Talk about an original. There are fewer and fewer JWA veterans all the time. I don't even dare look up how many are around now, I highly doubt it's many.

I'm sure if he gave Konnan a job he'd suddenly be the best booker ever and Konnan's best friend. Konnan would spit on a person one moment and then hug them the next if they gave him money I feel like the only person I can remember offhand him never coming for is Rey, and I'm sure I maybe just never heard about it.

The entire House of Torture squad appeared in NOAH today at Korakuen Hall and attacked both Kaito/Oiwa. This is building to that tag match on NOAH’s upcoming 1/2 show, but we could see some retaliation in a New Japan ring at some point over the next two days. Also, ZSJ did a notable interview with Tokyo Sports that implied he’s not going anywhere in 2024, and his goal has remained getting to the top of New Japan as both world champion and Dome main eventer. That all sounds great, and I’ll take it at face value, but his mannerisms and manner of speaking when it comes to teaming with his mentor Ogawa has me still questioning his future. I mean, if he does stay, they pretty much have to give him that spot, right? With Ospreay gone, Naito and Tanahashi showing their miles, and Okada's future uncertain, his relative stock has got to be going way up, on top of him putting in the hard work he's been doing. And House of Torture probably is the group to use for that kind of thing, sure. Bunch of dicks and it doesn't impact NJPW if/when NOAH guys run them off.

Bull Nakano and Kensekai Sazaki? Were these two together? Harvey, clearly we have more in common than I realised! I read you all wrong! Kensuke Sasaki's with Akira Hokuto, not Bull Nakano, but Japanese-wise, it'd have been them for sure.

People in here are also forgetting that Al Snow was insanely over in ECW and consensus opinion is that busted down Shane Douglas should have just dropped the belt to him when they had the chance. Yeah, like Al Snow was actually rather credible with the ECW crowd, who saw him as a really good worker who hadn't been given a fair shake, which was accurate.

I mean, why we won’t know about certain things is because it’s a private company with no people to report that stuff to because they don’t have shareholders. I know people ask about it but on the flip side, like, nobody’s made a good case for how that’s really our concern outside of TV product wise, you know. I think it’s people’s interest, not necessarily their concern. Which makes sense, it's just one of those things where it becomes an issue if they get too invested and concerned with it despite their limited understanding.

I feel like Garcia or Ibushi would both make sense, but if it's goddamn Enzo, that's at least mildly amusing, even if I really, really do not like him.

I threw a vote to Sammy on account of he has a kid and seems real happy about it.
Other two picks were Bryan and Jarrett.

Nah it's just kind of a crappy behavior. Why people decide 'I need to own a bunch of strangers by implying they don't have any real opinions they just like or hate wrestlers and base what they say based on that' is something they gotta put out there is beyond me. Is wrestling that important to you guys? No. Like, I don't agree with the premise, either, but it's very unlikely that's the point they are trying to make. It's that when wrestling fans have soured on someone, they view what they say or do through a less charitable lens. That's not even really open for debate, that's human behavior for people to be harsher on someone they already dislike, and frankly, yeah, that's what happened here to an extent.

I assume it was meant to be sexy, but Daffney being forced to strip, which basically just meant her looking really uncomfortable and showing her bra strap for a second until Lacey Von Erich jumped her for no reason and then stripping, herself, continued the proud tradition of TNA being absolutely terrible at trying to do anything sexual.

On TNA’s second ever show they had a Miss TNA Lingerie Battle Royal. Only it was a very misleading name. The women wrestled in what looked like ill fitting men’s pajamas: They look like they should be using stethoscopes on patients. It was also shot like absolute shit, cutting away from many of the eliminations to focus on inane bullshit like a woman hitting a guy with a belt for what felt like 12 minutes. So, not only did the women have to get stripped, most of it was poorly shot, anyway, so it basically failed on every metric. Demeaning AND unsexy and inept.

I love the sheer joy in Schiavone's voice when he gets to call an awesome spot. As long as he's been calling wrestling, it'd be really easy to jadedly go through the motions, but during good matches you can really tell he's happy to be there. Maybe it's having a long break away from the grind of the business, but he has such a positive outlook on the business especially compared to his peers. No "back in my day" just "Holy shit this is amazing". He has such energy and enthusiasm it's like he's 20 years younger than he is. Yeah, plus he could so easily rest on his laurels, but he doesn't. He's been open about how, especially early on, he's not a moves name guy like Excalibur, but he has been trying to learn the names, the history, etc, and catch up on how things have changed since he'd been gone. I think it also just really comes across how much happier he is not working for someplace that was trying to "work the boys" constantly and giving him like zero idea of what the hell was happening, like in WCW towards the end.

It'd be really big, and also just not something I see happening in the next few years if it happens at all.

I don't think it was impossible, but it'd be HIGHLY improbable during that ratings war. It'd be tying one hand behind their back to not try "and NEW world heavyweight champion-" as a tactic to draw attention.

NJPW will live. Losing Okada and having Tanahashi and to an extent Naito getting close to aging out of the main event spot are obviously blows, but they've lost big names before, like Nakamura for instance, and life kept on. It doesn't mean that it won't be a struggle if he leaves, of course, but it also could be a period of experimentation and renewal. Power vacuums leave people eager to attempt to fill them.

why are we referring to Disco Inferno with a definite article? I could swear he was called Disco Inferno and The Disco Inferno practically interchangeably, so I assume that's why. In any case, I assume Dwayne wouldn't embarrass himself on Twitter and grovel for attention from more popular friends like Glenn.

Kevin Owens is honestly good enough to where he could probably coach me into doing it correctly, but also I really can't imagine he'd be that eager to take a bump. *looks at gif Lizuka posted* *insert “You sure about that?” guy clip* From a neophyte, I mean, presumably not on the air. Him taking it from his best friend and a pro of many years, on a big PPV/PLE, I'm sure is more palatable.

The real true hell freezing over is that Nyla Rose teamed with Serpentico today at a Pro Pandemonium show. I choose to believe they united in their hatred for Jon Cruz.
