He almost has to win now. I don't care about the Roman vs. Cody plans. This was amazing and would be bad if Sami takes a "L" after all of this.

Sami winning the titles and losing them back before WrestleMania could be an option.
He gets his moment this way.

Def a Montreal Screwjob level event happening for Sami. He will get the visual pin but he isn't winning Money segment tho. Two babyfaces spilling their hearts out and Cody pep talk made you believe he can do it I still think we get a Kevin Owens save at the end so that the Montreal fans don't go home pissed. That's what I think will happen also. They will have Sami beaten down and handcuffed to the ropes when KO runs in and clears the ring of the Bloodline.

I'll talk a little real life here on this one:
I've got cerebral palsy, and it's not usually annoying but for whatever reason, I was having a rough time getting out of my seat at the show - I was by the ramp. I had to go to guest services and ended up getting switched from a row five, right at the ramp seat to the ADA section. Needless to say, I kind of felt shitty as that's never really happened before. I wasn't really feeling the show as a result, but then the Cody/Sami segment happened.
That was enough to get me to forget about feeling really shitty about myself and sad at the show to being invested in something. One of the better segments I can remember in awhile. I didn't stay the whole show because I just felt bummed and out of it, but I am very, very glad I was in the arena for that promo. That was special.

Sami, Cody, and Heyman are all on a different level right now.

Just watched in on Youtube. Great job by Sami in actually showing uncertainty.
It so refreshing to have a babyface that actually goes "my opponent is really f***ing good and I don't know if I can beat him."
That self-doubt make the journey so much more real and makes me want to cheer for Sami even more.

If Jey turns on Sami and sticks with The Bloodline that might give the inevitable tag title match enough heat to make it a worthy main event at Mania.
Worst case is KO turning on Sami to cost him the match or Roman winning clean, flat in the middle of the ring.

That promo left me feeling WWE has to pivot and Sami needs to be the dude standing tall at Mania. Cody can have his moment at SummerSlam, this just makes sense for Sami

I honestly feel like doing a triple threat would hurt Cody a lot.
Do not put them in direct competition. They’re over babyfaces, united front is the best course of action.

Not suggesting either way they should go in one particular direction, but there are interesting narratives both in Roman going into Mania as the final boss champion, or as a vengeful challenger alongside Cody.
If they do decide to put on another Triple Threat, that would be a different spin on what they did with the Edge and Bryan dynamic in fairness.

The only thing I remember about Bryan being added to that match at mania was people swearing up and down for weeks about how the match is going to be rejected if Bryan wasn’t added and how Edge would be booed. Then the match happens and Edge is like 2x as popular as everyone else on the card.

Sami winning the titles and losing them back before WrestleMania could be an option. He gets his moment this way. THIS is the worst thing they could do. Because if you carrot and the stick then Cody undeservingly is going to catch the flack for this especially at Mania because the audience will just take it out on him. Sami can get his win over Roman immediately after Mania if they want to do but they absoloutley should not just give Sami the title only to snatch it from him to get back to their Mania plans because then what was even the point? and you damage everyones story by doing this. They need to stick to the plan as they have it....Sami comes within a hair of winning only to get screwed over...he and KO reunite to go after the Uso's. IMO you cannot deviate from that plan without completely throwing out the Uso's and KO...because what do you do with them after? There is a difference here between what the audience wants and and sticking to a plan that works out for everyone at Mania.

I said it in the live thread. Really really ballsy decision to do this segment. They really could have kept them separated to make sure things didn’t go sideways. Instead, they faced it head on and trusted both guys to knock it out of the park. A segment like that is an example of the change in booking philosophy since Vince left creative, it’s not all perfect but they’re willing to trust the talent more out there. I thought the same thing. From the moment Cody Rhodes won the Royal Rumble and The Bloodline turned on Sami Zayn, I felt that the best idea would be to keep Cody Rhodes and Sami Zayn as far apart as possible, so as to not risk either one siphoning off the other's heat. And I'm here to say I was flat-out wrong. Cody Rhodes stood in the ring with Sami Zayn in front of a red-hot crowd and the crowd was fully behind BOTH of them. It was a gutsy call, but the right one. By hiding one, or pretending one doesn't exist while the other is on screen, it just makes it more obvious. You need to charge head-on into the fact that you have two top babyfaces chasing Roman Reigns at essentially the same time and trust that the booking has been done so well that the crowd will support both of them. As for Sami Zayn winning on Saturday, I never thought of it as a possibility until last night. I don't think there's much of a chance, but I went from a zero percent chance to maybe a 20 percent chance. Someone earlier mentioned Eddie Guerrero at No Way Out 2004, and how if it's the right time to pull the trigger, you do it even if it's a month and a half before WrestleMania. I still think the best course of action is Owens/Zayn vs. The Usos on Night One and Cody vs. Roman on Night Two, because that puts a bow on the entire two-year Bloodline saga over two nights and gives you two enormous main events, rather than a single triple threat match that effectively leaves Kevin Owens and The Usos on the sidelines. But let's just say I won't be astonished if Sami Zayn wins in front of a frothing Montreal home crowd. Before last night, I would have been.

The fans trust the story now too. Compared to like a decade ago when they had babyface Roman and Bryan in the ring together prior to Wrestlemania and the crowd was shitting all over it. Fans seem to understand that Sami isn't going to be pushed aside into the equivalent of a nothing midcard match with Sheamus or a multi-man ladder match with no build. They know he's part of a bigger story and he's going to have an amazing moment at Wrestlemania. It's why I think the PPV will end with the crowd wildly cheering KO and Sami re-uniting and leaving the arena buzzing with excitement rather than feeling depressed or like it's a huge demotion for Sami.

Yeah, I’ll share the sentiment of Sami winning and then losing before WrestleMania to be an awful idea.
It sucked when it happened to Mankind and it’d suck even worse here since there’s WAY more investment and believably in Sami actually being a part of the ‘Mania main event.
It’d also take away from Cody’s Mania win. It’s why I pitched my original two night idea because you can craft a story from it.

Very powerful segment, and proof that Zayn has what it takes to be a world champion on the main roster.

Not gonna lie I was in the camp that was worried that Sami's natural momentum would halter Cody but not only did he hold his own he lifted Sami in this segment. It was beautifully done and should allow both to co-exist going forward.

Unfortunately for Sami you don't end Roman's streak a month before your biggest show of the year.
And you can't have Sami win at Mania because he can't be the champ for their next Saudi show right after Mania. Sami will have to wait for his moment.
