So far just a lot of rain in Central Jersey and some wind. Nothing major yet. Hopefully it stays that way.
Tornado Watches are a lot calmer than they sound though. They just mean the conditions are right for a tornado forming. Tornado Warnings are when you have to watch your ass.

Yeah, quiet so far here, too, though my sister's house has some flooding in her basement. Hopefully, she'll be fine, as she's in farmland area while I'm closer to the coast.

Well that was fun.
Rain came down in buckets and the winds were 100mph but it all cleared out more or less by this morning. The crews were out all day getting power restored and I got mine back an hour ago.
It was kind of cool walking around the neighborhood after it got dark with no power tho, it never gets that dark at night around here normally due to all the lights, everything looked pretty strange.

GWB lower level is closed, due to winds. Wouldn't it make more sense to close the upper level due to winds?

Powers went out and went back on again. 20-30 minutes later, it went out and went on again.
This is gonna be fun.....

I was prepared for a rough one where I live and was prepared to not be online much.
Not once today did I lose electricity or cable. Very strange.......

My sister just texted me and said they just got power back in the part of Jersey she lives in. I just want to let you all know that this storm heading up the east coast is my wife's fault. We were getting plenty of canes in our party of FL when she lived here originally then nothing after she moved back to Massachusetts. She finally moved back to Florida and what happens the first time we're back in the cone for a cane? Her family plans a baby shower for her, she buys her plane ticket heads up north and someone tips Irene off. Damn stalker hurricanes...

Checking in on the Philly/South Jersey area - very rainy and windy here but nothing major yet...though we're supposed to get the worst at 4 am.

So far, nothing but lots of rain and wind here. Also, I had heard that NYC was thinking of shutting the MTA down, but I was unaware that it had actually gone through with it.

Checking in from Queens (Fresh Meadows). Lots of torrential rain and wind so far. I stepped outside and got swept all the way to Ocean City, Maryland. Luckily, I've got the ability to teleport, so it's all good.

Sadly, Irene's fat ass had to scooch her way towards our area, so now we're getting rain. Nothing too serious, just rain and wind.

Checking in from Chester County, Pa. Tornado Warnings earlier, and power outages all over. I still have power thankfully, but we closed work early tonight, when the restaurant went black. Lol. The bad stuff coming early AM from what I've read/heard.

Tornado Warning in Queens for the next 5-10 minutes or so. It's quite intense out there.
