Some vitals about the company, first off …
I am, as of Wednesday, March 11, 2008, a National company with 25% PI and growing (slowly, but steadily). The market is in a decline, at 45% and falling. I am the #3 promotion in the world, behind the WWE (#1 at 67% Global and falling) and TNA (#2 at 46% Global and falling). I do not have a developmental territory. I have two television shows, Driven (Wednesdays, prime time) and Unleashed (Saturdays, prime time), both on Bravo, and I have a demo tape out for a third. I run PPV’s on a monthly basis; my PPV calendar is:
January: Caged Rage February: Do Or Die March: Arena Warfare April: Supercard Of Honor May: Gut Check June: Survival Of The Fittest July: Death Before Dishonor August: Respect Is Earned September: Glory By Honor October: Hell Freezes Over November: Vendetta December: Final Battle
My roster:
Main Event: Face: Nigel McGuinness, BJ Whitmer, Colt Cabana, Austin Aries, Matt Sydal, Jack Evans Heel: Chris Hero, Justice Pain, Steve Corino, Alex Shelley, Chris Sabin, Bryan Danielson, The Messiah
Upper-Mid: Face: Mark Briscoe, Jay Briscoe, Matt Cross Heel: Kaos, Jimmy Jacobs, Adam Pearce
Mid: Face: Eddie Kingston, Sabian, Roderick Strong, Mike Quackenbush, Claudio Castagnoli, Delirious, Hallowicked, Josh Prohibition Heel: Jimmy Rave, Sonny Siaki, Onyx, Joey Ryan, Dan Maff, Brent Albright
Lower-Mid: Face: Ruckus, Puma, Tyler Black, Arik Cannon, Jigsaw Heel: Kevin Steen, Sal Rinauro, Rainman, El Generico
Managers: Lacey (clients: Jacobs, Albright) (heel) Larry Sweeney (clients: Joey Ryan, Jimmy Rave) (heel)
Other: Tammy Lynn Sytch (ROH Commissioner, face) Rebecca Bayless (interviewer, face)
Tag teams: Arik Cannon & Tyler Black Jack Evans & Matt Sydal Incoherance (Delirious & Hallowicked) Motor City Machine Guns (Chris Sabin & Alex Shelley) Murderdeathkill (Justice Pain & Hallowicked) Studio 54 (“Diamond” Joey Ryan & “Hot Tub” Jimmy Rave) Team Ego (Kevin Steen & El Generico) The Blackout (Onyx & Rainman) The BLKOUT (Ruckus & Sabian) The Briscoes (Jay & Mark Briscoe) The Burning River Brigade (Matt Cross & Josh Prohibition)
Stables: Exception To The Rule: Chris Hero (leader), Adam Pearce, Dan Maff, Sonny Siaki, Kaos, Steve Corino
Injured: Kaos (arm injury, 1 month) Onyx (ripped bicep, 6 months) Jigsaw (eye injury, 1 month)
Suspended: BJ Whitmer (bad attitude, 1 month)
In Rehab: Matt Cross (indefinitely)
Championship histories:
ROH World Title: Takeshi Morishima, Jul. 1, 2007-Jul. 22, 2007 Chris Hero, July 22, 2007- (current)
ROH Pure Title: Eddie Kingston, Jan. 19, 2008-Jan. 27, 2008 Brent Albright, Jan. 27, 2008-Feb. 13, 2008 Jimmy Jacobs, February 13, 2008- (current)
ROH Tag Team Titles: Takagi & Doi, Jul. 1, 2007-Jul. 22, 2007 The Briscoes, Jul. 22, 2007-Nov. 10, 2007 Murderdeathkill, Nov. 10, 2007-Jan. 19, 2008 Jack Evans & Matt Sydal, Jan. 19, 2008-Jan. 23, 2008 Motor City Machine Guns, Jan. 23, 2008-Jan. 26, 2008 The Briscoes, Jan. 26, 2008-Jan. 27, 2008 (2) Murderdeathkill, Jan. 27, 2008-Feb. 24, 2008 (2) The Briscoes, Feb. 24, 2008-Mar. 1, 2008 (3) Murderdeathkill, Mar. 1, 2008- (current) (3)
Current feuds, with backstory:
Austin Aries vs. Jimmy Jacobs [Backstory] Jimmy Jacobs’ mind has been fracturing for a long time now, and finally getting a girlfriend in Lacey has done nothing for him. A routine pinfall loss to Aries on an episode of Unleashed made Jacobs snap, and he has pursued Aries like a man possessed. Aries came after Jacobs on the most recent episode of Unleashed, and allowed Lacey to take the bullet for him.
