Supersized King of the Ring, huh? Did the WWF even have enough wrestlers for a 32 man tournament in 1995? They actually had a bigger roster then you would think. At the July IYH the entire roster was booked for the show due to the 30 Man Lumberjack match with Diesel against Sid. There ended up being 41 wrestlers on the show including Bret and Undertaker who worked post show dark matches to be home video exclusives. In my case I'm also still using some guys despite them being long gone IRL like Earthquake, the Steiners, and to a lesser extent Crush. I had to use some tag wrestlers but I also didn't include main event guys in the World Title picture in Sid, Diesel, and HBK.

News and NotesIf the Right Don't Get You the Left One Will: Has Bret Bit Off More Then He Can Chew?In an unheard of move Bret Hart will wrestle in two matches at the upcoming In Your House PPV. One against a new rival and the other against an all too familiar foe. Recently Hart won an award from the Japanese media. Hakushi and his manager Shinja would take exception and attack Hart during the award presentation with Hakushi giving him a moonsault off the stage. As a result of this attack a match between Hart and Hakushi was made for In Your House. Also Hart has rekindled his feud with Jerry "The King" Lawler who has been badmouthing the Hitman since he walked into the WWF doors over two years ago. Due to Lawler's interference Hart failed to qualify for the King of the Ring tournament as a King distraction while he was on commentary duties would cause a double count out between the Hitman and "Superstar" Scott Steiner. The King would go on to challenge Hart to a match at In Your House thinking there was no way he would accept knowing that Bret had already signed for a match against Hakushi at the event. However to The King's chagrin Hart would accept. Signing for two matches on the same night against two very credible opponents like Lawler and Hakushi is definitely a gutsy move on Hart's part. However throughout his career the Hitman has been an iron man which was evident at the first King of the Ring PPV when he won three matches in the same night. If Hart is successful in winning both his matches at In Your House he could possibly go down as the greatest wrestler of all time. Luger: Racks IC TitleOver the last six months or so there's probably been nobody in the WWF on more of a roll then Lex Luger. With his painful submission finisher the torture rack Luger has been on a unbelievable hot streak that recently led to him capturing the Intercontinental Championship. On the April 26th Raw "Double J" Jeff Jarrett was forced to put his IC Title on the line against Luger. Luger would overpower Jarrett in the early stages of the match but interference from Jarrett's Roadie would swing the tide in Double J's favor. Luger would mount a comeback but again Roadie's involvement would cause him to lose the upper hand. When it looked like Jarrett was possibly going to put away The American Original, Razor Ramon would stroll down to ringside. Ramon, who had been robbed of the IC Title on several occasions by Roadie, would drop Double J's sidekick with a hard right hand. When Jarrett diverted his attention to confront Ramon, Luger would come from behind and hoist him in the torture rack, forcing the loud mouth country music singer to say to capture the title. Ramon so fed up and frustrated by the Roadie's interference agreed to take on both him and Jarrett in a handicap match at In Your House. Similar to Bret Hart many questioned why Razor would get himself into a situation where the odds would be so much against him. However since The Roadie has been such nuisance as an outside the ring presence, perhaps Razor feels he will be to keep an eye on him better and keep in check if he's in the ring. Has Razor's pride led to a huge mistake? Or will Double J be continuing to sing the blues with another major loss? Jean Pierre Lafitte: Out to Send Opponents to Davey Jones LockerJean Pierre Lafitte has careened his way to the WWF. Formerly known as Pierre of The Quebecers, Lafitte, a descendent of the legendary pirate Jean Lafitte, has decided to go back to his roots. In the year 1818 Jean Lafitte would give his ships, cannons, men and gold to defend America and the free world from mortal enemies. However he would get nothing in return and was banished and forced to roam the seven seas. According to Jean Pierre Lafitte the patch he wears on his right eye isn't because he can't see but in actuality is a symbolism of the blind eye the Americans turned to his great great grandfather. In the ring the 280 pound swashbuckler is a tremendously gifted wrestler who also appears to be fearless, seemingly having no regard for his own body, not caring how about the high risk of some his maneuvers as long as it deals incredible damage to his opponents. Lafitte finishes his opponents off with a move he calls the cannonball in which he scales the top rope and then leaps off it with a somersault and crashes down on his opponents below with his near 300 pound frame. With Pierre's ruthless and ability there really could be no stopping the revenge of Jean Pierre Lafitte! DeparturesWell Dunn is no longer with the WWF.

