It's the written equivalent of shock TV. If all they did was speak the truth is "We really have no idea what they are going to do with CM Punk." it would be boring and generate less traffic. For example: How long has HHH supposed to have been winning the Title and/or at WM? Yet when they report "Rumor is HHH to bury (insert anyone here) and the IWC freaks out. So the more these sites freak you out, the more you visit them for more crappy info. And you love it. It's a pretty simple business strategy. I have to be honest, some smarks can be pretty sheep-like. All fans are sheep, it's just the "smarks" are too stubborn to accept it. |

I find it unfair that RVD, one of the most over guys, got busted for smoking weed, lost the title and got suspended but never got his title back while John Morrison, a mid-carder who was bought to ECW in a Supplementary Draft but won the ECW Championship for wrong reasons, got busted for drugs as well and suspended him but they might put the belt back on him. I think Morrison retained the title too many times and now I feel is the time he chases after the belt.

Too bad it's one of the top rated shows on Sci-Fi. ECW gets ratings in the 1.0s. What's that say about Sci-Fi? That's besides the point. ECW draws more than what Velocity did. It would be a stupid move for them to drop ECW and go back to Velocity. |

Raw is too much of a money maker for the USA network and Smackdown! is too much of a money maker for CW. |

I am not surprised. WWE has clearly planned for Punk to eventually win the title. However, they were slowly building into it, getting the crowd behind him to make it all the more momentous an occasion when he won. But, circumstances have forced them to do otherwise. Had Morrison not gotten suspended, he would have held on to the title long term, I think. But, he was suspended, and Punk was the only viable title holder they have right now. They are simply trying to prevent a repeat of Sgt. Slaughter as champ. They put the title on the guy who they have been hyping up and who the crowd is behind. If they had suddenly put it on, say, Tommy Dreamer, it would have made little sense.
I can dig Punk as champ, sure. But if he loses it back and they resume what they originally planned, thats still cool.

I find it unfair that RVD, one of the most over guys, got busted for smoking weed, lost the title and got suspended but never got his title back while John Morrison, a mid-carder who was bought to ECW in a Supplementary Draft but won the ECW Championship for wrong reasons, got busted for drugs as well and suspended him but they might put the belt back on him. I think Morrison retained the title too many times and now I feel is the time he chases after the belt. I think it would be because he got busted by the police while being the WWE's champion and representative. RVD messed up and I know a lot will disagree with me on that and that's fine, but no one forced him to have those substances in his car. |

Uh, also guys? What exactly does Morrison bring to the table? Looks and an impressive physique. And... I'm probably being too optimistic, but it is doubtful he is going to have that physique for much longer, and his usefulness will completely go out the window. Without it, he'd just be a skinny, flippy acrobat guy (and I'm not so optimistic that I think they'd change their conception of what a wrestling star looks like).
Besides, even if Punk does lose the title, I doubt they'd keep him in ECW. They know he's over, and they're not stupid. They've got to move him to a bigger stage sooner or later.

I think it's more than that, it's not like Punk is getting Conway Pops and they're just giving him the title to please the internet fans, he gets a very good reaction and is the ECW brand's top face at this time and has been chasing the champion for a few months now so it makes sense that he got the title, he would've gotten in a few weeks time at the Unforgiven PPV anyways, Nitro's suspension just sped up the process I think. |

And what is Morrison, exactly? A jakked up game show contestant. Punk is good and if he gets pops then he should continue to be pushed. Whatever plans they've had for morrison aren't finshed though. I do think its funny that they try and force pops onto the crowd unstead of following the natural ones though. Hell it doesn't matter at this point, right now they are just probably trying to mold the business as they think it should be..and who wouldn't when they are on top? All you smarks know that you'd book Danielson vs. Punk vs. Kendrick every night for 60 minutes regardless of how much money it made. |
