The furthest back I can remember is the champ being Bret Hart. If I recall he lost it to Bob Backlund who lost it the next night in a 8 second match to Diesel (aka Kevin Nash).
I'd have to look it up though.

I started watching late 2001-early 2002, so I was introduced during the Jericho regime.

I don't remember, but I've been watching since late 1988 when I was 2. I think I had my first memories from around 1989 or 1990, so the champ was probably Hogan, tag champs were probably hart foundation or demolition or heenan family (andre and haku) and ic champ was probably rick rude or ultimate warrior or honky tonk man.

Chicago was an AWA town; if my memory doesn't fail me Verne Gagne was the heavyweight champ and the Vachon Brothers (Mad Dog and Butcher) held the tag straps.

Demolition were the tag champs. Ultimate Warrior was the IC champ, but lost it to Rick Rude that night. Macho Man was the Heavyweight champ, but lost to Hogan that night.
WrestleMania 5, baby.

World Champ: Savage
IC Champ: Honky

earliest memories are hogan being champ, tito winning and losing the IC belt to valentine (did the hammer try to destroy the belt after losing a cage match?) not sure who the tag champs were, i think volkoff and shiek.
when i really started watching all the time, hogan, warrior, and either the harts or demoliton.

Yeah, it was Demolition as they beat Strike Force the same night Savage won the World Title and they held those belts for the rest of 88.

The summer of 1997, about a month or so before Summerslam. I mainly just remember Taker being WWF champ and Owen Hart being IC champ, don't really remember the others. The storylines after Summerslam 1997 were so awesome (from what I remember anyway) and I was hooked from that point on.
