Home Alone
The only negative stuff I've ever heard said about Home Alone are things like "Kevin is a psychopath" or "how did they afford that massive house" or "Harry should have died 3 times over"... which really have no bearing on the quality of the movie.
It's just about the perfect holiday movie. Has something for everybody. And it has John Candy. What more do you want?

The Mummy: action packed without being overwhelming, suspenseful enough to draw you in without being so scary as to turn anybody off, and peak Brendan Fraser. No one changes the channel when The Mummy pops on.

Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory I never really enjoyed either version of this. Wonka is an unlikable psycho in the Depp version and a vaguely likeable psycho in the original. However, not likeable enough to save the movie for me. Some people just want to watch the world burn.

I don't know anyone who dislikes Shaun of the Dead. In this situation I'd pick Hot Fuzz.... for the greater good.

I’d probably pick a Disney or Pixar movie. Maybe Finding Nemo, Lion King or Jungle Book. Finding a movie that appeals to all generations and likes is tough going.

I've read through and have not yet seen The Princess Bride mentioned. Are there people who don't like The Princess Bride?

I've read through and have not yet seen The Princess Bride mentioned. Are there people who don't like The Princess Bride? Sicilians and 6 fingered men. The only negative I've heard has been from younger generations about the music. Synth music from the 80/90's can be an acquired taste. And can be hard to acquire a taste if you didn't live when something was more popular.

I don't know anyone who dislikes Shaun of the Dead. I wouldn't say I disliked it but I wasn't really a fan.

Shaun just something about it doesn't work ffor me. But then I am one of the few that never really liked Forrest Gump. Saw the movie and was like ok not bad but nothing I will watch again. Months later read the book and yea... Book>Movie. Trying to think of a film I love that I know few or none that hate it. And only one I can thiink of that I haven't seen mentioned yet is First Blood.

I've read through and have not yet seen The Princess Bride mentioned. Are there people who don't like The Princess Bride? I have actually never seen all of it. Seen pieces know all the lines that have been over-quoted for decades. Sadly I got a feeling it will end up like Monty Python and the holy grail. By the time I saw it I had had the film referenced and quoted to me so much I just didn't care for the film.

Nobody who doesn't take themselves seriously loves Billy Madison and I'll die on that hill.
Shit, I feel comfortable saying that formost Adam Sandler movies. That's kind of their point. Put a bunch of people in a room play one of his movies and they'll enjoy it even if it's formulaic.
