Yeah, I don't think Khan is a bad guy as far as billionaires go. He let's his fandom and enthusiasm blind him but out of the other wrestling promoters in the history of the business, I'd rather work for him than 99% of the others. Even despite this Punk nonsense and his lack of care for women's wrestling.

I think that's why this is so frustrating. Khan has done a lot of good things but he's dropping the ball so badly with Punk. If he can't be the bad cop backstage that wrestling often needs to keep egos in check, he needs to get someone else to fill that role.

I dont think he needs a “wrestler heavy”, I think he needs an executive team or someone who will execute this kind of stuff when he doesn’t or can’t seem to be able to.

I think of Tony Khan as pretty similar to Yankees' principal owner Hal Steinbrenner in terms of personalities. Granted, Tony is a LOT more passionate about his product than Hal seems to be, but they both seem like generally nice people who don't really want to be ruthless even when it's warranted. They seem like great bosses to have when everything's going well because they don't quite have the megalomania of other famous people in their business (like Vince McMahon or Hal's father George). But it also means they don't seem to have as good leadership to correct the issues when things aren't working. Especially when it comes to personnel decisions.

They both come across as self-conscious about not being seen as the "bad guy." And unfortunately, there's enough actual bad guys out there who will take advantage of that from within.
