I liked Torchlight in the beginning, but after a while it became far too repetitive, both in terms of combat and level design. Tons of loot if that's your thing, but the game itself is really lacking in substance. No complaints since I only spent $10 on it at the time, and Steam has had it for as little as $5, but I'd never pay the full $20 price. Torchlight works best played in small chunks. It's great for a killing an hour or half. Besides, the single-player game was in part only made as a proof-of-concept/prototype/fundraiser for a free MMO version due out in a year or so.

I played Torchlight not that long ago. It was what made me want to play Diablo 2. I don't know about a MMO version but I wouldn't mind a small scale multiplayer option.

Torchlight is fairly fun, its not quite as enjoyable as an MMORPG but i can see myself returning to play this game when the servers crash.
Diablo II is still eating up most of my playtime, but once may 1st comes around its back to surfing and softball!1!!1!eleven!111!
And WoW once cataclysm is released.

yo the beat hazard demo is out, it's basically "what if jeff minter made audio surf".
so if that makes sense, you might want to get beat hazard. if not, eh still try out the demo it's pretty crazy.

I'll give Beat Hazard a try. I loved Audiosurf, so this sounds pretty fun.
And the new L4D2 DLC is finally out! I haven't played since February, so hopefully this adds some decent mileage to the game.

here's a good representation of beat hazard:
The reason why I chose a bill shatner song is because you can actually see how songs effect gameplay in it more clearly.

Just played the demo. Nothing like some good seizure-inducing fun I ran through a couple Lady Gaga songs and it got pretty intense at times. I couldn't help but notice that the boss ships came around at the same part of the chorus each time in each song. Not sure if that's normal, but I thought it was neat nonetheless. The visuals definitely put pressure on your eyes after a little while, so it's the kind of game that probably requires constant breaks just to relax a bit. As soon as I got to the title screen, the flashing bordered on overwhelming. Very fun game, although probably not something I'd spend $10 on.

Anyone try out Madballs in Babo: Invasion? Fun little arcade shooter where you play as rolling balls based on the old 80s line of toys: Lots of action with the occasional puzzle-solving moment. Nothing too complex, but lots of weapons and different playable characters. Also has online co-op and 16-player multiplayer. There's a demo out that lets you run through the first level of campaign if anyone's interested.

I started another game of "X-Com: UFO Defense" on Superhuman difficulty. This is one of the best games ever made IMO, even when I lose it's awesome.

As a Windows 7 user with a widescreen monitor, I've had some problems trying to get Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic to run. (Due to a problem with the monitors' refresh rates on Win 7, the game would normally crash as soon as the LucasArts logo at the start fades out)
Well, thanks to the new ATI Catalyst graphics drivers, the game FINALLY starts up, although it only runs properly in windowed mode right now. The widescreen hack doesn't seem to work, so I'm reinstalling the game to see if it helps. In any case, victory draws near!

...or not. I decided to forget about the widescreen patch since the game wouldn't work with it, then it didn't work without the patch either and when I finally got it running again (in a window) I made the mistake of f***ing around with the resolution in the game options. The game worked fine... until I quit out of it and tried to load my save, which it refuses to do. Now, even though I reset all the options and tried seemingly every combination of settings possible, I can't get it to start in a window any more. ...ah, PC gaming at its finest. EDIT: SUCCESS! IT WORKS! I CAN PLAY KOTOR AGAIN! Sure, I still can't seem to get it to work in windowed mode (so the picture is a bit stretched in full screen... and thus my female main character's butt looks kinda big, not that I mind) but thanks to a little helpful program I found on the Steam community forums I can at least start the game up and play it. Victory! For now!

also I'm abliged to say that you can now get mechwarrior 4: mercenaries for free! and by getting it for free I mean you can legally download it from a torrent... that takes forever because it's a torrent. mtxgear.mektek.net/MW4/

also pay what you want for 6 indie games: www.wolfire.com/humbleI suggest doing a custom option that gives money to the devs and child's play, and nothing to the EFF because the EFF happen to be dicks.

I am now able to play Knights of the Old Republic perfectly well as long as I disable the movie cutscenes prior to starting the game. However, sometimes it works even WITH the movies enabled, so none of this makes any sense whatsoever. Since I think BioWare's RPGs (with the possible exception of Mass Effect) are more enjoyable when you play them on the PC, I got Dragon Age: Origins from the EA download store. And, well, damn. It really feels much better on the PC, even before I installed a bunch of mods to fix some stuff and add a couple of new things. I think I f***ed up when installing the hi-res texture packs, though, because Morrigan's skin is looking pretty weird right now... I don't think it's supposed to be like that. (and yeah, her hair is different too because I was trying out the Dragon Age Redesigned mod. I'll probably switch back to her original look pretty soon) EDIT: Yeah, there seems to have been a minor conflict with the mods. I uninstalled the hi-res textures, and now Morrigan is wearing the "Ashes Inspired Robe" which failed to show up properly due to some conflict with the mods. I'll try to see if I can get them both to work properly. Sure, I could just play the game instead, but customizing (and failing at it) is half the fun when it comes to BioWare RPGs!

So, going to restart Titan Quest from the beginning.... I've already played through the game a few times with a Conqueror (War/Defense), a Templar (Defense/Dream), a Corsair (Rogue/Defense), and a Brigand (Hunting/Rogue). I also played through the main game (minus Immortal Throne) in Co-Op as a Ritualist (Nature/Dream) with one of my friends. I want to try a new powerset combination, but want to stay away from Defense since it's terribly uber. I'm going to be playing Co-Op with a couple folks that will likely go for the 'melee'-oriented class combinations and I want to play back-up/support for them. Any suggestions on combinations? I'm okay with doing Nature or Dream again, but don't want to be a Ritualist this time.

Yeah, so Steam is doing another Modern Warfare 2 free weekend. Not even sure why I'm downloading it again after the really bad time I had.
Maybe I'm hoping that this time will be different.
...Oh maybe I'm really a masochist.

I got torchlight after it was on sale for the 11th billionth time and I must say...
It's definitely diablo. Hardcore mode definitely adds another layer of intrigue to it, and the mods seem interesting. Plus the pet is all kinds of awesome.