7. Jerry "The King" Lawler pinned Bret "Hitman" Hart with a double leg roll up at 5:03 when Hakushi interfered and hit three diving headbutts as referee Earl Hebner was tied upside down in the ropes after becoming distracted by Shinja; prior to the bout, Lawler introduced his mother, who was in fact a 20-something model, and wished her a happy Mothers Day before she took a seat at ringside; moments later during a backstage interview, Bret proved that his “injury” was fake.
8. WWF World Champion Diesel defeated Sycho Sid (sub. for Shawn Michaels) w/ Jim Cornette via disqualification at 11:29 when Scott Steiner interfered and broke the champion’s cover after Diesel hit the jacknife powerbomb; after the bout, Steiner and Cornette assaulted Diesel and Sid attempted the powerbomb but Shawn Michaels came out and made the save, clearing the heels from the ring.

Hard to predict who's gonna win the tournament. I guess Luger goes deep, but gets screwed by Tatanka in the end. It's Luger/Yokozuna, Kama/Vega, Bulldog/Lafitte and Bigelow/Jarrett. Very interesting layout.

News and NotesCaribbean LegendAgainst all odds Razor Ramon defeated both Jeff Jarrett and The Roadie in two against one handicap match at In Your House. Unfortunately for Razor it was looking like while he won the battle that he was going to lose the war as Double J and Roadie would ruthlessly attack him after the bell with Jarrett applying the figure four leglock. However when things were starting to look bleak for The Bad Guy he would receive an unexpected hand from an old friend. At the time what appeared to be a fan would jump the guardrail and hop into the ring where he began cleaning house, first clotheslining The Roadie out of the ring and then bodyslamming Jarett before giving him a series of mounted punches before having to be pried off by officials. Police would then escort the fan out of the arena. Later on in an interview Ramon would introduce the man who came to his rescue as Savio Vega, a longtime friend of his and one of the biggest stars in the Caribbean. Vega would explain that he was just coming to see his friend wrestle but when he saw him being unfairly double teamed two against one that he had to do something. Born and raised in Puerto Rico, Vega would gain a reputation of being one of the best and toughest wrestlers in his country, winning countless championships. Prior to joining the WWF Razor would spend some time in Puerto Rico where he had many battles with Savio. During these battles a mutual respect would form as a well as a friendship. Savio has now followed Razor to the big time and it hasn't taken long for the newcomer to be thrown right into the fire. When Razor wasn't cleared to compete for the King of Ring tournament due to a rib injury, Savio would step up to the plate to fill in for his injured compadre. In the first round qualifier Vega would take on Irwin R. Schyster. Going in Vega was considered to be a heavy underdog against the much more renowned IRS, a former multiple time WWF Tag Team Champion. However Savio would soundly defeat the taxman in just a little over five minutes after a spinning heel kick. In the second round qualifier Vega would continue to run the gauntlet of Million Dollar Corporation members when he faced possibly an even stiffer test in the form of "The Black Hart" Owen Hart. However Vega would once again pull of the surprise victory by managing to outwrestle the master ring technician with a forward rollup pin. It's starting to become apparent that these wins Vega is attaining aren't really upsets and that he's actually a really good wrestler who just isn't well known due to having no previous exposure wrestling in the United States. Vega has now made it all the way to elite eight PPV portion of the King of the Ring tournament. Awaiting him in the quarterfinals will be yet another member of the Million Dollar Corporation in the form of "The Supreme Fighting Machine" Kama. Despite his impressive qualifying round victories, Vega will once again be an underdog when he takes on Kama, a 330 pound walking weapon who has yet to taste defeat in singles competition since joining the WWF late last year. Can Savio continue his Cinderella run? Or will the clock strike midnight? Apocalypse NowAt WrestleMania XI after being defeated by Bret Hart in a submission match Bob Backlund was seen yelling "I'VE SEEN THE LIGHT!" while walking back to the dressing room. Some wondered what Backlund meant by this while others just dismissed it at