Gonna bump this thread back from the dead Steam is offering a free weekend of COD: MW2 multiplayer. Starts Thursday at 7 PM EST and should last all the way until some time Monday morning. You can preload now so it's ready to go when the weekend kicks off. The servers will probably get hammered all weekend long, but I'm still checking it out. Also, finally played through Dragon Age. I'm usually not a fan of that time period when it comes to my games (Could never get into Oblivion for that reason), but Dragon Age completely sucked me in. Bioware simply never fails. 40 hours in one play-thru and looking to go back for me.

so I got lead and gold, seems like it'll be a fun wild west class based third person shooter.

I completely forgot about Lead and Gold. What are your thoughts? How's the variety amongst the classes and maps? Does it seem like something that'll keep drawing you back?

Damn, that's disappointing. Looked like a nice idea on paper and the setting/price had me interested. Never played Battlefield Heroes, so I'll have to give that one a shot.

I've been playing the free weekend Modern Warfare 2 online. Good lord do I suck. I can't seem to go 5 minutes without getting killed from behind, getting sniped, or getting "Noob tubed". It's just too damn easy to die.
Don't get me wrong. It's fun. I just suck is all.

So I wrote a blog about how I thought Lead and Gold was a bad game, and how I felt sorry for the devolpers for having that game come out during the MW2 free weekend.
Man, those lead and gold fanboys were pissed. Even though I said that the game should have been given a chance, they still think I'm the anti-christ.
A couple of choice comments (censored ofcourse):
The funny thing is, that comment just made me not want to play lead and gold ever again for risk that I'll run into that douchbag. Great way of defending the game guy!

I just started WoW recently and got to 80 in a week or so, but can't find anyone to play with aside from my buddy so we've started playing Total Annihilation, Diabolic 2, and Mytheon.

Ive been more of a PC gamer than console over the last 10 years, although im still a console gamer. But when i got my ultra masculine hands on Everquest back in May 1999 it changed gaming for me completely. So ive been playing Everquest, Everquest II, or World of Warcraft at some point and time in the last 10 years.
So after 10 years of computer gaming i finally decided to buy Diablo II, and let me tell you.....i feel like an idiot for not playing this game years ago...BUT!!! the silver lining in this dark cloud is i only have to wait a year or so for Diablo III and not 5 - 10 years like most fans of the series.

So, I ended up uninstalling Modern Warfare 2, even though the weekend isn't over. The game frustrated the hell out of me. Every game I played, I couldn't seem to take 2 steps without getting killed in some asinine way such as a grenade launcher that was nowhere near me. And I can't tell you how many times I fired first but still die anyway because some asshat knifes me.
Whatever... I'm going back to Team Fortress 2 because that game is, you know, FUN. Because in that game when I do get owned, it's not in some bullcrap way.

I never even bothered installing MW2, to be honest. All the bad things I've heard about multiplayer (no dedicated servers, constant hacking/cheating) made me not even care in the end. I have COD 4 and just ordered COD: WAW the other day for cheap, so that's good enough for me.

I liked Torchlight in the beginning, but after a while it became far too repetitive, both in terms of combat and level design. Tons of loot if that's your thing, but the game itself is really lacking in substance. No complaints since I only spent $10 on it at the time, and Steam has had it for as little as $5, but I'd never pay the full $20 price.

And the gamestop manager mentioned Diablo III is due out this year which is sweet.