The Briscoes vs. Motor City Machine Guns [Backstory] The Briscoes are the darlings of critics, internet writers and fans the world over. After months of hemming and hawing, the Motor City Machine Guns finally signed long-term committed contracts to ROH … and proceeded to screw the Briscoes out of the ROH Tag Titles. They have made it their mission to not only defeat the brothers from Delaware, but to cripple and retire them.
Steve Corino vs. Nigel McGuinness [Backstory] Both men gave up their Japanese commitments and signed full-time ROH contracts, with one stated goal in mind: the ROH World Championship. The winner of their final match at Arena Warfare will determine the new number one contender.
Eddie Kingston vs. Brent Albright [Backstory] The Pure Championship tournament had many interesting, first-time matches. In the quarterfinals, Kingston and Albright met, and Kingston not only was victorious, but became the first Pure Champion. This incensed Albright, who made it his mission to make Kingston pay.
Joey Ryan vs. Mike Quackenbush [Backstory] Fed up with not getting his due respect, Ryan signed with super-agent Larry Sweeney, and set out to make a name for himself at someone’s—anyone’s—expense. The first person he ran across was Quackenbush.
The BLK OUT vs. Team Ego [Backstory] A simple story of two teams with the same goals, and trying to reach them in different ways. With so many elite teams in ROH, BLK OUT and Team Ego have had trouble gaining ground. BLK OUT just wants to get some wins under their belt; Ego wants to put some people in the hospital. The collision of the two teams and two ideals has spawned a rivalry.
Claudio Castagnoli vs. Adam Pearce [Backstory] Adam Pearce is the Exception To The Rule’s resident bully and enforcer. In a match between Pearce and Switzerland’s Most Money Making Man, Pearce exerted a little too much of his obnoxiousness, and now, Claudio is looking for payback.
Dan Maff vs. Roderick Strong [Backstory] Back in ROH after a long absence, Maff wanted to make an impact quick. He joined up with Chris Hero’s stable, screwed Colt Cabana and BJ Whitmer out of the ROH Title. But when he ran across Roderick Strong in the Pure Championship tournament, he found someone who was just as vicious and had nothing on his plate.
My next PPV, Arena Warfare, on March 30th, will have the following card:
ROH World Title, special-one-night-only appearence: Chris Hero (c) vs. Masato Tanaka
Winner is #1 contender (stipulation to be determined): Nigel McGuinness vs. Steve Corino
ROH Pure Championship (stipulation to be determined): Jimmy Jacobs w/Lacey (c) vs. Austin Aries
Grudge match: The Briscoes vs. Motor City Machine Guns
ROH Tag Title match: Murderdeathkill (c) vs. The BLK OUT
"Diamond" Joey Ryan w/Larry Sweeney vs. Mike Quackenbush
Bryan Danielson vs. Colt Cabana
Four-team elimination match: Team Ego vs. Incoherance vs. Jack Evans & Matt Sydal vs. Arik Cannon & Tyler Black

They had the biggest audience I could aspire to get at the time with my then-production values and risk rating.
I've now outgrown them, so I'm slowly gonna start shifting my programming to other networks. Fox, hopefully.
Jed Shaffer ~And I plan on taking on TNA if I get a new show, so I can bring them to their knees and free the prisoners!

Im going to completely rip your posts off and post my own here in a minute. I didn't invent it. Feel free. It'll be fun, actually, comparing notes, seeing how someone else plays their game. May open our eyes to different tricks and styles we could use. Jed Shaffer ~You'll probably post more then me, though, since I don't get to play as often as I'd like.