the usual babble from the mentally unstable Backlund. Since WrestleMania Backlund has become even more nuttier if that's possible. During events Backlund has been seen in the audience carrying signs saying things like "THE END IS NIGH" and "IT'S COMING". Now wanting to be known as Reverend Backlund he's been preaching about wanting to save everyone from the Apocalypse. Reverend Backlund has found his first disciple in Adam Bomb. According Backlund he's using Bomb as symbolism to show what will happen if people don't listen to him via the destruction Bomb causes in the ring. It also seems that the destructive pair is targeting The Undertaker. The Reverend says that he sheds light and that the dark and evil cloud Undertaker casts over the World Wrestling Federation will soon be sent into the heavens. While Backlund and Bomb are claiming to be the solution in actuality they seem like two big problems whose actions could soon lead to Armageddon in the WWF when they finally go against the man from the dark side. Team of the FutureLately there's been a big youth movement in the WWF. A new generation of younger, stronger, faster, and hungrier athletes striving to get to the top. There's perhaps no two individuals who exemplifies this new generation better then the tag of Tekno Team 2000, comprised of Erik Watts and Chad Fortune. Watts and Fortune are longtime friends who were collage football teammates at the University of Louisville where Watts was the quarterback and Fortune was the tight end. These young lions have now made a successful transition from the gridiron to the wrestling ring as they seem like the wrestlers of the future as they are both big men that are about 6'6" and 250 pounds apiece while also possessing tremendous speed and agility. They are also very innovative in the ring executing out of this world maneuvers that seem like they came from the future. Tekno Team 2000 is confident that these futuristic tactics will overcome the likes of The Heavenly Bodies, The Bruise Brothers, and Men on a Mission as they try to work their way up the ladder in the World Wrestling Federation. They say that the future is blind and that we live our lives one day at a time. However you would have to be blind to not be able to see that the future is incredibly bright for these two gifted young athletes who could be leading the WWF into the new millennium. Hunter Hearst Helmsley: Championship Pedigree?Another promising newcomer just arriving to the WWF is Hunter Hearst Helmsley. Claiming that he's going to bring class and civility to the WWF, Helmsley is an obnoxious upper class snob from Greenwich, Connecticut who turns his rather large nose up at any one, which is just about every one, that he deems of lower standing then himself. Born with the proverbial spoon in his mouth, Helmsley has lived a very privileged life. Everything in life has come easy to him. According to Helmsley he was born to be the best as while losers have to work hard to become a champion that for winners like him it just comes naturally. Despite his pompous attitude the Connecticut blue blood has demonstrated great skill in the ring so far as he's a very gifted ring technician who appears to be very well schooled. Helmsley likes to finish his opponents with a move he calls the pedigree in which it looks like he's setting up for a piledriver but instead underhooks their arms and drives them face first into the canvas. It remains to be seen if Helmsley really is destined to become a champion but it does appear that he has the skills and pedigree to make it happen. I'm still a little confused about the DiBiase/Backlund interactions, but going after The Undertaker was one of the two directions I was talking about before, so I'm happy about this. I never really had any plans for the Dibiase/Backlund interactions to lead to anything as it was more just an out for me with what I have planned for the Dibiase/Luger/Tatanka story. I didn't like using Backlund in that spot with my booking plans for him but I couldn't think of anyone else that would work better in that spot as I didn't want to use any of the heels in the Corporation since it wouldn't make sense for Dibiase to screw over one of his own guys but also had to be someone credible enough who could have Luger in jeopardy where he would need assistance to win.

I like Double J winning the tournament. With the history between everyone involved, it makes that post-match brawl make more sense than the rl one with Men on a Mission.

