Maybe I will catch flack for this one.
But IMO that Rhea and Dom pairing is not really a story but a backdrop to Dom and Rey.
And it aint even doing anything for Rhea now because she is getting overshadowed by Dom and his assheaded shenanigans.

I only really follow the discourse on this forum, but anytime Judgment Day shows up without her, all I read is "Where's Rhea?! She feels like the leader of this group!" and I don't think those people are just going for the BDSM jokes. Doesn't feel like she's overshadowed in the slightest.

Nothing. Ratings have shown their direction isn't hurting them one iota.

What was the last good story in the women's division? I'm not expecting Bloodline here, but for the most part they are given very basic storylines ("let's fight for the belt!") and the match quality hasn't been good enough to overcome it. Maybe the Otis/Mandy/Sonya storyline? That was three years ago, lol. Fiend Alexa was great at the start. There was that Sonya/Naomi feud, which I have no idea what it was about, but at least it was away from the belts, lol. Sasha/Bayley? I think that was okay. We got a great match out of it. Bianca's revenge against Becky at WrestleMania? Almost forgot Billie Kay's search for a new tag team partner. That one wins.

I just feel like it's been a while since we had a truly compelling main event level women's storyline revolving around the title. Bianca's feuds seem very by the numbers more often than not. Ronda and Charlotte's feuds did nothing for me as champion. I feel like Becky tried the hardest with her feuds when she had the title but it was all hindered by her heel schtick not really working. They've all had good to great matches along the way but nothing has really hooked me in.

What HHH is waiting on with IYO and Asuka idk but I would thought after the reaction their little promo in Japanese got he would have gone all in on that.
It is a fresh feud with alot of history between the two and he could also call on KAIRI to give more fire to it and that is without even then bringing up IYO's sister.
Idk if he is waiting to get the title onto Asuka so IYO can take it from her (which should be happen IMO) or anything else but that is THE 1 on 1 feud both from a story and especially in ring perspective that so many have been clammoring for and HHH has only kept teasing it and evereytime it happens you get a brief glimpse of what them actually not holding back looks like.

Agree. Hell, the crowd at Raw was chanting WE WANT MAMI when they thought she wasn't there.

A solo Asuka/Iyo feud is a no-brainer. Been waiting for it since their epic promo battle late last year, really.

Sonya/Naomi was very long, but did lead to some fun moments like Sonya's sudden animosity for Cameron as soon as she learned she was Naomi's friend.
Charlotte/Rhea's gotten off to a promising start with their promos so far, though there's still a lot of build to go.

I think with a lot of it, it comes down to WWE just needing to accept that so much of the roster had been booked to oblivion or portrayed as jobbers that it's going to take time to build them back up. And really the only way to do 6hst is to let them wrestle and have hood matches

Honestly, even so, the alternative is to not have a women's division outside of, like, two or three women on a show which does nothing for a) anyone on the roster right now and b) anyone in developmental. The other plan would be to call a bunch of people up but even then, there's Roxanne Perez, maybe Zoey Starks and a large gap of people needed for the show and still need a bit of time. EDIT: I know people might bring up Meiko but honestly, at this point, Meiko is more needed in developmental to help people.

This is all the result of sacrificing everyone on the roster to The Horsewomen/Ronda/Bianca over what is now closing in on a decade. There's no quick fix.
I mean, if they actually gave anything close to a f*** about the tag division, you at least have a vehicle there, but that has been a complete failure.

Which is why kingoftheindies' approach makes sense from a logical standpoint and also one they'd have to do unless they're going to clear out the deadwood and sign half of the TJPW and STARDOM rosters in the space of a week.

A solo Asuka/Iyo feud is a no-brainer. Been waiting for it since their epic promo battle late last year, really. I mean its a no brainer in any other promotion, but the fact is that WWE really doesn't seem to like the idea of doing Japanese vs Japanese matches, probably because they fear for the promo stuff. There's also the fact that Iyo is absolutely ice cold at the moment, with the cherry on top being her losing in four minutes to Michin for no reason, and constantly getting chumped on by anyone even remotely credible. Don't get me wrong, Iyo has her fair share of wins, but she doesn't feel like a big deal at the moment, and it's mainly because WWE refused to let her go over women when it mattered. Like a good example would be the night after Summerslam, where she could have gone over Bianca and established herself (and Damage CTRL) as an actual huge threat. And Bianca wouldn't have been harmed by it. But instead the match was laid out to where Bianca dominated like 95% of it and never looked in any danger of losing. While Iyo got very little actual sustained offense in, and the little she did get in was pretty much no sold by Bianca. Like mentioned above, the problem is that everyone that isn't a horsewoman (sans Bayley at this point), Bianca, or Ronda is treated as third string at best.

I'm going to sound like I'm singling them out, and I mean, I guess I kinda am, but Sasha/Bayley doing the 2 man power trip and holding every title while clowning the entire division for what felt like a year did some real long term damage.

Oh, for sure, but I'd say a big chunk of that is the circumstances of what they were given for the pandemic. At one point, it was just Bayley and Sasha for star power, everyone else either wasn't booked, not a big enough name or didn't want to get vaccinated.

I don't even mind them having to go over, because as you said, lack of star power was a very real component. My issue was *how* they kept doing it, which usually involved a) them calling opponent( or opponents if it were tag situation) losers and then...beating them over and over, or b) them just making their opponent(s) look like complete blithering idiots
