Man, whoever put together that Seth bit needs to be slapped. Seth too for accepting that whole idea and going through with it. Jesus. Besides that, thank God. Glad we can get that out of our system and get on with giving Cody some actual ass challengers. Nah it made perfect sense. It played into Roman and Seth history especially their previous match. Seth was the only person Roman couldn’t beat. He got disqualify because he couldn’t let go of Seth dressing up and torturing him with the shield motif. Roman lost the match because he couldn’t let go of Rollins original betrayal. The same betrayal that kept popping up throughout his reign. It’s so perfect for his reign to end because of the Shield connection. |

I will say Roman hitting Seth with the chair was valid because it showed how Roman couldn’t let go of the past/Seth destroying the Shield and it cost him everything. But him getting bitched out and swatted like a fly after his cool shield entrance was like damn lmao Again, like, if the first part happened, I’d get it and it would add something to the wider history the match wanted to close the chapter on but it wasn’t and it just felt weird. And I get the wider context but man, you could have executed it so differently and better to add more. |

I'm glad that they put the title on him. This is something that needed to happen tonight and I'm glad that the WWE was smart enough to pull the trigger and give the fans what they've been wanting.

On another note, in his press conference Cody said that when he got backstage HHH and Nick Khan gave him a watch that Dusty pawned to pay for Cody's acting lessons. Now that's a story!
