Normally I dismiss stuff like this, but from what I've seen so far, what he's saying isn't controversial, or contrived, or indicative of character assassination. It has few of the hallmarks of bona fide newz, so I think that this is probably a decent report on backstage happenings and the process in general.

Yeah, I don't usually get too into things from things like GameFaqs, but it's a bit too detailed to be made up I think. Assuming it's true though, it's really interesting how hard these guys try to put on a good show. You always see people criticizing Creative for their ideas (I do it too, don't worry), but it really does seem like they want a good show for the fans. Doesn't at all surprise me about Vince being weird though.

This is fascinating, and comforting too in many ways, shows the creative department isn't as rife with anarchy and idiocy as it seems to have been in the past. Most of the rejected ideas mentioned are fantastic and genuinely inventive, and if Vince gives the green light to at least a handful of these sort of things then we've plenty to look forward to. However, it is quite troubling to hear Vince is just as consumed and out-of-touch as IWC stereotypes suggest. I mean, it's incredible for him to have lived the business 24/7 for so long, but it must be detrimental to the company moving into the 21st century from a creative standpoint if everything after 1982 has gone completely over the boss's head. But at least if Triple H's role is to increase as Vince gets older, from this evidence his influence will be a positive one.

Honestly, yes. That's the kind of psychotic brilliance I'd like to see more of. Maybe not with cancer as it might be a bit tasteless, but the comedic gold once he turned heel with it, if he had a crooked doctor and some kind of match where he shows up in a hospital gown to get his ass kicked, pretends to sell his lungs hurting or something... some kind of red mist finisher to pretend he's vomiting blood and gets sympathy from the ref that way too... God the idea has so many possibilities. Cowardly heel getting out of matches because he has chemotherapy scheduled on Monday. "I'd love to wrestle you next week on RAW! But, I have chemotherapy that day! It'll take a week to recover" Considering how involved the WWE is with the Make-A-Wish Foundation and how many of the kids they visit are cancer patients I doubt they would ever do a cancer storyline like that.

It's funny how people (not just here) go "OMG NEWZ~!" or whatever whenever guys with proven track records like Meltzer and Johnson say or write things. But an anonymous guy on GameFAQs posting things and claiming to be a writing assistant for WWE is somehow more believable and doesn't get the same skepticism. These are the exact same kinds of things all the other former writers that do interviews or are on Twitter (Mates, Goldstein, Greenfield, Dejoseph, Lagana, etc...) have said.

All the rejected storylines were awful, and were rightly shot down.

I have to admit, as much as I disdain Brodus Clay, if he had been teased by Johnny Ace as a huge, kill 'em all monster, and then came out as the Funkasaurus gimmick, I'd probably have died laughing.

OMG this is a fascinating read. It's hard to pick out my favorite piece.
I do love the idea of Johnny Ace debuting Brodus expecting a heel, but then he comes out dancing. That would have been a great moment.

This is way too detailed for it to be made up. As for Vince being out of touch? We already knew that and it's obvious considering how stale the product is.

I didn't see if this has been posted here yet, but the guy on Gamefaqs used these as proof: A photo from one of WWE's offices: A Smackdown One-sheeter: i.imgur.com/pjMrc.jpgAnd there's also a Youtube video from Survivor Series, where he's standing by the curtain during wrestler entrances (next to Pat Patterson).

It could be a fake written by a very talented BS'er who pieced together things from reports and added his own flair. But yeah, the way it's written with what we already know makes it more legit.
If it is, then it'd confirm my suspicions that Vince, and not really creative, is why so many people have nothing to do.

I am dying laughing at the mental image of Matt Striker completely opening his stance while giving an interview to Mark Henry.

Vince has never seen The Shining? My God that man is out of touch! Aspiring WWE wrestlers should all take a page from Scott Hall's book and go to Vince and pitch gimmicks based on famous characters from pop culture and he'll think they're geniuses from coming up with these incredible ideas on their own. Husky Harris' new gimmick in FCW... Vince must think he's a genius. Cue Robert DeNiro from Cape Fear.

You see, this is why it annoys me when people complain that wrestlers should be pushing themselves if the writing teams don't, this isn't twety years ago, you go off script in WWE and your not a top guy, your liable to get dumped on from a great height. Zack Ryder doing his youtube stuff is the exception rather than the rule, and even now he's an afterthought.

Oh my god... this would have been hilariously amazing. Yet a few years ago Vince said the n word of live pay-per-view. I wanted this to happen too.
