I can't believe that in all of this no one (until now) has listed Carol Burnett or Lucille Ball listed as comedic actresses that are excellent. No offense but I always found them both incredibly overrated. Infact I don't find much of anything funny from before the mid '70s and even that is stretching it. None taken. Everyone has different taste in comedy and I doubt that there is one person that everyone on here would agree on liking.

I like Kathy Griffin but I HATE Monique. She is the least funny person on the face of the planet.

Try hating on Dane Cook in Boston, it's impossible to have a negative opinion of the man. P. S. Dane cook sucks.

Don't feel like reading the whole thread, but I will share some ladies I find funny:
Megan Mooney - she's got a Comedy Central Presents half-hour special that airs occasionally. It's quite good. She gave me the term "double donkey punch" which I use the way others use "jiminy jillickers!"
Samantha Bee - I dig her on the Daily Show
Maria Bamford - I've liked her for years now
I haven't liked Wanda Sykes in years (last I remember liking her was when she was Wanda Sykes-Hall).
Mary Birdsong - Of Reno 911
Katey Sagal - yeah, she doesn't write Futurama, but she's certainly not a hindrance to it
Also, whatserface, who played Mama on Mama's Family.

Wow, this thread title is pretty lame and offensive.
Elvira Kurt, Margaret Cho, and Judy Gold disagree.

Wow, this thread title is pretty lame and offensive. Elvira Kurt, Margaret Cho, and Judy Gold disagree. That's because they don't know what "funny" is. Just kidding man, I don't know who any of those people are except for maybe Cho. I just don't find chicks very funny.

If I were a stupid comedian, than I too could be a part of "Best Week Ever" or "I Love The 80s."

I would've loved to have been a part of "When Star Wars Ruled The World." I love Ming Na, but why was she there?

To be fair, the percentage of funny women vs. unfunny ones is probably about the same as the percentage for men.
There's just more men doing it, is all.

Two points before I go eat breakfast:
1. Amy Sedaris if funnier than any man working in comedy today, with the possible exception of Stephen Colbert.
2. This thread is stupid and sexist. There's been a lot of this anti-women crap lately. I always thought this was a smart message board, I'm starting to doubt it.

Victoria Wood and French & Saunders are a good example of women not being funny. Catherine Tate has here moments, but by and large, she ain't funny either.

okay, so i think the general consensus is most women in comedy arn't funny because men can't connect to them on their material, but then why do so many women laugh at mens material?
BECAUSE ITS A MANS WORLD DAMNIT!

If comediennes stopped just making jokes about being women I could take them seriously.

All women comedians make jokes about is being women. Same thing with most gay, black, and mexican comedians. White comedians barely ever talk about being white generally. Not trying to make a racist/sexist rant or anything, because I am neither, but it's just the truth.
