We've gotten a lot of rain since yesterday afternoon, and the winds are really kicking up right now.
UPDATE: Apparently as of a few minutes ago Irene has been downgraded to a Tropical Storm. Suck on that, Irene!!!

Seems like the storm picked up movement speed as it past over our area and I thought it was supposed to be around for a few more hours

My neighbor's fence got destroyed by a falling tree branch, but besides that, no damage over here. Still a lot of wind going on though.

I just dumped about 90 gallons of water out of my basement, but that's pretty much it on damage. I think my sister got it worse, but she's fine. My family in the state for the most part are fine.
I'd bitch about how all the hubbub and hullabaloo was all for nothing, but I'm just SOOOOO tired......

Shockingly my power didn't go out at all. A lot of rain and a fallen tree later, and everything seems to have passed. Even the sun came out for about a half hour. I was really expecting a lot worse from how much they were hyping it.

ROH wrestler Adam Cole's opinion on Facebook
Pretty much it as well. All we got was a soaking rain all night, a little heavier actually in the morning, standard wind gusts. Power flickered on and off twice, but it wasn't so much that when it went out, my DVD player was still on.
Don't get me wrong, I hope everybody's safe for those who got most of the brunt, but yeah, that was pretty weak.

So far it's been pretty lax here, but the worst is supposed to come overnight.

I'm on the South Shore of Long Island and I'm gonna tough it out over here. Good luck, guys. Whereabouts? They were doing mandatory evacuations where a couple of my girlfriend's friends live. She's on the north shore, though, and they were just doing voluntary evacuations (one of her friends was going to do those Saturday, and I joked that they should wear ski masks and carry squirt guns spraypainted black when he goes door-to-door).

Still don't have power (600,000 other houses in Massachusetts don't either apparently), but I've still got internet and a couple laptop batteries.

In a strange random note, while where I live currently the eye of the storm pretty much went over my head all I had was 12 hours of power loss. Meanwhile 900 miles away in my old home town they got hit with the worst flooding in 80odd years. I was born and raised in Waterbury Vt for anyone who knows the area.

Well, other than it being windy, I think we dodged a bullet here on PEI.

Lots of wind, but not very much rain here in northern RI. I was without power for about 31 hours however. Longest 31 hours of my freaking life.
