Meltzer said that the doctor’s told Kenny that if he hadn’t been diagnosed when he was, then he would have had a 50% chance of death.

Makes me wonder the shit wrestlers walk around with and don't even realize at the time because of their pain tolerance. Brock's case was pretty dire too if I recall right. Best wishes to Kenny.

Brock also had it for like a year before it was discovered and I think he ended up having a hole in his stomach as well.

My grandfather actually passed away due to this so I'm glad he caught his early enough that isn't any more serious than it is.

Going to be wild if after every insane spot he did, after every unbelievable match, the thing that put his career down is diverticulitis.

Brock and Kenny are the two most insane and athletic gifted wrestlers imo ( Brock with his insane strength and speed ,Kenny his with insane stamina and endurance). And both got taken down a peg by the same disease

Keep in mind that Kenny was super banged up during his big Belt Collector title run where he had vertigo, as well.

Both seem like entirely the kind of person who'd walk around with stomach pain for months before someone yelled at them to go get it checked out.

News is sugesting the recovery hasnt gone as well as it could have and he will need colorectal surgery.
That may involved a temporary colostomy, though it also may not, depends how damaged his insides are and how much large intestine they need to remove.

Kenny's streaming on Twitch now, said he hopes he can come back for some fun wrestling that challenges him to be better but also isn't sure if he will even be able to come back :/

It'd really suck if this was a career ender.

Really unfortunate to hear. I wish him the best, and hope to see him wrestle again someday. 🤞😔🤞

I don't know man, so many people have had "career ending injuries" and made it back. Hell, AEW is full of them. Not counting Kenny out at all. I mean if Shibata can have his brain taken out, the sky's the limit..... /s

Going by his tone too he wasn't sounding like completely despaired about it, I tuned in and out watching but I heard him talking more about goals than him being done in ring. Hell he even talked about trying out jiu jitsu and boxing so he isn't counting himself out either on continuing athletic endeavors.

By the way he sounds he's not sure if he's gonna be back by All In, or maybe even this year, but at this point, AEW has so much talent, he probably can afford to take his time and not rush this.

It's sounding more and more similar to Lesnar's situation. Obviously Omega and Lesnar wrestle different styles at different paces, but Lesnar was able to come back.
The important thing though is that Omega is happy and healthy. I hope he takes all the time he needs to recover and if he never comes back, he's still one of the greatest to ever do it.

Yeah not all cases are the same I’m sure, but Lesnar had surgery in November 2009 and returned to the UFC in July 2010.
