Blaine Edwards Actor: Damon Wayans Type: Another Flamboyant Recurring Critic Show: In Living Color
So what happened to these guys? In a two-part, season cliffhanger sketch, Blaine gets hit on the head by a stage light and gets a sort of amnesia, making him straight and conventionally "macho".
Have they ever been seen since anywhere else? The characters were resurrected for an episode of SNL hosted by Damon Wayans.

t164) 7 points Mr. Subliminal Actor: Kevin Nealon Character Type: Recurring nowpayhimShow: Saturday Night Live Who was he? Played by Kevin Nealon, he was originally an advertising executive (named Phil Maloney) who used subliminal messages to influence people. His appearances on Update utilized the subliminal technique (i.e. saying things rapidly and under his breath, in between sentences) to reveal what he is really thinking. For example, in an editorial on the 1994 caning of Michael Fay, he stated that: "...the boy admitted to spray painting cars but he's only eighteen and young people often do stupid and impulsive things they later regret Shannen Doherty. I happen to think [pause] that everyone's entitled to one mistake Euro Disney. And I'm not saying there aren't [pause] those who I'd love to see get a good flogging Urkel, it's just that [pause] I'm afraid we've become so insensitive that we've learned to accept the idea of a man's beating in public Pee Wee Herman."

Pat Actor: Julia Sweeney Character Type: Reccuring of questionable gender Show: Saturday Night Live
Who is Pat? He... She... It... Pat was an androgynous fictional character created and performed by Julia Sweeney for the American sketch comedy show Saturday Night Live, and later featured in the film It's Pat. The central aspect of sketches featuring Pat was the inability of others to determine the character's sex.
What's that clip from? The character was popular enough to spawn a feature length 1994 film called It's Pat (from the lyrics of the character's theme song on Saturday Night Live). In the film, Pat meets Chris, another sexually ambiguous character played by Dave Foley. (On SNL, Chris had been played by Dana Carvey.) They quickly fall in love and propose to each other at the exact same time. Before the wedding, however, Chris breaks up with Pat on account of Pat's arrogance and the fact that Pat cannot decide on a direction in life. Meanwhile, Pat has become an object of obsession of a neighbor (Charles Rocket), who is so determined to discover Pat's sex that he goes insane. Pat also has a brief rock music career in the film and plays with the band Ween. After the band hired Pat for a cameo appearance, he/she built it up and started looking at it from an unrealistic point of view (in which Pat thought he/she was going to become an overnight celebrity), which had a hand in the breaking up of Pat and Chris. The film was a critical and commercial bomb.
Was Statboy right? Yes he was. Pat deserves.... Pat's... place this low!

t159) 8 points SimonActor: Mike Myers Character Type: Recurring Tub Dwelling Arteest Show: Saturday Night Live www.hulu.com/watch/19309/saturday-night-live-simonWho is Simon? Simon is a sketch about a young British boy played by Mike Myers who likes to draw, and has his own BBC television program, Simon. The sketches always begin by showing the BBC logo with a faux British announcer back-announcing some ridiculously insipid sounding programming on right before it. The show borrows its theme song from a British children's television series called Simon in the Land of Chalk Drawings, though, aside from the concept of a young boy who draws, the premises are completely dissimilar. Why did you call him a "Tub Dweller"? Simon broadcasts his program from his bathtub, in which he appears to be nude. On the show, Simon displays his drawings (pronounced drawerings in an exaggerated British accent), which he bends over to pick up, whereupon he scolds the audience, by yelling his catch phrases, "Don't look at my bum!" and calling the audience "Bum Lookers!" and "Cheeky Monkeys!" What does he do on his show? His drawings often depict scenes that are disturbing or morbidly violent, presented with a naive and childlike innocence. From the context of his show, it can be inferred that Simon has an extremely skewed outlook on life due to his upbringing: his mother is deceased (or, as he refers to it, "with the angels"), and his father is somewhat of a reprobate who associates with nefarious figures and leaves Simon unattended for long periods of time while he gambles. Simon is seemingly oblivious to his abnormal nature, maintaining a jovial temperament, and a typically juvenile sense of humor. Why is a child so big? Simon also suffers from gigantism (an obvious explanation for having a body of a full-grown man). He sometimes has guests on his show, who appear in the bathtub with Simon, and also show their drawings (which are as equally disturbing as Simon's).

