I'm shocked neither Vince ever had a First Blood match between two women and had someone dump one of the competitor's purses out to reveal they had pads or tampons, and for the ref to call for the bell.

I think it's just the circumstance of there being so many other forever reigns in WWE right now as opposed to Seth being a bad face or champion where the crowds really want to see someone beat him. It's both, I think, but yes, if we didn't have Gunther and especially Roman having super long reigns right now, it would be much less frustrating. In addition, Seth just isn't exactly doing anything that really makes me say, "he needs this belt right now."

I'd appreciate it if we could please try to refrain from judging people's looks unprompted. It's not that kind of thread. That and it's like, she's 60, not everyone's going to be like Susan Sarandon or something.

Yeah, her and Melissa Joan Hart are noted wrestling fans, along with Macauley Culkin.

I loved Boy Meets World, but the show's continuity errors are insane. Topanga's parents were played by a few different people and there was even a sister that never got mentioned again after season 1. Didn't she have a name like Nebula?

It depends on a lot of things, like subject matter or how pleasant I find the youtuber's voice. It also really matters how good they are at making proper use of their time.
I've rewatched a lot of Jenny Nicholson videos, even long ones, because she hits a sweet spot here. I like her voice, I find her eclectic subject matter choices fun, and I think her videos tend to be low on a lot of the worst sins of video essayists trying to milk runtime. You don't get the usual, "There's so much to unpack" waffling, slurping from a mug while they waste your time.

I went with: Bobby Heenan. The greatest of all time in my opinion and obviously a lot of other people feel the same way. Everything you can say a manager is supposed to do, Bobby was great at it. Jimmy Hart. The quintessential ‘80s manager. As much as he’s known for his WWF run, he probably had more to work with in Memphis. Jim Cornette. He’s tied so closely to one act, the Midnight Express, that it can be forgotten he even managed anyone else. The rapid-fire promos, and almost never stumbling on his words. Knew how to bring the heat and was never afraid of it. Gary Hart. The most underrated manager of all time in my opinion. His run in ‘89 with Funk and Muta is tremendous, but he had decades before that, going across Texas, Georgia, Florida, and Australia. It’s often forgotten that he was a key part of launching Dusty Rhodes as “The American Dream” in Florida. Gary Hart is such a blind spot in my knowledge on wrestling, and that's a shame given he had a really big influence. That's because he came early, but it also meant that even some others in the business did not fully appreciate him, like I remember Cornette saying he disliked how Gary Hart didn't really sell fear of the faces or bump for them, etc, and that he initially wrote him off due to that, not getting that Gary was from another time and that his credibility was a major asset to him in a way that later managers didn't really operate on since that was just a whole other approach to managing.

Zandokan in a backstage promo asked Naito to let him be the newest member of LIJ. "Big, weird Mexican pirate" feels like a good enough fit for LIJ's band of misfits.

I'm not sure. I'm not as down on MJF face run as others but I am getting to the point where he should drop title soon. But I think their better options then Joe, as great as he is. Swerve for example I am not down on MJF, and think he has done an excellent job after a slow-ish start, but I do feel like he's had a run that has accomplished around as much as it is going to, minus whoever he loses it to. I guess that's another factor: I am more fine with Joe winning it if he's not going to be champion a super long time. If Swerve is the Devil, you can have the two feud after MJF loses the title since the Devil has obviously been part of wearing him down, and Joe has a feud or two and racks up some defenses, only to lose it to Swerve after like 3 months, especially if you want Swerve to get a long reign.

If Swerve is the Devil, I'd have Swerve beat MJF.
If he is not, have Swerve beat Joe. It would make Joe's TV title relinquishing less stupid if it actually did help him win the belt.

A firm "maybe" from me. There are some matches I could see being very good, but I don't think it's something I will lament not getting, exactly, given he is probably going to retire sooner than later.

Crazy that Savage NEVER returned. Don't know the details, but I think Savage tried to broker a deal in 1998, only for him to resign with WCW. He was also open to the idea of joining in 2001, as he spoke highly of a return in a shoot interview. However, any time Savage's name came up, Vince shot it down. Even the 2008 DVD was something Vince only agreed to just to get people to shut up regarding asking him, and didn't want Savage himself involved in it. After Savage died, I always felt putting him in the HOF was a moot point. They had years and years to mend that fence, only for it to never happen. I wanted Randy Savage to be behind that podium getting the recognition he deserved. It's the reason why I don't even care if a long time legend is recently inducted after they die. With Vader, they knew...and they still didn't. With guys like Luger, Sid and Demolition...they aren't exactly spring chickens and it does the fans no good to induct someone when they aren't there to accept it, especially when there have been many many opportunities and they still haven't. With Vader, I suspect they were thinking that if they inducted Vader due to his asking them to due to his health that it might encourage other wrestlers to exaggerate/lie to get inducted, but that's still not a good reason to have putzed around like they did.

That one has been so front-loaded, especially with Skye Blue now having her beef with Julia Hart that is more pressing and better booked, so Skye just keeps on fighting Ruby sometimes and just... why?

Frankly speaking, not that it defends them, but Bradshaw and Faarooq going after guys was basically an indication Vince or someone else in authority already had an issue with you, more often than not. So maybe "bullies" is less accurate than "shitty henchmen".
If I am just talking about onscreen, though, they were welcome depth for the tag scene during arguably its height. This isn't to say I'd put them over the Hardyz, etc, in importance, but that was kind of the beauty of the tag scene at the time, where there were top teams, ones in the middle, and enhancement teams like Kaientai tended to be. The Acolytes were probably on the high end of the middle tier, where it was not an upset if they pinned the Dudleyz or E&C, but they also were more likely to lose than win those big matches against them.

The opening of Defenders of the Earth is honestly pretty epic, but I've never watched it.
"LORD OF THE JUNGLE, THE HERO WHO STALKS THE BEAST CALL HIM 'BROTHER' THE GHOST WHO WALKS!
PHANTOM!"

Wasn't Ric Flair going through his WCW issue with Bischoff? I know the dirt sheets were teasing in the fall-winter of 1998-99 that he was coming aboard and to feud with Steve Austin as the corporate champion. Yeah, during 1998, he was flirting with the idea of trying to jump to WWF. Same reason he's not in WCW/nWo Revenge, the issues they had. I am unsure if that's part of why David Flair was a big thing in 1999, as one of several peace offerings, but it wouldn't surprise me.
