WRESTLECRAP'S FAVORITE SKETCH COMEDY SHOW CHARACTERS COUNTDOWN!
I've been wanting to try my hand at a countdown instead of a tournament for a while and I thought that Sketch Comedy Show Characters would make for a fun time!
RULES: 1) This is going to work like a normal countdown so send me your lists numbered 1-25. #1 is worth 25 points and #25 is worth 1 point. Feel free to post your lists in the thread, but please also PM them to me. It will make it easier for me to keep track of. I'll tally the votes and we'll see who makes the list! NUMBER ALL LISTS!
2) Any sketch comedy show counts. SNL, MADtv, Kids in the Hall, All That, whatever you like.
3) In the case of a character being played by more then one person please specify which version of the character you are voting for. For instance, in the case of Bill Clinton on SNL specify if you are voting for the Daryll Hammond version or the Phil Hartman version. If you wish to vote for both, cast them as seperart votes.
4) Characters MUST be listed individually. Wayne and Garth may be known for being together, but they are seperate characters.
5) List Characters, not skits.
6) One-Shot characters, and non-human characters (puppets, etc) do count. The requirement to all characters human or not is that they were actualy the focus, or part of the focus, of the skit they were in. Being a random guy or background guy used as a set up to the main character of the skit does not count.
7) The deadline for voting cards will be Thursday, September 11th.

Oh man, 25?! This is gonna be tough.
Especially in a case like this; some of the best characters in sketch comedy are one-off characters who show up and disappear within one episode, so it's tough to gauge where they rank against reoccuring characters.
Ah well, here's a shot. I'll stick with ten for now.
10. Crowleyesque Sir Simon and Manservant Hecubus (The Kids in the Hall) 9. Jeepers Creepers, Semi-Star (Mr. Show) 8. Matt Foley (SNL) 7. The "Police Department" Cops (The Kids in the Hall) 6. Raymond Luxury Yacht, pronounced "Throatwarbler Mangrove" (Monty Python's Flying Circus) 5. Ronnie Dobbs (Mr. Show) 4. Wayne Campbell and Garth Algar (SNL) 3. The Bishop(!) (Monty Python's Flying Circus) 2. Dennis Moore (Monty Python's Flying Circus) 1. Mr. Gumby, and the various other Gumbies (Monty Python's Flying Circus)

One off characters are fine, so long as they are actually characters and not just back ground support to other characters.
AKA Christopher Walken's Bruce Dickenson will count, but Christina Applegate in the Matt Foley sketch with Chris Farley wouldn't count.

Gonna take a lot of thinking to get 25.
Mostly old SNL ones... Eddie's Gumby will be on it. I know that much.

You don't HAVE to fill out all 25, that's just the max you can send in.

Since they do sketches on the show, and much of sketch comedy is derived from improv anyways, I will count it Statboy.
Only actual characters though and not just stuff like "tourist in an Earthquake" and "rapper singing about spoons".

Do we need to have a talk again about Deadpool? We know he isn't dead, and will never be dead.

I killed him in a car race. He'll be back though, I know he has regenerative abilities and he wasn't who I was going for. He was just an idiot and come skipping through the road in the middle of the race for my vengeance.
I'm sure next week when I'm gone he'll have some new job with whatever movie character takes my place.

Great choice Insomniac... now make a list and PM it to me. Crap, I have to make a list? I thought this was a tournament. This is going to be way too much work for someone as lazy as I.

Does it have to be a sketch show in the SNL variety? For instance, Ralph Kramden and Ed Norton were regular characters on the Jackie Gleason sketch comedy shows before they did the actual Honeymooners show. Or Mama from Mama's Family, etc.

Any and all sketch comedy shows Madison. I just posted the ones off the top of my head as examples.
Also, everyone please remember to number your voting cards. Rather you vote for 2 characters or 25, please number the cards to I can know where you rank them and how much points to give them.

I'll have a decent list (15 or so) for you some time next week before Thursday. I have to think about that one long and hard (that's what she said).
