She's wrestling at Dynasty Idk why this is a big shock, they've done this with every big name signing, they wrestle their first big match on the PPV, Mone is not gonna wrestle on TV first just to pop a rating. Didn't Okada (officially) debut on Dynamite and then work his first match the following week before winning a title on Dynamite the week after? I mean, I wouldn't consider Okada to be as big a name signing as Mone given her higher degree of fame in the United States market, but I think most would have considered Okada a "big name signing" and he was wrestling immediately. His first appearance was to set up the Forbidden Door match, I think most consider that PPV event his first match within the company and it was a big, some would say very important PPV Event with the New Japan crossover I assume with that connotation, they didn't see the need to ease Okada in, he already competed at that show. But most other talents that sign don't normally wrestle until a big show happens.

Okada has wrestled before, on PPV. Mone is a talent that's had buzz around her since she was in the crowd at last years All In. You don't just do her first match on free tv.

I get people want her to wrestle, Dynasty's in a few weeks so she will, but telling what is basically now their biggest women's talent to not talk as much also feels kind of... shitty? I get Mone's not rock solid on the mic, but they're actively giving the women more segments and time off the fact she exists. She's been all over the shows, and featured at the beginning and end of show cards... you do her match on TV, it gets like 900K views? Then congrats, she didn't break a million, because lose-lose situation goalposts You do not do shit to pop a one week rating, that is literally something WCW taught everyone... you can obviously do crazy stuff, but AEW does do that, they give away a lot of insane matches on free TV, which is also why doing Mone's first contest on free TV makes even less sense to me. You have a PPV to sell, she's drawing tickets, she's doing what she needs to do right now and until Dynasty gets here.

I honestly don’t have any words that don’t make me sound crazy, cuz I swear there’s some kinda campaign to put AEW in the dirt. These shows are solid as hell, with new pieces being out on the board. I just don’t get it at this point. Just enjoy the show and don't let the Nielson box numbers or online trolling effect what you like or want to care about, tbh You’ve made ten posts in this thread in ten hours since telling someone else to stop caring about these ratings.

Thanks for counting them for me so I knew, very helpful of you Discussing the booking and overall presentation of the show isn't me "caring about the ratings" either, most of these posts are literally just discussing the talents and AEW as a whole, that's really what these threads devolve into anyway, not that that's gonna stop you from singling me out for snark like you always do, unprovoked.

But most other talents that sign don't normally wrestle until a big show happens. Eh I'm not so sure about that. Its situation dependent, Danielson, Cole, FTR etc all made their in-ring debuts on tv. Hell Bryan faced Omega! Injuries since have proven that to be a good descion. I guess the increased ppv schedule makes something like that much less likely these days. Punk's long absence and ability to talk people into paying made a ppv debut make perfect sense. There was intrigue of if he could still go and more importantly what he can do unleashed in a new environment without wwe's limitations. Mercedes seems to be following his template without the same mic ability and a shorter absence. There seems to be no real change to her schtick. So having the equivalent to Bryan vs Omega would have been preferable. Although really even if the strategy works and her inane commentary drives ppv buys that's good for aew but doesn't make it any more entertaining creatively as a fan. But oh well, bumpy start but she'll settle in soon and I'm sure will be good.

And yet that's more normal than the people who barely if ever post at all but will chain-like any negative post.

The ratings are laid out like a whole cow upon a table, exposed and stripped bare to its most core elements, freshly slaughtered, but not so freshly that the stench of death is not heavy over it. It is expired and gone, and it is vital to move before the rot sets in. To break apart the joints and cleave through bone, to partcel out what value is left in what was once alive. To cut through sinew and to push on against any resistance, to parcel out meaning from the dead and the empty. AEW is little more than meat on the bone, but both meat and bone, no matter how worthless in life, have value now. So break it down to pies pieces, lay price upon what is left and send it off to be devoured and to be reduced to what faint nutrients it may provide, cycled through existence and shit out the other end. Some say that AEW could use an undertaker, but in truth, AEW needs only The Butcher.

I think the “hot angle” argument is weird because, well, regardless of what they do, nobody’s going to talk about anything but The Rock right now so it’d be counter productive to try and counter that until Rock’s gone. You’re better off laying the building blocks down and get talking when more people can be focused on you.
You know how Raw used to have shows that had different people in matches and not many big matches because Monday Night Football was going to kick its ass anyway? Same thing.

Adam Cole’s first 7 matches were on TV.

AEW continues its slow circling of the drain that began after the one true demo god left the company.
Obviously the only way to fix this death spiral that AEW is totally in you guys is to pay the Bunny whatever it takes to bring her back.

Gotta keep the course, I said it. Product is cold, gonna take a few months to turn it around, etc.
TK has got to fight his own worst tendencies if he wants to pull the nose up though. Like, enough of the "I respect you but I gotta prove I'm better!!" stuff. Dawg, no, hahaha. Even UFC understood a long time ago that what sells fights is HATE. When Hangman was talking about his match with Punk and basically said "f*** all them stars, I'mma f*** dude up because I don't like him for real." THAT is more of what this company needs.

Subsequently, I think the only other way to turn things around is to make Willow Nightingale the highest paid woman in wrestling. I don't make the rules.

The fact WWE hasn’t snatched her up for the Bloodline angle is mind boggling but I guess Roman politicked against it after being outshown that one time.

Oh hey, look, the thing Warner Bros Discovery talks about all the time as a big factor in why they love AEW!

Oh hey, look, the thing Warner Bros Discovery talks about all the time as a big factor in why they love AEW! Bah, facts schmacts. Number bad, AEW has gotta abandon what they’re doing and instead focus their product around a wrestler who was in his prime 25 years ago. Goldberg just burned his WWE bridges, give him a call and have him beat down Swerve in a parking lot.
