YO, WHAT THE f*** WAS THIS?! I HAD TOTALLY FORGOTTEN! WHAT THE f*** WAS THIS?! We really got no resolution to this shit whatsoever. Full disclosure, I absolutely loved Mania 35 that year - but wow 2019 at its worst was really WWE at its worst. It's wild to remember that Brock squashing Kofi and the Hell in a Cell DQ was in *the same weekend* and then AEW premiered on TNT *less than a week later*. The whole “who tried to crush Roman Reigns with girders” thing kinda abruptly died off when Daniel Bryan turned back face for Smackdown on FOX’s premiere.

Out of all the times WWE dropped the ball in 2019, not pushing Fake Rowan was truly their biggest blunder. Who the hell was Fake Rowan? I thought he had to be his actual dad or something. Unless Rowan impersonators are more common than one might believe.

Can you believe there are some who want Vince back full-time? Like, I know Triple H’s main roster creative can be a bit dull and some talents are slipping through the cracks, but at least it’s mostly coherent and not openly mean.

I remember when people thought this would be a big break for Cedric Yes, the big break of... fooling the heels and still losing the f***ing match...

Reading this thread reminded me of 3 things:
Firstly Kairi Sane getting knocked loopy during the main event of TLC. Understandably she kept messing up moves after that and instead of looking after her and protecting her Charlotte just kept being rough with her. Even slapped her after a botched spear. It got so bad Becky had to literally hide her under the ring to keep her away from Charlotte.
Secondly Luke Harper turned back up around Mania weekend. Had an awesome match with Dijak at Axxess, saved Ali's career during the Andre battle royal and wrestled EC3 with Drake Maverick managing him in the dark match before Smackdown. He got sent home to sit out his contract. He then showed up later in the year to team with Rowan against Bryan and Roman and he and Rowan went on an absolute tear looking like they were going to be a dominant team. Then they broke up again when Rowan went to Raw and Harper was finally released.
And thirdly there were the issues in Saudi Arabia that lead to wrestlers getting stuck over there after management had already left the country.

Seeing Cain reminded me this is when Dom debuted. I wanted to find a terrible early segment but this is actually strangely hilarious.

I remember when people thought this would be a big break for Cedric Yes, the big break of... fooling the heels and still losing the f***ing match... WWE went through a weird period where popular guys would get randomly squashed and then to drill the point home, they’d attack the guy after the match was over to get heat. Nowadays they’d have more chance.

Like, Triple H has his flaws like any other booker. But at least most of the angles under his watch are entertaining, consistent, and coherent.

This also happened: OK, I need somebody to explain this to me because I have NO recollection of this This was a segment where Sami Zayn sat in an actual electric chair AKA was on the hot seat and they had fans ask him questions. Sami then criticized their questions and asked why they didn't ask him about other things like AEW. This was the first and last edition of the segment.

I miss those new sets they debuted later in the year. Raw had that skateboard ramp and Smackdown had the echoing logo thing but then the lockdown happened so they were both abandoned after 3 months, and when they went back to live touring there was just a giant wall of TVs that looks like shit.
