Ok. People have been saying names of albums (some of which I have never heard of) and I'm pretty knowledgable about some music stuff but can someone answer me this... Exactly what is a concept album? I mentioned Sgt. Peppers and someone disagreed. I have no problems with that opinion, but the whole concept (no pun intended) of that album was to make an album which would be performed by a fictitious band. Doesn't that fit into the concept category? It's a concept album and it also considered as one of the first concept albums.

And yeah its probably the best track on the album. 8 minutes long but doesn't bore me for a second. Such A Twat and Get Out Of My House are my two other favs on that album.

Oh, I'm not sure how I could've forgotten these two... Nine Inch Nails - The Downward Spiral and Year ZeroThe Downward Spiral was a concept album? I honestly never knew that. Apart from some that have been mentioned my vote goes to Avantasia's Metal Opera Parts 1&2.

No-one involved considers it one, they've just pulled a fast one by implying that it is. The characters they used lasted for a total of three songs, then they got tired of the idea. One of the earliest, if not THE earliest concept album, is that album by the Beach Boys, I think it's from 1964, where every song is about cars.

a couple awesome Metal concept albums
Opeth: Still Life Pig Destroyer: Prowler in the Yard (the intro is the creepiest thing I've ever heard) King Diamond: Abigail Amorphis: Tales from the Thousand Lakes Vehemence: God was Created (VERY underrated)

That would be Little Deuce Coupe although not every song is about cars (Be true to Your School.)

I will always vote for this album as one of the best concept albums made: But I'd also like to include The Folksmen's "Saying Something"

I'm not really a fan of concept albums, but I did like Dream Theater's "Scenes From A Memory"

The gall, the audacity, the guts of this album alone makes it worthy of inclusion. And the thing is, it's amazing! There are so many great tracks on it, it's hard to cut it down to say, 23. It's a great idea for a record, and it worked out into a great record.
