Bruce Campbell agrees.
Unless they're doing gross humor, like Lisa Lampanelli or Sarah Silverman

When did Campbell voice that opinion?
John Belushi apparently felt the same way, excluding Gilda Radner.

I don't like comedians in general. I just don't think they're funny.
I guess a few of them are. It doesn't seem to have anything to do with gender though. Kind of a stupid thing to say if you think of it. Kinda like saying black people aren't funny or something. Except dumber, because women are an even more general group.

I find Joe Brand funny. But she has as many haters as fans anyway.

The only woman I like in comedy is Judy Tenuta. She's hilarious and witty. Lisa Lampinelli is a one-joke hack ("I'm a fat slut who likes black guys"). If she dropped off this Earth tonight, I'd be a happy woman. Same with Sarah "Talking About My Vagina Will Make People Laugh....Right?" Silverman.

I do find that there are more women comedian's that I find unfunny than male comedians. I almost feel guilty for feeling that way, but I do.
I think it has something to do with being able to relate to the comedian to find them funny sometimes. For instance, there was a lesbian comedian on Comedy Central. Most of her jokes centered around life as a lesbian. I didn't think she was funny, PROBABLY because I can't relate to life as a lesbian.
There are some I do think are funny. Not Lisa Lampenelli though. Not because I find her offensive, but to me it just seems like she tries too hard to be abrasive. Just my opinion.
I always thought that Wanda Sykes was hilarious.

Sarah Silverman is awesome, Maria Bamford rules, Ellen Degeneres is pretty damn good. Those are the first three that pop into my head. I don't count Lampinelli, because I consider her the female equivalent to Carlos Mencia. They're both one joke wonders.(Mencia: I'm latino, isn't that hilarious? Lampinelli: I like black guys, isn't that hilarious?)

Whoopi Goldberg was pretty funny when she first started up. Ellen ditto. Pam Ann is a very funny woman, Sarah Silverman is pretty good. Couldn't stop laughing at Dawn French when she did her solo stand up tour. Jo Brand has her moments.
Yeah, women can be funny. I just tend to find that female comedians use a lot more observational humor than men who use more punchlines. Also, aside from the american ones I've seen a fair few live, which is a hell of a lot funnier than watching it on tv. Laughter is very contagious.
I think they can be funny.