News and NotesMichaels: Out to Give Sid a Little Taste of Sweet Chin MusicSycho Sid is a man who can't be trusted and Shawn Michaels learned that lesson in a very painful way. While Sid would help Shawn win the World Championship thanks to Sid at the Royal Rumble he would also lose it because of him at WrestleMania XI against Diesel. During the match it looked like Shawn had Diesel pinned after his reverse crescent kick that he now calls sweet chin music. However the referee was out of position due to being tied up with Sid whose temper got the best of him as he was trying to get into the ring after being punched by Diesel when he tried to interfere. The delay would be crucial as Diesel was able to kick and then eventually defeat Michaels after the jackknife powerbomb. On Raw the next Michaels would relieve Sid of his duties which needless to say didn't go over too well with the psychotic one as he would jump Michaels from behind and nail him with three powerbombs until finally retreating when Diesel came to the Heartbreak Kid's aid. Michaels would suffer a back injury as a result of this attack and wouldn't be medically cleared to wrestle Diesel in a rematch at In Your House. Sid, who by this point at taken on Jim Cornette as his manager, would end up taking his place after goading Diesel into a title shot. Right when it looked like Diesel was going to get a decisive pinfall win after the jackknife, Scott Steiner would come to the aid of his fellow Camp Cornette member and beak up the pin to cause a disqualification. Steiner and Sid would double team Diesel until Michaels would return the favor and make the save, reconciling with his old friend in the process. At King of the Ring Michaels and Diesel would team up to take on Sid and Steiner. Although Michaels would pick up the win for his team by pinning Steiner he didn't get what he really wanted and that was to get even with Sid. At In Your House HBK will have his chance to get his revenge once and for all when he takes on Sid. It will definitely be a match of contrasting styles with the size and strength of Sid against the speed and finesse of Michaels. Despite giving away close to 100 pounds and over a half a foot in height to Sid, Michaels will to win and newfound crowd support with his ever growing legion of fans that he refers to as his Clique could sway the advantage in his favor. Will Sid get a dose of chin music? Or will the Heartbreak Kid experience another heart break? Has Luger Sold Out?Lately there's been a lot of accusations and finger pointing going on in the WWF. Mainly with Lex Luger, Tatanka, and Ted Dibiase. On the May 3rd Raw fans were shocked when Dibiase announced that Luger had finally come to his senses and signed with his Million Dollar Corporation while also adding that it was because of his advice that Luger won the Intercontinental Championship from Jeff Jarrett the week before. On Superstars later in the week it appeared that Dibiase wasn't lying as he would help Luger defeat Bob Backlund in a King of the Ring Qualifying Match. On Superstars the following week as Luger was conducting an interview with Dok Hendrix, Tatanka would interrupt and say that he couldn't believe that Lex could sell out and turn his back on all of his friends and fans. Luger would deny selling out but Tatanka would dismiss this as him playing dumb. On the May 28th Action Zone Tatanka would also win King of the Ring Qualifying Match by defeating Jimmy Del Ray to advance to the next round to face Luger. As Tatanka was conducting an interview after the match with Jim Ross he was interrupted by Dibiase who said that there was no way that even on his best day he would be able to defeat "his" Lex Luger. On the June 4th Action Zone Tatanka would team up with Doink to take on Dibiase's combination of Kama and Owen Hart. Doink would wrestle most of the match for his team but when he would go to make a tag, Tatanka would hop off the apron to go after Dibiase who was taunting him. Hart and Kama would capitalize as they would double team Doink and then pin him to win the match. After the match Hart and Kama would go after Tatanka with Luger then coming down to ringside to seemingly help him. Kama and Hart would applaud Luger and pat him on the back as Lex looked confused about what was going on. The Smoking Gunns would then run down to the ring and attack the Million Dollar Corporation, including Luger, to clear the ring. It seemed like nobody was buying Luger's denial that he had joined the Corporation and were in agreement with Tatanka that he had sold out. On the June 5th Raw Luger defeated Tatanka in their King of the Ring Second Round Qualifying Match although it wasn't without controversy as the referee missed Tatanka's foot on the rope during the cover. An irate Tatanka would accuse the referee of being paid off by Dibiase in an interview afterwards and that Luger could never beat him fairly. Luger would then confront Tatanka with the two coming to blows and having to be restrained. At the King of the Ring Dibiase would come down to ringside to seemingly help Luger in his quarterfinal match against Yokozuna. However Tatanka would thwart these plans as he pulled Dibiase off the apron when he tried to interfere. This would distract Luger who was then pinned