That's a random drop. Dynamite has been pretty consistent in the ratings lately so I'm surprised to see such a sudden drop.

Full Gear feels like it has the least amount of hype going into it if any AEW PPV in a long time.TK needs to use Full Gear as a major reset. The product has felt listless and not all that compelling for months now. Use the PPV as a way to start over.
All Out 2022 never happened?

All Out 2022 was a whirlwind of chaos that was capped off by an even crazier whirlwind of chaos so I'd consider that PPV in a special category

They did a number randomly as low during the summer and recovered pretty quickly. Will have to see the pattern because they randomly get a bad rating every few months. While that may be true; this ain’t ideal right before a PPV That depends on DVR+3 numbers more than anything. If this was just a weird week where a lot of people DVR'd last night's episode for whatever reason, it being a sign of PPV performance is pretty insignificant. Like as bad as Rampage live numbers have been lately, a lot of people are still watching it overall (someone posted a statistic that showed about half of Rampage's total audience is DVR watchers). Just not Fridays at 10PM Eastern.
That said, there's a good chance that PPV numbers are down for Full Gear 2022 for reasons completely unrelated to TV ratings. Like economic downturn and inflation influencing spending habits.

I’m so god damn tired of ratings talk. This is where I point out, as usual, that the expected ratings by Turner before the debut of AEW was ~300k so they overshot that by a mile. They’re fine. Look at the ratings overall. They were beat by 2 NBA games and SportsCenter following the second game.

The product has felt listless and not all that compelling for months now. Use the PPV as a way to start over. The card itself makes me think that’s the plan. MJF’s coronation, probably a couple splits, Saraya’s debut, the elite etc..this feels like a proving ground and a “Day 1” sort-of, for this “new” AEW generation. That number’s not good any way you spin it. But people are right this is a random thing that’s happened before, usually followed up by a rebound. Hoo boy..Full Gear & next weeks Dynamite and rating will be important and more telling than this one. Edit: I forgot what day next Wednesday is, n/m, that shows probably dying regardless.

Why do I have a feeling that if I look away from the board for like half an hour I'm gonna come back to

More Britt, More Jay Lethal, more repetitive booking will surely go well!
TK about to learn wild booking with bad moments better than boring booking where nothing happens.

Historically their go home shows are poor
I watched this episode in full and don't remember much

Down 18% from last year’s go-home show. The last four weeks are down 16% year-over-year. (Source: Meltzer boards)

I do hope some angles get wrapped, because if anything, I do think the shows are great, but that some of the feuds have run their course.

TV as a whole is down. Taking that into account, there's still a year over year decline but you'd expect that when you brought in three major stars around this time last year.

You think TK will have a thank you viewers tweet today? I wanna see a passive aggressive one. “Gee, thanks a lot guys. It’s so great to be number FOUR”

Agreed I was hoping that would come with the ROH separation but it may be time to pull the trigger earlier due to everything

Definitely a surprising drop right before the PPV...Attendance is down as well unfortunately It all depends on when you compare things. Last year in December/January, they were doing relatively low attendance numbers as they went back to Daily's Place and did mediocre numbers in the Carolinas. They'll be on the west coast this year where they already have good houses in Seattle and LA. It heavily depends on the markets.

JB vs Christian has a bigger chance to end, BCC vs JAS might be dragged until Final Battle.
