My husband and I met Al and Heidi, at comic con in 2021. They had a pretty big line, and people asked if the other Home Improvement actors would be up for conventions.

The 70s and 80s had loads of shows with surprisingly long runs given their infamy and complete disappearance from the cultural landscape. I mean for god's sake, Small Wonder went four seasons. They got nearly 100 episodes out of that premise. See also the Canadian show "Hangin' In". en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hangin%27_In

Always had a crush on Maura Tierney, since Liar, Liar. She should have been in more shit. I just like looking at her and hearing her. #NewsRadio #RescueMe #LiarLiar and I dunno what else she was in.

Poor Dave Foley being in the middle of it. With his marriage and divorce he had every excuse to become a woman hating misogynist but to my knowledge never went there. Please tell me nothing bad has happened to Stephen Root. There's a rumour that someone stole his stapler... The shows that came to my mind were ER, L.A.Law, and Dynasty. If you weren't watching those shows, you were watching copies of those shows.

Lost was huge when it first aired. I have never seen it get reruns anywhere I would say Lost isn’t forgotten due it being an important evolution in how people consume TV. While the X-Files had an ongoing mythology, they’d still devote most episodes to the procedural monster episodes. When Lost came around it was far more serialized, and halfway in its run broke the American network mold of 22-24 episodes a season towards a more manageable number that’s become the norm in the streaming era. Whereas something like Heroes, yeah, that’s been forgotten, as it had less cultural cache and didn’t do much to drive the medium forward.

90% of big TV is like this though. One Foot in the Grave was massive once. Early Edition. Stargate SG1. Eureka. The Second Coming went from lauded for greatest TV this century to mostly forgotten even though it's been one of the most acclaimed scriptwriters this century (Russell T Davies). Second Coming, with Eccelston and RTD, was basically a trial run for Doctor Who that aired on ITV. It's understandable why it got largely eclipsed. Speaking of Who alumni...Steven Moffat's comedy dramas Press Gang, Joking Apart, and Coupling have largely vanished

Lost was huge when it first aired. I have never seen it get reruns anywhere The ending probably had a lot to do with it. I know someone who was fully intending to watch the full series when it ended, heard about the reception to the ending and noped out. You see something similar with the final season of Game of Thrones killing it dead. When something ends flat or badly, it can really put a damper on things.

Lost was huge when it first aired. I have never seen it get reruns anywhere SyFy was airing it for a bit, but I think this was while it was still in it's original run. I only know because I kept the TV on after ECW and NXT, I stopped watching SyFy after they ended lol

Well it rendered a large portion of the series pointless but especially that final season. I think it suffered from the bit with the kids having been written halfway through the show and filmed because they were growing up too quickly. The problem is, five seasons later that ending made zero sense and ignored huge swaths of what had happened. Such a shame.

Could you say Lost was one of the first TV shows that would end up with a streaming platform production format? Shorter seasons, extremely serialised?

I maybe committing heresy here, but I don’t think Boy Meets World has held up particularly well. The first couple seasons were good, the last couple seasons were good-but in between they’re it easy really repetitive. And I’ll go so far as to say they went o et jars on the young Cory’s introduction to sex.

Lost was huge when it first aired. I have never seen it get reruns anywhere I don't feel like Lost would be a good "Syndication Show". It's not like Friends or Seinfeld, or even hour shows like the Chicago shows (Fire, Med, PD), Law and Order, etc. Lost isn't a show you can just watch a random episode and be able to pick up on what's going on even if you never seen it or not seen it since it came out. Now, I agree that it really doesn't get mentioned a lot anymore for as popular is it was when it was on. Its not like Breaking Bad, Sopranos, The Wire, etc.

I got to the end of Season 2 and I just lost interest and I think it's because of knowing how it ends and not wanting to waste my time again. I still liked it but I didn't want to watch it all again just to get annoyed by the ending.