In the sketch, people (mostly white) ask him various questions such as "Negrodamus, why do white people love Wayne Brady so much?" to which he replies "White people love Wayne Brady because he makes...Bryant Gumbel look like Malcolm X." (This clip was later shown as a drug hallucination in the Wayne Brady sketch).

t159) 8 points Debbie DownerActor: Rachel Dretch Character Type: Recurring Bringer Downer Show: Saturday Night Live www.hulu.com/watch/19280/saturday-night-live-debbie-downer-birthday-partyTell us about her you lazy jerk! Debbie Downer is a character played by Rachel Dratch on the television show Saturday Night Live. The character's name is connected to a slang phrase which refers to someone who persistently adds bad news or negative feelings to a gathering, thus bringing down the mood of everyone around them. Dratch's cynical character would interrupt social gatherings to voice negative opinions and pronouncements, making her very unpopular to be around. When did she first show up? The first appearance of Debbie Downer was on 1 May 2004 with guest host Lindsay Lohan. (In that episode, her real last name was revealed to be Metusic.) Debbie and five of her family members are eating breakfast at a very happy Disney theme park restaurant. When the family is making small talk, Debbie (who is wearing a brown shirt compared to the bright colors worn by her family) makes negative comments on current events followed by a knowing look at the camera and a "wah-wah" sound made by a muted trombone. What kind of things does she say? She's a master of killing the mood with lines like: "Ever since they found mad cow disease in the U.S., I'm not taking any chances. It can live in your body for years before it ravages your brain." "I guess Roy (from Siegfried and Roy) isn't doing as well as they first thought... He was attacked by his own tiger and suffered devastating injuries." "Did you guys hear about that train explosion in North Korea? ... The media is so sensitive there; so secretive. They may never know how many people perished." (Dratch loses her composure after this line.) "Wow, you guys, Disney World really is fun. It makes me feel like a kid again. I mean, the time before my two-year stint at children's (hospital)." "Oh, hey Pluto. Hi. Boy, it must be fun to work here... although, the biggest drawback to working at a theme park is that you must live under constant fear of deathly terrorist attacks." "With that costume on, He (Pluto) was probably in the early stages of heat stroke." (Having regained her composure, Dratch started laughing again with this line.) "Speaking of... speaking of... (Dratch cannot contain herself and continues to laugh.) Speaking of heat, if this greenhouse effect keeps up we'll all be living underwater." "By the way, it's official... I can't have children!" (Dratch had trouble delivering this line.) "(Feline AIDS is) the #1 killer of domestic cats." "Slather up the sunscreen... I had a mole looked at recently and the doctor told me that due to the extent of its irregular borders I'm flirting with a melanoma."

Who... What was he? He is the crazed drummer of Dr. Teeth and The Electric Mayhem. During performances, Animal is usually chained to the drum set, as his musical outbursts are extremely violent. From The Muppet Movie:

t156) 9 points Buckwheat Actor: Eddie Murphy Character Type: Recurring Cornfed Pleaser Show: Saturday Night Live www.hulu.com/watch/10388/saturday-night-live-buckwheat-dead-america-mournsWho was Buckwheat? Buckwheat is a member of the Little Rascals a.ka. Our Gang. Where does Murphy come in then? character was parodied by Eddie Murphy on Saturday Night Live in a sketch that had Buckwheat as the target of an assassination. His assassin, "John David Stutts" (also played by Murphy), was in turn later assassinated in a scene that parallels Lee Harvey Oswald's murder by Jack Ruby. The skit was a parody on the extensive media coverage of the then recent murder of John Lennon and the attempt on Ronald Reagan's life — in particular, the focus on excessive attention given to the assassins and tributes from people only loosely associated with the victim. If Buckwheat was assassinated how was it a recurring character? Murphy performed other parody skits as well, including a murder attempt by Alfalfa and an advertisement for a record, Buh-Weet Sings. The latter skit contained the opening line which later became an SNL classic: "Hi, Ah'm Buh-Weet. Amembah me?" ("Hi, I'm Buckwheat. Remember me?") and Buckwheat performing popular music standards using stereotypical vernacular pronunciations(e.g., "Munce! Tice! Fee tines a mady"). The record advertisement sketch was the first in the series of Murphy's sketches. OOOOOO'TAY! WRONG! Another Buckwheatism attributed to Murphy's inaccurate impersonation of the famous rascal, "O'Tay!", was actually invented by Eugene Gordon "Porky" Lee.
