Except how it wasn't nowhere near as long, a promo instad of a person, and generally not at all like Buzzkill in WCW. No it was, it was a complete ripoff of something else that was going on at the same time. They didn't even attempt to make it original. No, it wasn't. Only the last part, and everything else was stuff done before in TNA, and I'd go on about the intent, but I'm not getting into that discussion with you again!

The only thing we have left is knowing that wrestling companies don't like each other. During the Monday Night Wars, WWE pulled all kinds of tricks when WCW were ahead. How many times did we hear how Austin was fired from WCW about not being marketable enough; JR burying Hogan & WCW in general during matches; guys like Waltman & Jarrett bitching about them on WWE TV; Gillberg; camera close ups to anti-WCW signs in the crowd; Billionaire Ted; the DX army, etc. McMahon quite rightly ignores TNA because it would be counter-productive to even acknowledge them, but I find it laughable how many lickspittles get offended and appalled on poor Vince's behalf.
As for Jericho, if his last WWE run is any indication where he is right now creatively then forgive me if I don't treat his every word like solid gold. Ex-WWE talent saying nasty words about their former employers pisses him off; TNA not pushing themselves as the best promotion in the world pisses him off and TNA copying WWE pisses him off. To be honest, if a very short, tongue in cheek promo that was actually quite clever (imo) provokes such utter rage from a dyed in the wool WWE man like Jericho then TNA must be doing something right.

Can I have your attention please?
I have just received an email from the anonymous RAW General Manager.
And I quote:
BUSH LEAGUE.

The "DX army" thing was the one rib from WWF against WCW that I can look back on fondly now. It felt more within the lines of DX's collective character rather than the more obvious and cynical ones. Outside of that, that trick never works. It's like an up-and-coming MC trying to battle a more established one, but their rap focuses on whining about the other guy way more than establishing their own flow.

I wasn't watching wrestling then, but were people calling WWE bush league when they had a FAKE RAZOR RAMON and a FAKE DIESEL? At least TNA haven't taken things that far...yet.

Just because WWE went that far doesnt mean it was right and like it or not, WWE has the fans to spend on doing this petty stuff, TNA doesn't.

I'm pretty sure everybody was calling that bush league at the time, but this message board didn't exist then. I agree that TNA does a lot things that make it seem "bush league" but IMO, the 3/3/11 promo wasn't one of them. Planning to bring in the MEM without verifying that Booker and Nash would be there, having a PPV built around ECW where the initials of the company or most of the wrestlers names couldn't be used, having the Nasty Boys on TV in 2010 those are the type of things that make TNA look "minor league" and not real competition to WWE.

He is spot on except that I really didn't take any issue with the 3-3-11 promo video it was just a spoof. You can bash TNA for overvaluing ex-WWE talent, looking to past WCW/WCW/WWF success and trying to emulate that rather than move forward, and not having a singular creative direction. But the 3-3-11 thing was just for fun that's the one thing I think its a little unfair to get on them for.
But in a general sense Jericho is completely correct.

It's not just this one promo, but TNA constantly rips off WWE, rehashes old storylines, brings in tired old warhorses for "ratings" that never come to fruition, and makes every feud & storyline into a complex and convoluted personal vendetta instead of 'I hate you, you hate me, let's fight'. They have the greatest on-screen talent in the world and no clue how to utilize it. Every episode of Impact is a booking nightmare. It's just so amateurish.

It really doesn't matter what WWF did fifteen years ago or whenever. We are in 2011, and let's keep it there.

Totally agree with him.
They need to do their own thing. Forget WWE. Don't even worry about what they're doing. TNA would be better off just doing their own thing and not trying to "beat" WWE or outdo them at their own game.
