I think the big angle this year is MJF returning to go after Cole. It's Khan not having a Plan B as usual but that's likely the Plan A.

I’d rather they organically build to something like they have with the rise of Swerve than do any emergency booking. Especially since they aren’t in an emergency situation. Regardless of what critics say. Right. AEW isn’t anywhere near a DEFCON 3 level, they’re usually putting on exciting versatile cards, while also swimming upstream against a surging established competitor. I’ve lived through the TNA dork ages and watched Heroes Of Wrestling. In hindsight, some promotions would kill to have TK’s kinds of problems.

Tony really has to start making some tough decisions now. We need to be seeing 900k+. It's time to finally strap that rocket on Matt Taven. Just imagine all the dorky shirts we'd get out of it! Wednesday Night Taven AE-Taven Wednesday Night Tavenite Taven-EW (that one writes itself) Undisputed Taven Taven Kingdom TNTaven CollTaven RamTaven So much money being left on the table here.

It's a very weird number. Good shows does not guarantee ratings at all but it's very interesting to see this as most folks I've seen have said that AEW has been a lot more focused in 2024 and feel the product has taken a step forward coming out of 2023.

Mercedes needs to wrestle already. That's her forte. Yeah. Her strength isn't on the mic and damn sure isn't on commentary, it's wrestling. She's gotta wrestle.

She's wrestling at Dynasty Idk why this is a big shock, they've done this with every big name signing, they wrestle their first big match on the PPV, Mone is not gonna wrestle on TV first just to pop a rating.

They were the most over act last year by a large margin and fans will go ballistic for face MJF returning. That angle will definitely have heat.

Just enjoy the show and don't let the Nielson box numbers or online trolling effect what you like or want to care about, tbh I swear I’m starting to feel like I’m in a relationship where people aren’t giving my partner a chance lmfao I watch both WWE and AEW, and I can be honest going into Dynamite I knew nothing was gonna top RAW That’s not what AEW is. I’ve been clear for it feels like two years now, AEW should do what they do best (even if it doesn’t interest me) in order to succeed. There’s a very strong loyal fanbase, but I think you’re even seeing that be chipped away. I don’t have the answer, but I can speak from a layman wrestling fans perspective, I know going into AEW shows, there might be some good wrestling and that’s it. With RAW or sd, it’s “what new angle progressions are going to happen or advancements in story”. Thats not what AEW is. It’s more sports based. That’s what they’re good at. They should distinguish themselves from the competition but just add some hooks into storylines and characters. They’re great wrestlers, but I need a hook lol Not trying to be a dick, but if you switched Tony’s booking with that of someone experienced, it’d be night and day. A booking/creative committee. Theres a reason why Vince’s wrestling vision succeeded. In terms of trying to be bigger than life, storyline and character driven. People have disputed that not being the be all. What we’re seeing is the closest to NJPW/ROH/The indies(??) on a large scale and it certainly has an American following, but can it grow? I’ve said it before, all it’ll take is one hot angle. Theres been fumes (Swerve after the Texas match), but there’s no sustained sizzle to angles or feuds. The shows have been good, for AEW, if you enjoy them, I see why. I’m certainly feeling in the outside looking in, and so there’s a natural intrigue in seeing how the company is doing because nothing in the content is really interesting me. But no fan, no wrestler should want AEW to die. Or fail. Ignore those voices. But I think criticism should be welcomed more from the strongest of AEW fans as well. Because again, we all want the company to succeed. We’re all wrestling fans.

I don’t want Vince’s vision, and to be honest, we don’t even know who is booking right now. Besides the final decision part.
For my money, unless there is a very Bischoff/Russo style shift in booking style/structure, they could have Tony not be the main booker, and not only would nobody notice, the complaints would likely stay the same.
There are wrestling fans who feel like the least important part is the wrestling. This isn’t just a wrestling thing: there are video game fans who like fighting games, but find the competitive gameplay the least exciting part. It happens.
For those fans, AEW will not be what they are looking for. Much like me and WWE. And that’s okay.

Because again, we all want the company to succeed. We’re all wrestling fans. This is very well said, well articulated, might be one of the most civil and clarity filled posts that's ever been made in one of these cursed threads, so I thank you for it tbh People who want the company to die are ghouls, just straight up. It's given wrestlers more jobs, more opportunity, more MONEY then has been seen in 20 years since WCW died. It's working, it's succeeding in the metrics it's needed to, and it's helped wrestling fans at a large scale know who wrestlers are who would have NEVER been given the platform they've been given, that AEW has readily, and happily given them. It's refreshed wrestlers on both sides, you don't get the Cody storyline in WWE without the initial AEW one, for better or worse imo, and Copeland's on one of the better runs of his career since he went there among guys like Mox who have completely re-invented themselves. People should want parity, and should want these guys and girls, whether you watch one, neither, or both, to have more avenues to show their craft... that's how wrestling grows, and that's how you get more fans IN GENERAL When more companies grow, and more people eat, we feast, that's what we should want. It's like wanting every fast food chain to shut down because you love one the most, just out of cheer spite, and it baffles me there's legit shitty tribalism out there to this degree. WWF and WCW fans would have eaten one another alive if Twitter and Reddit existed back then lmfao.

Yah it’s bizarre that they’ve spent almost the first month with her doing the thing that she’s LEAST effective at. And we still have almost another month until Dynasty. They cannot drag this out for that long.

Didn't Okada (officially) debut on Dynamite and then work his first match the following week before winning a title on Dynamite the week after? I mean, I wouldn't consider Okada to be as big a name signing as Mone given her higher degree of fame in the United States market, but I think most would have considered Okada a "big name signing" and he was wrestling immediately.
