It's as dumb as the people who watch action movies and go "Dude thats so fake".. yeah it'scripted violence and it's not real, so what?.
I think pound for pound MMA guys would wipe the floor with the majority of the roster in WWE. But put guys like Big Show in there against someone who weighs 180 pounds and show can just impose his will on the guy

First thing is obviously his size -- he's got a huge reach advantage and he's big enough where most grappling/submission holds would be rendered useless since you'd never be able to get them on him. Takedowns would likely be damn near impossible. And he's had professional boxing training. The only person I'd see having a legit shot would be Lesnar. Other than that....yeah, Big show all the way.

Funny how the only guy you think could beat him was a pro wrestler.

I know this, if you do the reverse and had the mma fighter try to wrestle a match, it would not be pretty at all. thats like saying an mma fighter would be a bad actor. Ok. How many mma fighters are good actors? How would an mma fighter become a good actor? He would become a good actor by 1. Training to be an actor 2. Being used by a skillful director, alongside skillful professional actors, in a way to best exploit his or her natural characteristics. On paper, it should be very difficult for someone to go from one performance based profession into another with little preparation. If an MMA fighter trained like a professional wrestler, then, yes, he or she could become a very good pro wrestler. However, with little preparation, he or she would have to rely on good booking and being guided by others in order to have a good performance. Just because you're a great fighter doesn't mean that you could naturally pick up pro wrestling with ease. I just want to defend pro wrestlers because it seems more like a slight to their profession and their toughness for them to fail at something that they were not trained to do.

I like both. I see nothing wrong with either. One is purely spectacle entertainment, the other is a sport.
I watch wrestling to watch "athletic theater", if you will, plus it appeals to my classic boyish attitudes of good vs. evil.
MMA is a sport, which occasionally has some of the things wrestling has, but is something totally different.
Guys like Santino, Kozlov, Shamrock, Swagger, etc. could do well (and in Shamrock's case, has) due to their previous backgrounds. Miz, Cena, Barrett, Kane, etc. and so on are going to get kicked very hard in the legs to the point their knees won't function, and would probably get choked out.
Take them both for what they are.
Also, while grappling the Big Show might not be easy for someone who knows nothing... go watch the Giant Silva vs Naoya Ogawa, where the big man gets taken down and tapped quickly. He could also get leg kicked to death by someone who has the speed to get in and out without getting touched by Mr. Wight.
GSP also is never going to have a Flair/Steamboat match if he were to go to the WWE. I don't see why people are having a fit.

Real fighting is boring.
WWE is entertaining. That is all.

If I wanted to see "real fighting", I'd be out tonight waiting outside the bars.

so in a bar fight, some guy's gonna randomly go for a submission or a rest hold? No, but someone actually trained to fight is going to know how and where to hit and defend himself much better than some dude that's just probably going to be flailing around. Not saying a wrestler would do such, but if we're assuming random Joe Shmoe is in the bar fight in question, he's not going to be as good in a fight as someone who does it professionally. so apparently in a bar fight rest holds and submissions win out? cmon, man. has anyone here ever seen this happen in a bar fight? and if "flailing around" doesnt work, then how did tank abbott ever win a UFC fight? he's a street fighter

Yeah - you're absolutely right... Joe Schmuck who flips burgers for a living is gonna kick the living s*** out of Randy Couture in a bar fight every single time... Big gap between Joe Schmuck and a drunk pro wrestler. So CM is out of question? Also I would rather get into fight with MMA guy than with wrestler.

I would bet $20 that someone like Beth, Natalya, or Kong would kick one of those MMA guys' ass.

I know it happens but it hasn't happened to me yet. The MMA fans I know are former WWE fans and wonder about the product every once in a while.
Its just on UFC the justification for the high PPV prices along with boxing. You are paying a high price most of the time for a main event that could last less than two minutes (I guess Jeff vs Sting comes into this category too haha).