ROH Tag Team Championships The Briscoe Brothers (1) - September 16, 2007 - July 13, 2008 Team Ego (1) - July 13, 2008 - February 11, 2009 The Briscoe Brothers (2) - February 11, 2009 - CURRENT
Current Feuds with Backstory:
Chris Hero vs. Joey Ryan [Backstory] 9 Months ago, Chris Hero was the reigning World Champion, and basically ruled ROH with his stable (Pearce, Whitmer, Rave, Sweeney), However, he suffered a torn calf, and was forced to vacate the title. Enter Joey Ryan. Ryan was the TV Champion, and was a very successful with The Dynasty (Ryan, Chris Bosh, and Scott Lost). Ryan was chosen by then ROH commissioner Eric Bischoff to wrestle Colt Cabana for the vacated Title. Ryan ended up winning the belt. Now with the strap, he sought better companionship, basically pushing Bosh and Lost to the side, and recruiting Hero's former stable of Pearce, Whitmer, Rave, and Sweeney. He would abandon Bosh and Lost and Dub his new stable "The New Dynasty". he kicked out Larry Sweeney, and starting cutting harsh promos against Hero. Fastforward 8 months later, Hero has just come back, and hes pissed off. He claims that Ryan stole his belt, and stole his men. At Death Before Dishonor, in the biggest main event in my ROH games history, Hero beat Ryan to win back his strap. Now, going into a survivor series format on the next ppv, Hero wants revenge on the guys that abandoned him. Joey Ryan has jut kicked BJ Whitmer out of The new Dynasty, and put him on the shelf, and are actively searching for a 4th member. Chris Hero has brought Bosh and Lost to his side for them to get revenge on Ryan, who abandoned them, and The rest of the stable, who were apparently better than them. Hero has yet to choose his 4th man. So there is a mystery partner for each team going into the match.
Christopher Daniels vs Austin Aries [Backstory] Christopher Daniels and his stable The Prophecy (Abyss, Jim Mitchell, Kevin Thorn, Havok) have been wreaking havoc in ROH, and have been ruining big time matches left and right, Daniels cannot lose his TV title because of his stable always interfering. Theyre pretty much ruining ROH atm, and alot of the main ROH stars are gathering to try and stop them. Austin Aries is the posterboy for ROH. He carried them in their monthly PPV days and main evented their very first PPV. He sees himself as someone who has to protect the company from people like Daniels, and is taking a stand against the leader of The Prophecy himself.
The Briscoes vs. Steen/Generico [Backstory] These two teams have been off and on feuding for more than two years now. They are the two best teams in the world at the moment, easily. They are the only two teams that have held the ROH Tag belts since mid 2007, The Briscoes having held the twice, and Team Ego once. For over a year, it was about proving who was the better team, they went so far as to request the first Ladder Match in ROH history, which the Briscoes won. Lately however its become different. The Briscoes had always kept it strictly in the ring, but in the past months, have attacked Steen and Generico in the back, sending Generico to the hospital. They ruined Kevin Steens one and only shot at the ROH world title on ROH Live, and for weeks, continued to poke fun at the team, while not answering Steen and Genericos challenges at the same time. Finally, Steen and Generico won a shot at The Briscoes in a fatal 4 way match. Jay and Mark however, came up mysteriously, and suddenly gravely ill the day of the PPV, and sent MCMG to replace them, a match which Steen and Generico lost. They are currently working their way back up the ladder to The Briscoes, who are still avoiding them, and the Title shot they earned.
