For the upmteenth zillionth time,
The reason Hornswaggle is getting pushed is because he is supposed to appeal to little kids.
The WWE is trying to shake off a reputation in the mass media as a company that forces its employees to take drugs that cause those employees to either die prematurely or turn into crazy murderers.
The company needs to win back as much support as possible and improve its image, so it is trying to appeal to families and kids, and the Looney Tunes-style antics of Hornswaggle fits the bill.
If you don't like the character, turn off your TV when he's on. If enough people turn off their TVs while the guy is onscreen, the company will take the ratings issue as a hint.
Sorry, I know it seems obnoxious to start a new post for this, but the same question keeps coming up so many times that it's frankly kind of ridiculous. I'll understand if the mods prefer to lock this, but I almost think this thread, or something similar, should be stickied.

And to piss off the marks and it's working.

I thought that segment would have been much better if they had killed the gag once Hornswoggle made his great escape and then played into it later in the night. Does anyone even know what comedic timing is anymore?

Even through I been a wrestling fan for eighteen years. I have to say I'm loving this since it remind a lot of happy and funny stuff from back in the day when I first started watching wrestling in the first place.

I think they could be doing a lot worse things than what they are doing with Hornswoggle. The point is, he is over. Wrestling won't ditch something so over just because the IWC says it isn't dark enough.

Wait, so is Hornswaggle the new Eugene? I had no idea so many smarks hated him...

Don't care. Can't stand 'em. Especially now that he's actually pinning wrestlers.

To be honest, I'm not that bothered by Hornswaggle segments. And like theseven7 said, they could be doing a lot worse...

Please don't try using the old cop out "It's for the kids". Even when I was a kid I would have thought this hornswoggle crap is retarded. While a lot of WWE's current fans may be kids they're not babies and believe it or not most kids have a pretty keen idea on what's stupid and watching grown men walk into walls is stupid. John Cena appeals to kids and he isn't pretending to be Looney Toons same with Batista and even DX albeit most of their material is Vince loves roosters.
It's not impossible to create characters who are family friendly as well as realistic just look at Ariel from SHIMMER she's happy go lucky and very well behaved. And at the same time she isn't hotfooting Lacey or dropping anvils on Awesome Kong.

I was fine with it when he came out from under the ring and only got a few minutes. Now he's getting entirely to much TV time and actually pinning wrestlers. It's not like they can go anywhere with it, he's not a funny wrestler that can be pushed, he's a midget.
And oh yea, if he's for kids...then on last weeks Raw in the match before his segment....It featured 1 woman rubbing another's face in her tits and then another kissing one before hitting a move...you can't be kid friendly and then have that, make up your damn mind.

It's funny, it doesn't take up much time... I mean, c'mon... the segments are really short.

I don't mind the character. Just can't stand the Looney Tunes crap that's starting to make some WCW stuff look like Citizen Kane.

Midgets have always been a part of wrestling. That said, making him McMahon's son was an incredibly stupid idea. I wouldn't mind him in any other storyline but that one.

So show me where midgets were integral parts of the last big boom of wrestling we saw....
And no the midget Hardys or Dudleys or Booker don't count they made 1 appearance and were then gone....now we are getting this shit every week and he's the focal character not used to make fun of another person to set an angle.

Not the Attitude Era, but if you go back in time, you'll see plenty of midget wrestlers. And nobody dislikes a "kid-friendly"WWE more than me, because it means more endless Cena title reigns.

I'm not a fan at all of Hornswaghgle, but, he's on screen for, what, dive minutes a week? If that offends people that much, you need to seek professional help!
