I remember about ten years ago people commenting on how YouTube comment sections were the most vile places on Earth. Just full of terrible people acting terribly.
It seems like that’s the vast majority of the world now

I guess I understand the appeal of streaming services like Tidal and Spotify, but I just have WAY too many MP3s ripped from CDs and downloaded off Youtube etc to mess with streaming sites.
The Itunes media player is all I need

I’ve barely looked back since.

Personally, I don't get "binging" a show. Maybe it's because I never have any time to sit down and just marathon-watch anything (and how the hell does anyone have that much time?), but also... it doesn't give you any time to properly digest an episode? Sit back and appreciate what you liked? No anticipation for what's coming?
I don't get it.

What happened with Legos? They used to be simple. Oh come on, I know you know what I’m talking about. Legos were simple? Something happened out here while I was inside. Harry Potter Legos. Star Wars Legos. Complicated kids, tiny little blocks? I mean, I’m not saying it’s bad, I just want to know what happened. Star Wars Legos have been a thing since the 90s... and the super complicated lego sets have been around since the 70s.

It's definitely a model that seems to be going away again, with most (if not all) big releases now being dropped in traditional weekly episode format. Still, a lot of shows intentionally aren't designed to be watched individually and digested as such, and it's frustrating as hell. I would also argue that catering to the binge-watch crowd has lowered the media literacy of huge swathes of the population. So many people bitch and moan online because a show they're watching isn't immediately giving them all the answers to their questions because it is obviously building towards something later in the season.

PAW Patrol was playing in the background at work. I figured it was one of the zillion generic kitty cartoons getting churned out. I looked it up and the damn thing has 229 episodes! Not only that it had a movie that grossed over $140 million! I don’t understand this world anymore. $10...maybe. $20? eff off Mattel. $20 is cheap. One of the Ninja Turtles lines has the figures for around $40 each. The NECA ones? Those being high priced is understandable, those are high quality. Their Friday the 13th part VII Jason is un-freaking-real.

I think it would be against board rules for me to list mine... That’s my opinion. Such a disaster

And even when I do, I only have time for two or three episodes at a time unless it's a Sunday probably. Otherwise I'm usually fine with the weekly schedule that most shows go by.

If I binge it's mostly 4 half hour episodes for a day. That's about two hours worth

I truly find a lot of the acclaimed "comedies" and "hilarious moments" to be quite corny

I’m unsure if I understand this reference. Can this be another one for me? The joke was i was making an observation that twitter is full of people saying they don't understand the world and usually giving pretty controversial reasons as to why that get them ratio'ed. I wanted to see how many posts it would take before the title of the thread manifested in a post, and this was it. I had no idea what ratio'ed even meant. I did end up googling it just now, so don't judge me too harshly.

Yeah, I know that now thanks to the power of Google But I've never been interested in Twitter, so any lingo from that is lost on me. Honestly Twitter would be a good answer to the question. It's the first social media thing I just didn't even bother with. And it was the catalyst for "this is stupid" when it comes to apps/social media. The biggest one being Snapchat. The entire concept was just dumb to me. But then again I thought Facebook was a redundant version of the far superior Myspace, so what do I know?

If I'm being honest, I don't think I ever did.
I was raised by a borderline abusive, overly serious, mostly-stoic (aside from the outbursts of rage) single father.
And even now I have trouble seeing things outside of his toxic world perspective (though I badly wish that I could break away from it).
I see basically nobody else now is living under that paradigm, and I just get depressed and alienate myself further, because everyone assumes I'm just an asshole or evil (this isn't a modern development, it was like that even when I was in school; people assumed I was angry all the time), instead of sincerely trying to help me understand it.

"Dr. Pimple Popper" on TLC. I don't understand the appeal of the show, or who it's supposed to appeal to, or why anyone would watch it.
