ever, and critical acclaim almost objectively being the worst it’s ever been, the show was still #4 on cable. I’m not going to disingenuously try and spin this into a “good” thing, but I do think that shows how healthy a product AEW is overall.

Bury the firm or at least put them in midcard storylines, keep them far away from the World Title picture, they gotta wrap up other feuds too.

They did a number randomly as low during the summer and recovered pretty quickly. Will have to see the pattern because they randomly get a bad rating every few months.

Yeah, that's pretty bad. I'm sure it'll rebound next week though, so I'm not sweating it. I think they need to do a reset after the PPV and start new, fresh stories and feuds because, while I enjoy the product, so much stuff has felt like it's been going forever.

Behold, another ruinous collapse for the esteem of your niche freak sideshow. When you realize there is no marketability in a man who doesn't care and in the interest Sahara of athletic, fast-paced wrestling, you will go mad like protagonists from the pages of Lovecraft, unable to reconcile your failures and your ostracization from society with the continued march of a world that cares not for you. Bask in this number for it is the highest you shall ever see again. The rains beat down heavy upon your fetid t-shirt company, and the mud will give out soon beneath your feet

This happens every so often with AEW, and then they rebound and this turns out to be nothing or an outlier
I do think getting guys like The Elite back is a good thing, and hoping that things bounce back for the PPV
In the meantime the people who have been concern trolling and crying for AEW's downfall for three years can get their yucks in because they apparently have no other life! Which I'd say is harsh but... these people wish for a wrestling company to die daily...

Looks like a lot of people weren't watching TV last night if .28 was good enough for #4 and only about 20k off from #3 (SportsCenter at .30). #1 and 2 were NBA games that Dynamite at its strongest wouldn't touch (0.55 and 0.53).
It's not a great number, but I think the doomsaying is premature, too.

Full Gear feels like it has the least amount of hype going into it if any AEW PPV in a long time.
TK needs to use Full Gear as a major reset.
The product has felt listless and not all that compelling for months now. Use the PPV as a way to start over.

The product has felt listless and not all that compelling for months now. Use the PPV as a way to start over. I don't get this "The product is lifeless and hasn't been compelling for months" when they had a million viewers for like six straight weeks, and that was not very long ago at all. I think it's fair to argue if certain feuds have lost steam or not, but acting like AEW's been going through this grand drought of stagnation is not true whatsoever, and the ratings have shown that. This is the lowest AEW rating on a Wednesday in months easily. Before that they'd as said been at a million or close to it, and that doesn't exactly match what you're saying, especially when the show is still number 4 on cable, only behind Basketball. I do however, agree that using Full Gear to shift some things up, would be welcomed. They need some new feuds and they need some current ones to move on soon.
