The new HBK dvd ends in the oddest way possible. The second the documentary is over, they fade to black of course, then fade to "WWE Would like to thank Pro Wrestling Illustrated" and they focus on that for a solid 10 seconds before finally shutting off. WWE is acknowledging and even THANKING the dirt sheets now in such obvious and grand fashion? I think maybe because of how PWI lists have ALWAYS put Shawn over? It's a trip! Did they show magazine covers with Shawn on them that said Pro Wrestling Illustrated on it? If they did, then that is what they are thanking them for. Because I doubt they could show those photos without the premission of the company that owns them.

I thought this came out tommorow? Street dates are broken all the time. Yeah, especially at Walmart. Hell, I got the Eddie DVD at the closest 24 hr Walmart nearly a month before it came out.

It's great. The only negative is now I've got to buy another copy, as I had initially planned on buying at as part of someone's Christmas, watching it, then giving it to her. That's still the plan, but now I'll have to pick up a copy of it for myself as well.

I just spent almost $30 on a concert ticket with a face value of $20 (first time I was really annoyed with Ticketmaster service charges) so I didn't feel like dropping some more cash on this DVD just now....although it is only about $20 right now, maybe I'll go get it tomorrow.

I just watched the documentary and felt it was very in depth, DVD is pretty liberal about talking about Shawn being a horse's ass in his 90's era.
Seeing Shawn kick open a door at the WM14 post press conference was pretty poor-sportish I felt.
Seeing many people on the DVD tear Bret Hart down (and believe me I'm not a big fan of his) was equally poor and incidentally the only real time Gerald Brisco comes into play on the disc. Dibiase is the only one who can really say anything even remotely in Brets defense and the DVD makes no mention of Vince telling Bret to leave WWE and go to WCW since he may not have been able to pay him. It's a trend that's been starting since the McMahon DVD regarding Bret.
The rest of the doc was pretty good, I haven't gotten to the matches yet, but I did like hearing the brown pants story. I never noticed the pants before and I thought it was going to be about his brown pants modeled after his alternate costume from the Here Comes the Pain game (presumably he had a similar costume at the time)
HBK rules.

So from what I can gather, is the DVD documentary just his book in video form?

I never read his book so the Documentery was a eye opener. He was very honest or as honest as he wants us to think he is. I could have lived without the Religous stuff but whatever. 2 things I got from watching it:
1. God what the hell happened to Marty Janetty? It was sad watching him slur his words and looks like he aged 10 years in 2.
2. Shawn and his wife must be tanaholics. God she looked like she turned orange. Totally different than the last time I saw her.

No, it was ghost written. It wasn't that badly written, it's just like.....you know Shawn ain't telling the whole truth. There's little nuggets of the truth, but it's not THE TRUTH.

I mean, if it's true he said he had no problem losing the belt to Austin in the book, a story people have refuted for years, saying he was struggling to keep the belt and not to business, he flat out confirmed he didn't want to lose on the DVD. Also, I doubt he admitted to being pretty much fired the night WCW was bought in the book.

Just watched the whole thing. A great DVD but 2 things stuck out for me:
1. Man they just buried Bret for no apparant reason
2. I wish they could have elaborated more on his 2002-2003 run.

Regarding No.1, it is common opinion on the IWC that Bret is the one who can't let it go. He's labelled the bitchy, little whiner. Obviously this proves otherwise - neither side can let it go.

Hogan also got some heat for refusing to job. I bet if Vince and Hogan were still working together, that wouldn't have happened. Gotta love WWE's policy of burying people that don't work for them.

No kidding. I like him and Bret equally and I wish both men would just grow the smurf up and bury the hatchet already.

that was awesome. my only complaint is during the montreal segment, there was no bret intertwind from his DVD that just had him say something like "That was complete Bullshit, or something". idk i just thought that would had been funny, if during their explanation, he just would had been like "f*** these guys"
anyhow. GREAT DVD. it was awesome seeing them talk about early rockers shit. almost sold me on the DVD. all the klique stuff was great. and i had a feeling how this dvd was gonna go anyway, so it wasn't too shocking to me.
DEFINATE BUY, but i still say the AWA dvd is the best they put out, bar non.

They seriously need to get over Montreal. It's discussed almost all the DVD's. Vince's, Bret's, Monday Night Wars, Shawn's. Just get over it, already. I found the part after the Screwjob pretty interesting. I never knew Shawn was drugged out of his mind the day of the final Nitro. And that him and HHH had a verbal fight in-front of the locker-room.