by Yokozuna after a legdrop. On the June 19th Raw further evidence against Luger would surface as during the broadcast Lex's voice was heard coming from the Million Dollar Corporation's locker room talking to the Million Dollar Man who was standing outside before catching the camera man and angrily yelling at him to turn the camera off. Tatanka would later confront Dibiase with the Million Dollar Man saying he was tired of the Native American sticking his nose in his business and challenged him to a match against Crush the following week. Dibiase would then sweeten the pie by stating that if Tatanka was victorious he would even give him $10,000. Tatanka would accept the challenge for the following week. Tatanka would win the $10,000 challenge when Dibiase accidentally cost his own man the match when he tripped Crush thinking it was Tatanka as he jawing with fans at ringside. This would enable Tatanka to hit the end of the trail for the win. Afterwards Crush and Dibiase would argue with it then even getting physical as the big Hawaiian shoved the Million Dollar Man. However then IRS and Kama would run down the ring and attack Crush, beating him down badly to officially kick him out of the Corporation. Later on Dibiase would prove to be a man of his word as he approached Tatanka as he was being interviewed and gave him his $10,000 while sarcastically telling him to save his money. Tatanka would then state even on his worst day he could beat Dibiase's Lex Luger. Dibiase would state that Tatanka's ego was getting over inflated but if he wanted to face Luger he could at In Your House #2 and that he would even put the title on the line. On the July 1st Superstars Luger would state that he didn't need Dibiase making matches for him but that he had no problem putting the title on the line against Tatanka at In Your House. Will the Native American finally capture WWF gold for the first time? Or will the Million Dollar Man's big money acquisition continue to prove dividends by keeping his title? Bigelow: Evening the Score with the Million Dollar CorporationAfter being fired by Ted Dibiase last spring Bam Bam Bigelow vowed to even the score with The Million Dollar Man and all of his Corporation members and he's been able to do that with most of them as over the last few months Bigelow has decisively defeated Crush, Irwin R. Schyster, and Earthquake. On the July 3rd Raw Bigelow was looking to add another notch on his belt when he took on Owen Hart. However the Million Dollar Man would have other plans. Before the scheduled match between Bigelow and Hart, Henry Godwinn scored a victory over Barry Horowitz. However afterwards instead of heading back to the dressing room Godwinn would oddly stay down at ringside. Dibiase and Hart would then come down to the ring for the latter's match with the Million Dollar Man then giving Godwinn a nod. When Bigelow made his entrance Godwinn would provoke the Bammer by blocking his path to the ring and not letting him through. With no other choice Bigelow would deck Godwinn with a right hand with the two then getting into a skirmish that had to be broken up by officials. Despite his pre match altercation it didn't seem like Bigelow was the worse for wear as eventually it looked like he was going to put Hart away with his top rope headbutt. However as Dibiase distracted the referee, Godwinn would reappear and knock Bam Bam off the top rope with Hart then covering for the tainted victory. After the match Godwinn then would hit the slop drop on Bigelow as Dibiase laughed with glee. On the following week's Raw Bigelow would gain a measure of revenge on the Corporation. Razor Ramon and Savio Vega were scheduled to take on the team of Hart and Irwin R. Schyster. However the Million Dollar Man would pull a fast one by substituting Godwinn in for IRS who Dibiase claimed was "sick" with the flu. With their game plan thrown off due the last minute substitution, Razor and Savio were on the defense for most of the match. However when Hart scaled the top rope Bigelow would run down to the ring and shove Owen off the top rope and into the waiting arms of Razor who hit a chokeslam and scored the pin. Afterwards it would look like Godwinn wanted to fight Bigelow but was stopped by Dibiase who gathered his defeated troops with them then retreating. It's been obvious that Godwinn has been on Dibiase's payroll for quite some time. Godwinn has had matches with both The Undertaker and Diesel on television just a week prior to them taking on Corporation members at PPV events where in both instances it didn't seem like HOG was trying to win the matches as much as he was trying to injure them and soften them up. Then there was him picking a fight with Bigelow and then Dibiase subbing him in for a member of his Corporation. However Dibiase has yet to officially induct Godwinn into the Corporation as instead he seems content using him as an associate to do his dirty work. At In Your House #2 Bigelow will look to even the score with the big hog farmer when they go one on one. If Godwinn is able to take out Bigelow it very well could be his ticket into the Corporation. However he could very well just be yet another henchmen of the Million Dollar Man to go down in flames courtesy of the Beast from the East.
