But, isn’t that ironic…don’t you think? Like rrraaaiiinnn on your wedding day! It's a free ride when you've already paid!

My concern is I’ve seen red-hot heels get over with the crowd only to lose their edge once they turn face. Randy Orton comes to mind, especially his first face run.

Knights been face for about two months and hasn’t changed at all. Still very early days but his “bit” was never heeling. In wrestling faces can be very arrogant

This is such a weird thread, lol. It's possible to just not like someone and also admit they're genuinely over. Yeah like (and it's not actually ironic) The Acclaimed themselves!

He's kind of a one dimensional character who's best parts a lot of people consider ripped off from other people, who is not really a good wrestler... (p.s. I'm not saying you're wrong if you disagree) I understand that some people actually like him and think he's exceptionally talented. I however am wondering if a large portion of that support see's the flaws and cheers because of them. And people have repeatedly told you why the vast majority are cheering him. You just keep being like "but he sucks... So it's ironic, right?" No ... if you read the thread my only responses have been the people who have been using the fact he gets cheered as an answer to the question. I even said that one person had an answer that made sense to me...

He got a shoutout on my local classic rock radio station. The morning host who never references wrestling, talked about LA Knight and played the "Yeah" multiple times.
He's freaking over.

Orton was a pretty smug prick during that entire face run, it's why fans turned on him and he slid naturally back into the heel role while retaining that smugness

It was also why the build to Seth/HHH sort of sucked. Seth got betrayed by HHH, threw a strop and the audience was supposed to be like "Aww, poor guy. Let's just ignore the year of you being the worst person on the roster and cheer for you".

And an even worse look for Seth during that rivalry, Triple H also screwed over Roman in the match, and Roman didn't throw the fit that Seth did. The piece of shit heel has to get his ass kicked before turning face. A guy like Batista and Brock could turn face without getting killed, because there was a bigger villain behind them, they were the instruments of destruction for Batista and Heyman. With Orton it was feel bad that he got his ass kicked by his asshole friends. Just ignore that he spent over a year never really getting his comeuppance, and being bailed out by those asshole friends who now hate him.

He's cheered because he's popular. It's really not this hard man. Your answer still doesn't answer the question. Something can be over because it's ironic like scissoring.. NONE of it is ironic. Ironic would be only pretending to like them when you really don't. The answer is that not everyone ONLY likes superior ringworkers. Sometimes, some people connect with things other than just "Wow, this guy puts on the best match every night!".

You’re not answering anyone else’s question; how do you know it’s ironic? Are you expecting us to go into a WWE crowd, survey every single one with the question “Is your reaction to LA Knight ironic or not? Yes or No” because that’s the most scientific way of doing it with some kind of prognosis or evidence behind it.
