WWE needs to bring back Dink so that Hornswoggle has a buddy... and restart the "Mini" division while they're at it.

If WWE is aiming at kids again, then how soon before they have CM Punk telling a drug dealer "Im not a chicken, YOU'RE A TURKEY!"? (The next week, cena can rap about "marijuana, the wacky weed")

Even through I been a wrestling fan for eighteen years. I have to say I'm loving this since it remind a lot of happy and funny stuff from back in the day when I first started watching wrestling in the first place. Even through? Even through what? The years? The days? The hours? The wall?

I'm not a fan at all of Hornswaghgle, but, he's on screen for, what, dive minutes a week? If that offends people that much, you need to seek professional help! What the hell are "dive minutes"? Do I need to go ask Master Chief wtf you are talking about?

I love the character. Funny as hell. I love him with finlay and everything he does I laugh out loud. Its awesome. I wish he had more time on tv to be honest. Are you under the age of 13....I must know... qft I mean, I like the guy as a person since I have met him and he is from my home town in Wisconsin, but he does waste time on tv that could be better spent pushing others.

Why do people on this board get so mad that some wrestling fans are kids or women? Whenever there's a thread about some disliked wrester, people dismiss him by saying "sure, he gets pops, but only from squealing girls" or "only twelve year-olds like him," like it somehow doesn't count as popularity if it's not adult men. Never understood that.
Anyway, the Hornswaggle stuff is fine. It's silly, and it could be paced better, but it's fine.

I'm unhappy that WWE feels it has to cater to them by pushing stupid crap on the rest of us. That said, Hornswoggle's push has a silver lining--whoever beats him and trashes him will automatically become a super-hated heel by the crowd. It'll be sort of like how Lex Luger instantly became an over face by slamming Yokuzuna, except in reverse.

I just think the skits are lame and boring.
And I like MachismoMark's idea of having a heel squash Hornswaggle- it would satisfy smarks and give the heel good heat.

I understand WWE's motivation in the change. It is also probably part of the reason that Hornswoggle is no longer referred to as Little Bastard anymore. However, I disagree with the way WWE is going about it. I think its not unfair to say that WWE got itself so far embedded in its Attitude Era cliche's that to attempt a total reversal right now is kind of hard to swallow. One can argue that if they want to improve their image so much, they also need to eliminate the diva's who prance around in revealing clothes and pose for Playboy. They should not push guys like Batista, Lashley, John Morrison, and others who are such target marks for steroid accusations. They should drop all references to Steve Austin and DX, both of which were the focus of the Attitude Era's grungy antics. I am not blaming WWE for its effort to take a more family friendly road, and to try to shore up support as the fallout from the Benoit tragedy continues to smolder. However, pushing a midget may not be the best avenue.

Why are you guys actually complaining about a 5odd minute segment on Raw yet spending much more time debating about him?
If they have you talking about them, then they keep getting a reaction from him one way or the other.

If they have you talking about them, then they keep getting a reaction from him one way or the other. "Getting a reaction" isn't necessarily a good thing if he ends up driving away the audience that already exists in search of a "family-friendly" demographic.

Kids hate being condescended to with stupid antics like this. That's the reason they constantly seek out "adult" things. "Kid friendly" programming is more about what adults think kids are like, rather than how they actually are.

And since a good portion of wrestling fans (including smarks) are kids/teens, this isn't good for the long haul.

"Kid friendly" programming is more about what adults think kids are like, rather than how they actually are. QFT, that's why I said I didn't feel bad about kids watching WWE, I felt bad about the pandering. What WWE is doing now is like cutting an R-rated movie down to PG to try to bring in families. In the end, it alienated the audience that would have watched the R-rated version and still scares off the "Think of the Children" crowd.

Unfortunately they normally don't squash the faces until they are in their hometowns, and I don't know when WWE's next tour of Oz is scheduled...

I'm not mad that some fans are little kids or women. I'm unhappy that WWE feels it has to cater to them by pushing stupid crap on the rest of us. Yeah, but you could easily make the same argument going the other way. Why should the women fans have costume ball diva matches pushed onto them just so the WWE can cater to straight men? You can't satisfy everyone all the time. A more diverse fanbase is GOOD. I can't be alone here in saying that if wrestling hadn't captured my attention as a kid in the 80's, I would certainly not be a fan today. No one would have given a whit about the attitude era if not for nostalgia.