AJ Styles vs. Mike Quackenbush [Backstory] AJ Styles re-debuted in ROH in January of 09. He came from the far and away top promotion in the world in TNA, and his first words when he came back, was that he came to legitimize ROH, to take away the aura that the company has of being full of indy scrubs that could never make it to the big time. Mike Quackenbush proceeded to challenge him, styles rejecting because, as he says, Quack is a prime example of what he had just talked about, some indy guy no one knows thinking he can hang with the big boys because hes won a few matches in a company no one has ever heard of. Then commissioner Eric Bischoff set up their first meeting, and AJ's first match for the following PPV. AJ promptly lost to Quackenbush in his return match to ROH. Of course, AJ called it a fluke, but when asked if he wanted to avenge the loss, backed away from the challenge. Fast forward two months. Quack has a shot at the TV title on ROH Live, but right before the match, he is taken out in the back by AJ. Styles would win their second meeting by cheating, and would verbally taunt Quack for the next month, telling him that he was a fool to think that he could hang with the likes of The Phenomenal one. In their third, and thought to be final match, Quack did just that, he hung with AJ for an hour in a time limit draw. Now, six months after AJ came back to ROH, there is a fourth meeting between the two set up for higher stakes. It will be the second Ladder Match in ROH's history. Hanging above the ring will be a contract which lets the winner have a World Championship Match on ROH Live
My next PPV, Testing The Limit, will be a blatant Survivor Series ripoff. It will be held on August 31, and will have the following card;
Four versus Four Survivor Series Match The Prophecy (ROH TV Champion Christopher Daniels, Abyss, Kevin Thorn, & Havok) vs. ROH (Austin Aries, Colt Cabana, Claudio Castagnoli, & Roderick Strong)
CM Punk Re-Debut Match Bryan Danielson vs. CM Punk
Four versus Four Survivor Series Match The New Dynasty (Joey Ryan, Adam Pearce, Jimmy Rave, & Mystery Partner) vs. Team Hero (ROH World Champion Chris Hero, Chris Bosh, Scott Lost, & Mystery Partner)
Mr. Kennedy Debut Match Nigel McGuinness vs. Mr. Kennedy
Four versus Four Survivor Series Match The Briscoes & MCMG vs. Kevin Steen, El Generico, & The Stampede Bulldogs
Ladder Match AJ Styles vs. Mike Quackenbush

I'd say give Justice Pain a tryout, if you want a brawly, burly bump machine like Whitmer is. He's doing GREAT in my ROH.
Jed Shaffer ~And if you want a tag team, Pain and Messiah ROCK. **** with The Briscoes/MCMG, all day, every day.

I actually brought in Tanaka for a short time in my roh game too. He squashed a few people, then lost to Claudio at the PPV, and I dropped him. I was paying him way too much for not much of an improvement anywhere, but this was when I wasnt making that much money. I also hate it when a good match takes away from the next one. For the longest time now ive made sure to follow a big match thatll draw big ratings (like Danielson/Cabana) with an interview or angle so that the fans arent burned out for the next match. I actually only run about 4 matches per PPV for this very reason, all of them are big matches (usually each of my titles, and a big non title feud will get a ppv spot). But I also have a lot of great talkers to bail me out and grab big ratings for that segment (Daniels, Cabana, Kennedy, Hero, Punk, Mitchell, and so on) What ratings did Kingston/Whitmer matches usually draw for you during their feud? Some drama with Jacobs/Lacey! Also of note, we've each had Rave/Ryan/Sweeney in the same groups/stables

For the longest time now ive made sure to follow a big match thatll draw big ratings (like Danielson/Cabana) with an interview or angle so that the fans arent burned out for the next match. That's smart. I like that. Thanks for the tip. High on the in-ring quality, low on the fan reaction. Like, 80%/40%. I was hoping the feud would boost them more, but they're still not nearly as over as I want. Perhaps when they get to the upper-mid, I'll reignite the feud, cause the workrate was good. ;D Only the beginning. I originally wasn't going to use Rave with Ryan, but I had nothing better to do for him, and I had this Studio 54 idea in my head for the longest time. Alright, now for a preview of Throwdown, on Saturday, March 15th: Studio 54 vs. The BLKOUT Austin Aries vs. Jimmy Jacobs w/Lacey in a non-title match Bryan Danielson & Brent Albright vs. Eddie Kingston & Colt Cabana Steve Corino & Adam Pearce vs. Nigel McGuinness & Claudio Castagnoli Roderick Strong vs. Dan Maff will settle their war once and for all ... in a Texas Deathmatch! Murderdeathkill defend the ROH Tag Titles against Jack Evans & Matt Sydal! Chris Hero defends the ROH World Title in a triple threat against Jay and Mark Briscoe! Plus: Chris Sabin, Alex Shelley, Puma, Rainman, Sonny Siaki and Mike Quackenbush will be on hand! Jed Shaffer ~This is rather fun, documenting it. I hope someone else is entertained thus far. From my one show.
